On the Swansea thing, I would like some Newcastle Fans opinions. I am born and bread Swansea, I love the place I love Wales, however, I have always been a Newcastle fan (yes yes I am a glory hunter - but look where that has got me). Some of my mates have been asking who will I support next season, I told them with no doubt it will be Newcastle. Why stop supporting them now and surely it would mean I am a bandwagon jumper if I all of a sudden started supporting the Swans just because they are now in the same division. I do go down to the Liberty to watch them from time to time and will want them to win every game next season apart from the 2 against Newcastle. I know its bad in the 1st place not to support my home town, but surely it would make me even worse to support them now just because the Toon are doing shit? Thoughts? Am I scum of the football earth?

Swansea can be added as a sea-side town. You lads will have a great time down here, really top night out these days.

If Shearer did not take the job does anyone think Bruce would consider the role? It sounds daft as to why would he leave a Prem team for a fizzy pop one, but by the sounds of it he at least talk to Sunderland, if we are close to his heart (which I doubt that much) then maybe his head could be turned despite are current position.
-
Are people really holding that against him? What was he going to react like when he was yards away from a manager celebrating survival? Roll his eyes, tut, and think, "Not another season of this gobshite". If he did enjoy us going down I am sure he changed his opinion when the wanker started singing, I fucking hate that song anyway hate it even more now.

I'd prefer Beye but wouldn't mind Taylor, I just think from Shearers point of view Taylor maybe the better option as he is younger and local and all that. Then again he may opt for Beye's experience.

For some reason you post gives me visions of Shepherd being paraded around St James' being carried on a four poster bed being fed grapes by one sexy concubine and the other mopping his brow with a Newcastle shirt saying Baggio 10 on it. Fuck I hope my son sleeps tonight I think the lack of sleep is effecting me in strange ways.
-
I wouldn't mind Taylor being Captain next season. He is not nearly as bad as some make out but never as good as some of us made him out to be early on. He needs to add a bit of maturity to his game, but I think he still gas the makings of a good player. The long ball tactic of a lot of Championship teams may suit his style of play next season. He seemed to handle the rough and tumble of Drogba as times so if you can handle his strength then surely he can handle Shefi Kuqi?

People have been calling for Shearer to cut his teeth at a lower level nows his chance. The jury is still out on the guy no doubt. If any other manager had the results Shearer had the majority would be going mental, Shearer buys extra patience, patience that the media keep on harping on about when we change a manager. The media forget the shite they gave Blackburn for sacking Paul Ince. Anyway I am off course here, but they say he has no Championship experience. Paul Ince didn't have any League 2 experience and did a pretty good job same as Gus Poyet, okay when they have moved into Premiership roles they have struggled but we need to worry about the Championship. Keane didnt do a bad job did he... We simply don't know at this stage, given the situation I think he is the right man for the job.

