Just made this, too cliched? http://i51.tinypic.com/dm8y82.jpg

Interesting. It seems the more I find out about Hughton the more it becomes apparent that I've been underestimating him. In fact I'd go as far as to say that I dismsissed him in my mind when he first got the job and that was wrong.

It was a pretty good transfer window relative to what most of us were expecting.
-
But it's accepted knowledge that he did have some troubles with Dyer and Bellamy which means it's not all fabricated nonsense, or perhaps not nonsense at all, maybe it just never made it into Robson's book at the time because he'd forgotten about it, forgiven it, was too much of a gentleman etc.

Decent manager, bit too conservative for my liking. He had some cracking young players at Lyon but was afraid to use them much. (Ben Arfa among them). Better than O' Neil as others have said.

Awesome post. That'd be mint pre-game. Worrying number of sexual references mind. You too huh!

Nolan has the intelligence, just not the legs.

God I hate the international break, it seems to drag on interminably and without the speculation of a transfer window. If everything goes according to plan, (that would be my plan), we'll win very comfortably by at least 3 goals.

Just watched all of them. Can see shades of three previous Newcastle players all wrapped up in one guy. Robert, Dyer and Beardsley.

Keegan was ruthless, never seemed to hurt his teams spirit either.

Aye, we should have a poll - settle it once and for all.
-
We've got enough of those already.

He's agitating for a move. Don't know why I'm laughing, it's not funny!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_newspapers_in_the_United_Kingdom_by_circulation Judging by the continually falling sales you'd think they'd twig on it has something to do with all the crap they print that demonstrably few people are interested in reading about.

"After seeing the skills of the players, I feel even more confident that the team can achieve success." (One wonders who he was watching)

What's up with Xisco, pissed off at playing for the reserves and wants out or what?
-
Funny thing though, a fraction of a second quicker with that 'lunge' and he'd have been a hero.
-
Overall he did, yes. There a split camp already, those that have decided he's not good enough and refuse to see any different and those who are still watching without preconceptions.
-
There's a few players in this league won't like being shown up and he'll be a target for some heavy tackles. Here's hoping none of them connect, he certainly has fast reflexes.

I was going to make a similar post, except using the word phenomenal. Don't think I ever felt inspired to select a footballer as my avatar before and he hasn't even kicked a ball for us yet. His close control is amazing but am I the only one noticing a slight disparity - claims in the paper say Hughton will build his team around him as a central playmaker. That's fine, I'm sure he'll unlock loads of defences but the reports from France suggest he has limited tactical awareness and possibly not really a team player. Pretty sure the best PM's have an abundance of tactical awareness, or maybe it's just the ones with a lack of flair and skill that do. Anyway, he'll be fine. Phenomenal even.

That challenge on the keeper was not too different to the Carroll one yesterday, every right to go for it. And in Carroll's case he got the ball.
