Thiaw is exactly the type of player that has excellent natural ability but lack of concentration and football brain. Which is excellent for Howe to tune and drill.

normally I would agree with you that it’s just a tactic to ask for more fees. but it’s Saudi. You need to take this into consideration. They can genuinely “take it personally” and not acting like a normal owner. There is a chance that even Liverpool offer 150m we would still reject it

As I said before, once the issue escalates to the level that affects PIFs reputation, they will give out the toughest response. 1. They would not accept the consequence that other view PIF / Saudi state as “weak” 2. They would not allow such a small issue would have impact on their other 99% investments I know some of you are suggesting we are going to sell Isak once we got replacement. That’s actually quite logical if our owner is just a normal owner. But I won’t rule out that PIF would really go for the craziest option - sign replacements and let Isak rot for three years. I know this may hurt us in long term but PIF care about this when their reputation is at risk

you know what? 1. Liverpool are now finding another striker before the deadline. They are also in a little panic mode as they don’t want to have Ekitike as their only striker for this coming season. So once Liverpool got another one, would they really come back next year? I extremely doubt that 2. If he sulks the whole year, why would Liverpool gamble on his fitness and outstanding professionalism? in either case it’s dead for his dream move.

As said in another thread, it feels like the club and Isak kinda agreed that under some conditions he is allowed to leave this summer but if this doesnt materialise then he will stay. And before the end of the window Isak will continue to stay away from the first team, and this is not a discipline action. I don’t think Howe has given up Isak yet. I also don’t think Isak is allowed to leave for Liverpool or else his agent would already go and tell Liverpool to bid. But he is probably allowed to leave for other clubs, say Chelsea or PSG