This I agree with, I mentioned it in another post we should bully some of the teams down there, we are the big boys of the division. We'll be seen as a team that SHOULD come straight back up. If we have the funds to do it we should try to get the best players from the other teams in the league.
-
I think we have bigger problems than goal keeper. For now I am happy to keep Harper and use Krul as back up. He may not be as good as Shay Given but its nowhere near a problem position for us. He is one of the better keepers in the Championship. It would be good to see Krul given more games next season, maybe he could play all cup games regardless of the opposition?
-
He works pretty hard as well. Very busy and committed. I don't think he'll ever make a decent Premership player but he is a very good Championship player which is what we need at the moment. As long as we have the funds to do so we should bully some of the smaller Championship teams, even given our recent history surely you would prefer to play for Newcastle rather than Scunthorpe or Peterborough - not that I know any players from those teams that are worth signing.
-
Exactly the type of player who got us into this situation in the first place. Apparantly turned down 60k a week at city If he turned down a new contract because he wanted a fortune then I want to stay well clear, but who knows maybe its because he wants 1st team football. When did we last sign a youngster with potential, usually we buy has beens such as Duff, Smith, Butt, Viduka etc
-
Not sure if he has been mentioned, he is not a Championship player but according to Sky Sports News Daniel Sturridge is not signing a new contract with Man City this season so will be available for free. He'd be worth a punt, has always looked useful when I have seen him. He is young and will be hungry to prove himself, this is the type of player we need. Whether he would see the Championship as too much of a step down is another matter.
-
There are not too many that I would be dissapointed in seeing go. I think Beye would be good in the Championship and does seem to be one of the more passionate about the club. I think relegation will give Butt a stay of execution and just can't see buyers for Nolan and R.Taylor. After a shite season I can't see too many being interested in S.Taylor, I wouldn't mind keeping him at least he cares. I think Colo would interest Spanish Clubs especially at a cut price which he surely will be available for. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for someone like Villareal or Espanyol and do quite well.
-
If he gets his fitness back Ferrie Bodde from Swansea, a fantastic midfielder, but spent most of this season injured. Someone like Gomes from Swansea would be good but he is only on loan from Espanyol and there is talk a £5 million fee on his head with Prem teams taking an interest. Ross McCormack from Cardiff is a quality player but Cardiff will be wanting a fortune for him and Joe Ledley. It would be nice to bring in some Arsenal youngsters on loan. I just want a massive clearout of what we currently have.
-
Someone mentioned it earlier but most of the results since Shearer took over went our way and the players blew it. It was sad watching yesterday, no heart IMO. Hopefully a massive clear out will happen and we get in some hungary players, players that seem bothered about playing for the club. Its horrible that we are down but we got chance to rebuild this club and get back a stable base.

I wasn't stupidly gutted at the time due to the Dunne wonder goal for us. Felt we were lucky to come away with anything after going down to 10 men. It would have been such a shot in the arm for us. We were down to 10 men due to a disgraceful decision, we came back well against a mega bucks team, it could have served us well we never know, I was totally gutted by the result. Don't get me wrong by the time Beye got sent off I would have taken the point but to be in the position of winning and then drawing it was hard to take. Totally agree Tron mate, just one point against Fulham would have made a huge difference as it would be in our hands. Then again it may stur us on. A win is a must, the players don't want a what if.. hanging over their heads, if they win on the last game of the season at very least they can say is we did all we can on the day. I think a win will be enough, I can't see Hull winning no matter what team Man Utd out out and Sunderland have it tough against Chelsea.
-
imagine if I had 2 more numbers in the Euro millions the other day.... But I get what you mean. The Ireland equaliser sums up our season to be honest. So much hope and then bang!!! We fought so hard in that game, down to 10 men we did really well, but paniked in the last 10 minutes. I can't see Sunderland getting anything from Chelsea, so our players must put everything they can into the game at Villa. This is possible, okay I maybe clutching at straws but thats all we got at the moment.

I am going to a post wedding BBQ celebration next Sunday afternoon, the mood should be great there with me and a WBA fan. I hope these people have sky sports, that has just dawned on me, I knew that this BBQ fell on the end of the Prem season it never crossed my mind that they may not have Sky Sports.
-
Standing your ground is not an offence, from watching MOTD its a tactic he has used before. The Fulham defender was actually more of a nuisance than Nolan...
-
I think one of Park or Scholes will play as well. That would be disgraceful team though, Fergie wouldn't give a crap either. I just can't see him sending that team out though. If there wa nothing on the game at all maybe but sure even Fergie has some morals. He has not only got a responsability to us, Boro and WBA but to the integrity of the Premier League.
-
Taken fom the Sunday times: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/hull/article6301706.ece I don't think he will start with that team. Their defence maybe the problem because of injuries but I think a more experienced midfield will be on show along with Tevez or Berbatov upfront depending on who is starting v Barcelona.

Just seen our chalked off goal... :dowie: :dowie: :dowie: :dowie: :dowie: :dowie:

just seen the goal why didn't Taylor just stay with his man???

unfortunatley I agree...
