  1. before 1991 the US had never had a president who got them into Arab lands. Since then they have been there more often than any other country. Which other country had given its troops the opportunity to compete abroad the way them Bush's have ? Where were you when those other presidents presided over the embarrassments of previous decades. Were you there ? Did you live through incompetent presidents. I did, I know how it was, you have no idea unless you were there. Well listen to me, this president is far better than any that have gone before. The Bush's have always backed their troops. Okay the last appointment of Rumsfeld didn't work out, but who at the time argues against it ? Did you. Don't remember you saying anything ? So Bush is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. You might want a new president but how do you know the next one would be any better ? How do you know that a new guy, or even woman, would be able to do any better than Bush ? I would rather stick with Bush who clearly knows how to back his troops into body bags than gamble on some unknown. That is a work of genius MacBeth! http://static.flickr.com/110/289959679_f579908b2e.jpg?v=0
  2. The Teddy Shearingham applause irritated me. If I am there when Cole has his farewell there'll be silence from me. No forgiveness, but no booing either.

I am pleased with the Fulham result and it has nothing to do with fantasy football and everything to do with Arsenal wearing red, winning things, having wankers for supporters etc... Oh and I like the former Everton front pairing of Radz and McBride - both North American.

This thread perfectly illustrates the greatest problem with Fantasy Football. I have read cheers and congratulatory remarks for Liverpool and ManUre... and everyone knows that makes the baby jesus cry. :doh2:

    Gary Speed

Let us not also forget that Speed was Bellamy's minder. Shearer couldn't control him and SBR's influence was limited. Whenever there was an onfield spat with a ref - Shearer would rush toward the ref to be the voice of reason and Speed would rush to Bellamy to pull him away and calm him down. I am not going as fas as to say that Bellamy would have stayed if Speed stayed but it is more likely that Speed could have diffused the Souness v Bellamy problem.

Why would SBR lie about that sale when he openly admits to the mistake of selling Nobby? Equally popular and went on to play well for Villa. I believe SBR on this one.

Sadly the most common song for him was that evil ditty the Scouse makems sang. Another example of bitterness.

I felt that it was the same with Dyer. Speed got a great deal of criticism when Dyer first started playing with us because of his walkabouts. Either way Speed was usually playing the role of two CMs.
  13. This indian yell thing... If it was 84-85 was it not more of Mexican "A-ya-ha-ha" thing? For those fo you who have travelled to Mexico its a tradition from the state of Jalisco.
  14. On the plus side it would appear NUFC is better known than Juve. B&W stripes will never sell well in the States.
  15. I am pretty sure Solano intends to return to Peru next year and change careers to being a manager. He said after he re-signed with us that he would play for us and then leave the UK when his contract was up. He kept to door open for returning to England as a coach, but only after he has proven to himself he can do it in Peru... so there may not be a choice there. I think Nobby is planning to be a player manager for one of the teams in Lima. So it could be a moot point. Moore - similar story. He wants to go back to OZ and it would really be up to him. Sibi... we have a paper thin squad and he is better than most of what we have so I would keep him for another year. Titus - nee chance man. Off to Ipswich you go.
  16. Absolutely yes, as long as he is NOT played more than once per week. The games where he has faded badly are usually after he has played recently. He is getting on in years (retirement is looming for him) and needs to be played sparingly.
  17. I think Ching would be better suited elsewhere in Europe. Not much aerial ability and hesitant on the ball.
  18. Another thing I have noticed from watching the MLS and Premiership. The MLS is undoubtedly inferior but it seems to me at least that the physical conditioning of MLS players is better overall than the Premiership... what's up with that? I am so used to our players getting knackered and looking totally worn out after the 70th minute that it amazes me to watch an MLS game with most players sprinting and making runs up until the final whistle. Maybe that says more about NUFC's lack of fitness though. blueconfused.gif
  19. Physical presence as well. He would probably cost less than 1m or ten Dempseys = 1 Luque.
  20. Freddy Adu is overrated. Me thinks the Nike (Freddy's personal sponsor) ManUSA connection is in full effect here. There are one or two MLS players that would be a good addition to the Premeirship ... Adu is not one of them.

We don't get to keep Krul? Probably not though... bluecry.gif
  23. I will remember that you were the first to say it and were right all along.
  24. I am skeptical. According to a few sources Shepherd merely vetoed or outright objected to Roeder's targets and went out and did the Duff and Martins deals. If true however you could blame Roeder for not walking away when Fat Fred did this.
