I’m pretty chill over all this because I’m backing the club to learn from every win, every draw and every loss. Hope they prioritize cash flow on the playing squad over anything else at this point, and I expect they will. We’ve had fuck-all luck this season — which sport has a heavy reliance on in addition to the actual execution part. Long journey ahead of us, and yes, remember where we used to be. Think long term. The force that we were last season was a taste of just what we will be LONG term.

Ignoring the nonsense about #’s and roles given everyone in football here and out there in the social media and regular media uses it… Bruno has either got to stick to his current hybrid role or we’ve got to find ways for him to be pulling the strings around the top of the box side to side (ala Odegaard, etc) as we know he does this often with his linkup on the right but yesterday was the first time I’ve seen him really take the initiative and win us the match. Breathtaking world class display. The reason I want him as some hybrid #10 is because I think we’ll get to see him do that more if we’ve got a holding player capable of taking the ball deep and distributing quickly to push up the pitch but with athleticism to mop up or keep things ticking if an opposition tries to clear. I think we’ll see more of our team camped into the opposition half once Botman is back as he and Schar are so good at intercepting high and keeping our attacks going (+Burn too when we have our wall of 3 back there). Tonali + new DM + Bruno could be tasty next season. But that’s not to say we have this DM play every match; there may be times we want Joelinton, Willock, Longstaff or Miley in there too.

I’d say it’s the first time this season he’s literally took the reins with the “I’ll fucking do it today and I’m not walking away with nothing but 3 points” I want more of this Bruno every bloody game. He’s a unique lad, he’s a 6/10 hybrid. He is key to our deep build up and he’s press resistant and then he’s our 10 in the final 3rd. Hes not an 8 and should never do that for us. (Surely he was more pacy when we signed him?) but if we had Tonali and another holding mid but let Bruno play his game in the final third we’d be purring.

He’s strong as an ox too. Very direct ball carrier and his crosses came often. Loved the at.

Wand of a left foot and very raw in terms of positional awareness as a fullback. Liked his ball playing and I’ll say it again, he’s got very Trippier style to him; perhaps that defensive side to his game will come later when he becomes more aggressive and confident. He does feel a bit a too passive at times where as Livramento is very direct in his decision making.

I think he’s worth double we paid for him and his off the ball work in terms of pressing and movement are top. He’s got brilliant box instincts and has goals and direct assists versus someone who’s more creative etc. I love Gordon’s direct style. @The College Dropout if he wasn’t playing 90+ every single match and getting bartered he’d be a fucking nightmare away from home. Hopefully we’ll get to see that side of him soon
