You may say I have taken the bad side to interpret what “reset” means, but if that’s the case, the possibility that Mitchell has disapproved (or at least, stalled) the original targets that have Howe’s approval, is very high. I mean if I am Howe, I would definitely tell the management who I want for the summer as early as possible, so the management can act quickly and secure the target. There must have been a plan in place with Howe’s input already.
-
To my surprise, it does looks like the club, or the management, didn’t prepare the summer thoroughly. In other words, it seems like Ashworths work since January had not been taken up well by other management / staff
-
I would compare him with Yoro. Excellent physique, questionable positioning and decisions
-
Ashworths original plan was not to give Joe a new contract and cash in in Jan. Have that plan materialised, we won’t need to make further sale in June no matter Bruno release clause was triggered or not. We don’t need to gamble our luck in June and hence make urgent sales at deadline. I mean it’s fine to scrap the sales plan in favour of Howe. But the consequence, in hindsight, was the sales of Minteh and Anderson. It’s really fine because under the current PSR we cannot keep all of them. BUT, Howe cannot blame the club for this. The club altered the plan because of him. Or should the club keep Joe, Bruno and Anderson and then get the rumoured 10 points penalty?
-
We decided not to sell Big Jol, and instead extended his contract, because of Howe. Ashworths original plan was to sell at Jan to meet the PSR requirement. Howe got no right to be upset for selling Anderson imo.

I simply think Schar, Botman, Lacelles and Burn, and in fact Kelly as well, all looks like unable to play over 50% games this season. All are injury prone, or simply too old. If we dont sign a new CB I’m afraid we really need to play youth player for a few games this season. Hall as starting and Targett as backup for LB is fine. It’s the RB position that lack cover (if Trippier is going to mid east)
-
If that’s real, it just shows how close we are to the PSR red line.
-
Kubo is a risky gamble. I want one of my favs to wear the black and white shirt, but his play style is just too unique to fit in. Mixed feelings. If Kubo is the one we are targeting then I agree with Howe, we should keep Miggy as cover
-
yea but I don’t think I ever see one director being hired for “injury management”. re injury management, you can only blame either the medical department, or the manager. And if it’s the former, you don’t need a new director right? Just change the medical staff. You need a new director only because you need him to assert influence on the manager. Hierarchy issue.

I think It’s the appointment of Bunce that looked strange to me, and it might be why Howe acts like that (suspected public media threatening) Mitchell is the sporting director and, most likely, what affects Howe most is the final say on transfer. Just like many has said, all other major clubs would have similar structure. I think Howe knows if he wants to manage top teams in Europe, he has to accept this. Bunce’s position, however, is not something common in other clubs. Although it’s claimed to be solely related to injury management, it is obvious that Bunce has direct influence on the selection of the team. Say like Bruno has played 2 games in 5 days, and from injury prevention point of view, Bunce might suggest Howe NOT to play Bruno in the next game. This won’t be something Howe like to have. And, I don’t know who got the final say on team selection I.E. it’s suggestion, or order? I don’t want the injury crisis to happen again, but Howe might be right to voice out his concerns. The inclusion of Bunce into the structure looks weird to me.

At worst we could play Gordon on the right and Barnes on the left. It isn’t that bad. CB is our top priority, no doubt
-
I could see legal actions upcoming no matter Man City win or lose the case
-
I can’t predict what will happen next to be honest, especially if Man City lose the case.
-
I still think we will sign a multi role winger instead of a right wing specialist
-
Wait a minute. Could that be Rafael Leao?
-
some source said this is base salary for the first year and keep on increasing year by year anyway more likely than not he will be a success. Just that if he failed to impress then Man Utd would have a hard time to move him on due to salary too high, just like Martial
-
You better hope he really performs. 9m euro per year is ridiculous.
-
I take my words back. It’s ridiculous to offer 150k ppw for a 18 years old. This could backfire massively
-
He must be close to world best 11 if Real Madrid is willing to spread that much $ to get him away from Man Utd more likely they will assign scouts to find the next Yoro and tell him don’t sign new contract and wait for expiry.
-
York is a great capture, can’t deny that
-
I doubt we would sign a RW before we are able to sell Almiron
-
I prefer Lee Carsley but I think the FA will go for Howe
-
I ain’t English, I have always criticise THAT English arrogance as well. But I find it funny that people nowadays take it to the opposite end, tends to underrate the current squad. It’s definitely top 3 in the world already, if not the best. Southgate is tactically inept, yet England still able to finish very well the last few tournaments. It’s not just due to luck.
-
I think he will take it. It’s one in a million chance to lead the national team to win the World Cup, having arguably the best squad in the world
-
We might just buy a starting centre back (Silva) and that’s it.
