For 6 months he was yes, then he got sent off at Arsenal and was never the same for us again.
-
He's not match fit through not playing but at least put a shift in unlike some others who did not.
-
He's got to go now. Lost me now completely.
-
I thought he played alright. Tiote was however utter shite.

If you care about the club - don't attend the Swansea game

I've paid my money already and much as I understand what you're saying I just can't bring myself to not go. Just as I stayed to the bitter end today. -
Understand all of them associated with the first team and Beardsley 'cos he's an arse-licker, but not sure what Dave Watson's done? Just a clean sweep really and the fact that we produce nothing at all from the academy.
-
I'm sorry but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but after today I just think he's a crock shit and we should avoid him like the plague.

Or perhaps that's really just his point of view? This arrogant rubbish is the exact reason why this thread is so crap. And telling people that their opinions against someone are irrational or mental isn't arrogant? This thread is crap because people are still trying to bring a reasonable defence to the table for Pardew despite there being none, and people like you coming in all chilled like "It's just his opinion, man" Fair enough, this is my opinion, I reckon it's f***ing rubbish, and people who are sick to their back teeth of the bloke managing us are obviously going to find it pretty antagonising. Eh? When I say the hatred is mental I'm not responding to normal, or even quite extreme, criticism of Pardew. There are many posts that go way beyond that and it honestly comes across as borderline psychotic. The club means a lot to people Ian for Pardew and Ashley to treat it with such disdain causes a lot of vitriol. I don't understand how you can be offended by posts on here when Alan belittles the club and the supporter base as well as the north east on a weekly basis The club means a lot to me as well. I'm not offended by anything, I just think a lot of it is over the top. Not that my opinion on that matters, just saying. So what do you advocate then Ian? Are you happy to continue on the current path or do you feel change is needed? If you feel change is needed what action/actions need to be taken? I would love Pardew to be sacked and replaced with a good manager, but that's kind of obvious. My main worry is what comes after the sacking. Saying that, we're getting close to the point where he should be sacked anyway. 'Change' in the abstract isn't something I'm comfortable supporting, I need to think about the detail. I understand people who want to not go to games, I just don't think they should take moral high ground over fans that still want to go. That's also because I believe they don't have any power to change things. Not sure what to say to satisfy people, I've explained my views many times, as much as anyone else on here. Getting Close??? That ship should have sailed long enough since I'm afraid.

Him, Carver, Stone, Woodman, Beardsley and Watson have got to go and go now. I've seen us relegated 3 times but can't remember us ever shipping goals like we have done since the new Year, we used to lose but not by 3 or 4 every week.

4-3-3 Ben Arfa playing Gosling Gosling is a better player than people give credit for purely because they ain't seen much of him due to injuries. When he has played for us he hasn't been bad.
-
Now try to come up with a starting 11 without Debuchy and Remy who could both be out injured for the Man U game. THERE
-
Elliott Debuchy Willo Colo Santon Tiote Anita Gosling HBA Cisse Remy
-
To be fair to them if MYM hadn't have been deeper than everyone else Lambert would have been flagged offside.
-
Mapou Yanga-Mbwia at 5.40PM today in Eldon Square with 3 other French sounding black blokes. He had a wooly pom pom hat on.
-
Remy? Hardly a flair player tbh. Give over, course he is.
-
He seemed to manage Cabaye ok and he seemed to manage to bring HBA on gently to good effect in 2011/12. That isn't my issue though. My issue is people looking back at SBR and KK's teams with rose tinted specs and forgetting that they too had good times and bad times with certain players who have been compared to HBA. Robert quite often got dogs abuse from the stands and in the press and then won people over by scoring a worldy.
-
Nope. He's a massive gobshite who loves his little self but I think people have rose tinted specs when it comes to how they think other managers we've had would manage HBA or how they managed other "flair" players we've had in the past. It certainly wasn't all plain sailing for "flair" players under both SBR or KK as both of them expected a fair bit graft as well as guile.

Pardew's entire footballing philosophy at Newcastle has depended entirely on having a goal machine up front that he can depend on lock, stock and barrel without having to create chances across the rest of the team. A non scoring striker is simply a non starter, Cisse has been that at times and that put us in deep trouble... and at least he has missed plenty, de Jong hasn't even had a proper chance yet, he lacks even the positional sense to manage that. And he can't do the Leon Best role either because for a big bloke, even Shola wins a lot more in the air. Do I think he's better than he's shown so far? Probably. Would I take the chance on him? Absolutely no way, not at this stage. Agreed. Leon Best used to win loads in the air, more than Shola certainly. He was a very important member of the squad and shouldn't have been sold in my opinion. In that 5th place season he scored some important goals (QPR at home for example) and also helped create goals for Demba Ba as well (eg Stoke Away) by winning stuff In the air and generally putting himself about and having a go at teams. De Jong is likely to do similar to Jon Dahl Tomasson in a league like the Dutch league but never do enough in either the English or German leagues. He's neat and tidy, tries to link play but just doesn't look like a goalscorer and that is what we really need.
