I absolutely love Cisse but perhaps a combination of Gomis & Remy would be an upgrade? Remy wide left, Gomis up top and HBA wide right? We add 2 goalscorers to our starting 11 with both probably better at the all-around and link-up play and Remy having the lightning pace and Gomis having the pure strength. They may not be better finishers than Cisse, but combined they provide what we're missing?

Our best bet is this and for the financial markets to go rabid again and someone taking a fancy on us. I'd absolutely love for someone with deep fucking pockets and an appetite for football to take us on and save us from this absolute piss take of an owner.

There will be time his style would suit us a in 4-4-2 or times when his physicality will suit us in a 4-3-3. He's a good striker with experience in Europe. People sometimes drive me mad, like we can be so choosy when clearly we have several boxes to tick before we go after a player. I'm just as happy if we sign Gomis as I would be Bent. It improves our squad no doubt and all things being equal - Cisse resolving his issue with the sponsorship and staying - great for our depth. If he goes, then we need another. The further we are away from throwing Shola on to the pitch, the better, and this is coming from someone who likes (not rates) the man. Meaning no disrespect to the Mackem Blaster.

Strong lad who did all the hard work for his strike partners and pitched in with some excellent goals and some memorable performances. His hat trick on his full league debut, or the turn and strike vs. Fulham at home a few seasons back amongst others. We've not recovered since his departure in terms of striker depth, so that alone is enough to justify positive thoughts about the guy.

Gomis has some international pedigree and is less of true unknown. I think Leon at times was outstanding with some of the things he could do with the ball but his injury problems never allowed us to get the most out of him. Gomis is strong, decent pace, has good hold-up play and I actually quite like his style of being sort of a big bullish CF. He's an absolute upgrade on Leon who I really do rate. I'm really hoping we pull this off as I think it could be a great signing for us.

Similar to what was said above....I'd rather we loaned Dummett right now to a Championship club for first half of the season and keep 'Sadio to continue to allow him integrate into our club, city and team and then loan him to a Championship club when Dummett returns.
