Levy’s problem is more on his struggles with the previous managers. Re squad building and budget control he is fine, definitely has rooms for improvement but fine. Spurs under Poche / Jose / Conte were ECL contenders. All getting fired by Levy, and that’s the end of their glory days (if any)
-
He definitely wasn’t being backed enough by the club - I have been saying the management has been doing a poor job for 1-2 years already. But then, people are also right to question Howe, especially on his “streaky performance”
-
no, I won’t say this is “tried”
-
Jesus, we are fucking poor, and it’s not related to Man City
-
-
What’s good is he can strike the ball with both legs, decent pace and strength, quite impressive for a 18 years old. What’s bad is his dribbling isnt as good as Dibling. He might have problem beating any EPL full backs.

What a game by Eddie
-
It would be really funny here if we end up spend none / close to minimum again
-
Sooner or later clubs will start bidding war around 8-10m for youth players around 16-18 years old.
-
Next season would be better
-
I am fine with no signings, if that’s what aligned among the management and Howe. I doubt that though.
-
I didn’t expect him to perform even better than Minteh tbh.
-
If the players looked leggy like today, especially after such a long run with the same starting eleven, Howe should make some changes But it’s Howe’s style, we know that.
-
Some said he wasn’t even good enough for our bench.
-
Hmmmm, then what’s the point to hire him if such a position simply can do nothing under the current PSR? I understand your point but somewhat its a bit…strange?
-
Agree with the above, but it’s also fair to say it would be unacceptable if this happens again next summer
-
Watkins feel like on the way down tbh. It could be the final nail on the coffin for Arteta. If I am AV I might really let it go, but the Duran sales is more than enough
-
Thanks for your incredible efforts despite lack of top class quality. That said, sometimes I do wonder it’s genuinely a lack of quality or a lack of ambition/improvements.
-
That’s fine, that’s actually the narrative for the last summer: the club only wants to sign someone good enough for starting eleven and lift the team to the next level, hence “only EPL established” expensive purchases. Not the bullshit from the nufcblog “eh the club in fact wanted to complete the deal for the Brazilian CB but sorry due to PSR the club is blocked from doing so, and therefore the club wants to do it in Jan instead but unfortunately being hijacked by Man City, so sorry about that” fucking bullshit
-
And after failed/played by CP multiple times, we tried desperate enquiries re Tapsoba and Elanga. No fucking way we can’t structure a deal for that Brazilian CB if we wanted to. It’s not like the club only allows to negotiate and submit bid after 1 Jan. Mitchell can do it at Sep Oct Nov and Dec if he wanted to.
-
that alone deserves sacking. Guehi in exchange of Isak/Gordon/Bruno? What kinda suicidal plan is that?
-
Sorry, I don’t believe it. We have the Guehi budget, or we can structure a deferred deal like the Hall one if we want to. We aren’t THAT close to the ceiling, even unable to offer 30m for a position we badly need reinforcement. These stories don’t feel right to me. I hope it’s just bollocks from lazy journalism. If that’s genuinely sourced from the club then it does smell like bullshit expectation managmenet

Vini Jr didn’t excel in those basics but he is an extremely determined type of learner. He finally made it after 2 seasons. Endrick doesn’t seems to be that determined. I doubt Real Madrid would let him go for cheap anyway
-
Arsenal, since the Wenger era, always played a style that requires their striker to be able to create plays and score goals. Henry was not the first one, Bergkamp was. This “tradition” in fact brought more bad than good to them. They didn’t really value Giroud due to this. They always want to find another Henry. I do agree Isak would be fucking great for them. He would be fucking great for any team in the world anyway.
-
Shearer is my hero, I watched all his games. Shearer is definitely a better finisher - if given space, and he has better strength and determination re scoring goals. If you want a classical striker, then probably Shearer would be a more prolific choice. But Isak is more than that. I don’t want to bring it up again (fuck the gunners) but Isak is exactly the type of modern striker like Henry. He can destroy opponent on his own, even if the other players couldn’t create chances for him. He can do that himself. He can beat opponents one on one and score with both foot, or he can pick up Gordon/Murphy in critical area. He has too much arsenals in his pocket, it’s close to ridiculous. Higuain at his prime has ridiculous goal scoring rate. Yet we all know Benzema is the better striker (and why CR7 scored so much). Isak still needs time and stats to proof, let’s hope he would be free from injuries and able to extend his prime years till early 30s.
