Always thought he was ok upfront. Not the worst. Dont think he’s great at it now. But he’s the best we have.

I do love that he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Showed football IQ there with the bent run, taking on his man. What makes it even better is I was firmly sat non-expectant for until I saw the curl of the ball. Like it was great work until then but… it’s Osula. Should never disrespect him like that again. Yeh the ref was weak. But Casemiro and Fernandes were right to pressure the ref (acting in their teams interest as 2 of their most senior pros and captain). There was a decision to make and the ref folded.

I don’t think they do in the laws of the game or how they are judged/incentivised. Which I think is right. That thinking is how you get blatant reds not given early in a game. Like the De Jong Alonso World Cup final kick. Ref didn’t want to send anyone off from the start. If there was no VAR and the penalty was given - it would be a dive. In that instance Ramseys only true saving grace would be to suggest it wasn’t a foul or he fell over straight away - as I’ve seen players do in the exact same situation (being on a yellow, diving and realising they are on a yellow).

Aye. VAR can intervene next season however but I don’t think that gets reversed. All blatant errors will have VAR now. Most pertinent for incorrect corners/GKs and such. Second yellows too.

Has he tried to engineer a penalty? Yes. Has he dived? Kinda. He gives the ref a decision as they say.

I didn’t think it was possible either. It’s looking like a proper relegation battle. The best in a very very long time. We’ve been used to some terrible terrible sides in the PL. barely have that this year. There’s going to be some v. good players available in any scenario. I probably want Forest to go down. Big part of not protesting is that he knew he was on a yellow and there wasn’t much/any contact. But as soon as the ball breaks he’s thinking ‘penalty’ and he has to think ‘penalty’. If it was against us I would want a second yellow but it is a bit harsh. Situations reversed at OT I don’t think it’s given

I do think it’s a dive. But then he realises he’s on a yellow so he doesn’t protest for a pen. At which point - I don’t think it’s a dive anymore.

I’ve given him credit for not getting sent off for us. But bah gawd he was treading on thin ice with the clapping. Otherwise magnificent. Main character. The protagonist. The antagonist. The legend.

I feel like I should like him more as a player than I do. I think my issue is that he’s fairly low touch. Doesn’t get on the ball as much as I would like. And then when he gets on it he’s just neat and tidy.

Been working on that finish apparently. Getting minutes. Grafting in training. Scoring worldies. Wissa lad wtf is you doing ?

Great fun that. I am enjoying this season tbh. Or at least enjoying the highs. I don’t think it’s the most talented squad. But they can show up in big ways. I fancied us to beat Man U tonight. I fancy us to beat City too. Maybe even at home to Barca too. Barca will beat us over 2 legs. I hope we’re still in the FA Cup. Fancy us to finish the season strongly. Not given up on 8th and more importantly the FA Cup.
