  1. Burnley owners did not pirate premier league games. So why have the Premier League claimed that what they've done with the NUFC takeover is to protect the club? Because they certainly haven't protected Burnley. Probably because the test is supposed to be about protecting the club in question, but in reality it's used to serve the wims of top clubs and the board.
  2. You are a mad man there isn’t a chance Staveley & Ruebens will buy the club without PIF if they wanted to they’d have done so by now Why would they have done so by now?
  3. No wonder there's a positive takeover thread, this fucker is full of wrist cutters.
  4. It's even worth when there's nothing to distract from NUFC itself though.
  5. If the deal with BeIN is really based on Saudi coverage being allowed then what happens to that deal if coverage doesn't restart? Hopefully some of those conditions being talked about are the PL ending their block on the takeover.
  6. It would have made things a lot "smoother" but it's not dead. It could be that now KSA have the ball well and truly in their court and are saying - get the takeover done, and then we'll allow Bein to broadcast. That's just pure speculation atm but it's a theory that Jacobs has and imo would be a perfect move. If that is the case we can expect Bein to want this moved along quickly. If not then there basically paying the PL to broadcast in KSA, and not actually doing it... Ok, I just got the impression last night that Keith thought it had to happen for the takeover to go ahead. Nothing is going to be concluded until this arbitration is done either way, which hopefully will be by February/March. AFAIR the idea was that BeIN being unblocked could end up making arbitration unnecessary. Wouldn't necessarily be required to make the deal possible as a arbitration panel could decide that PIF are separate legally to the state rendering that a none issue. The panel don't have to take BeIN's opinions/pressure into account after all, they aren't the PL.
  7. Commentator - "Steve Bruce has to work his half time motivational magic"
  8. He's saying that MBS making the public announcement makes absolutely no difference to any question of whether PIF is separate to the government. Because we've always known that MBS is chairman and that the PIF board has some government ministers involved. The seperatation issue has always been a legal one rather than a denial that government has some involvement. Also that the issue with the takeover is believed to be about much more than any government and PIF separation issue. Which is why they refused PL arbitration on the issue and instead went to court. Basically the PIF/Saudi state separation thing is an excuse.
  9. He's the public face of PIF, we all knew that already. That doesnt equal him being ultimately the main man in control of day to day decision making though which is what is in question. So nah he's not right at all. The fact he's commenting sarcastically about him "obviously being nothing to do with it" shows what a clown he is. Nobody at all has said he's got nothing to do with it, simply that he isn't the one running it day to day. There's a panel of people making decisions on its aims and a main guy doing the day to day decision making, a man who has already gone through PL tests.
  10. No it didn't. I said they don't offer the same, I said nothing specific about the size of the club they could be. You've already said yourself they do not have the potential to be as big as NUFC. So you in fact agree with me.. The argument was made that if we go down why would the Saudis want to continue buying NUFC to bring us back up when they could just buy Leeds. As if Leeds are just some like for like replacement. I'm saying IMO they would not be a like for like replacement.
  11. Quicker to just buy Leeds. Except Leeds don't offer the same package, nowhere near. Not this year or any other year.
  12. No he should be banned for evading his previous ban surely? Not asking for a ban, don't care much about his posts. But that would seem a legitimate reason.
  13. "Don't blame the PL blame Saudi Piracy" is the gist of that article.. If the PL rejected the takeover citing piracy that point would hold more water. As it is they didn't, they made other excuses to delay for eternity until the buyers gave up. They've acted horrendously and deserve blame, as do others of course.
  14. The letter that BeIN sent to the PL and other clubs basically saying the takeover should be blocked (with their £500m PL license negotiation about to be up for renewal) was pretty real like. The PL might have used other excuses but this was a massive reason behind it, if not the only reason then by far the biggest IMO.
  15. Any changes would have no barring on arbitration or any legal case that is focused on something that happened before those changes.
  16. In what way? Yeah not particularly enlightening IMO. She doesn't really seem to have her finger on the pulse of what's gone on to be honest. "If they [Premier League] had ongoing dialogue with PIF within a reasonable timeframe its difficult to prove they delayed the test".. What gives her the impression this was a reasonable time frame? I mean its to be proven either way obviously but she's saying that as if it seems very likely it was reasonable, which it doesn't at all. Wether it was or wasn't looking in from the outside, going by all previous OD tests, it looks excessively long in the extreme. That's before we even talk about info we've heard about the question they were asking being answered numerous times and still asked again repeatedly. Now people can say the answer might not have been acceptable to the PL, but the response to that is to make a decision based on that unacceptable answer. Not to just keep repeating the question again and again, that's absolutely a delaying tactic in anybody's book.
  17. Courts and judges also a waste of time because sometimes the wrong decision is made?
  18. Kicks him twice, no pen and commentators universally agree, bizarre.
  19. Sorry, I don't get what you mean with your second sentence. Can you expand on that at all? Basically, Mimms' 'source' reckons LK is getting info from a certain someone, who in turn is getting it directly from Staveley. Are you talking about Wraith here? So Wraith, the ultimate self promoting gobshite, is keeping quiet and giving his info to someone else to gain themselves credit at his expense? Now either Wraith is deeply in love with Kennedy or this is bollocks.
  20. I’m sure if the bid is still on the table they can’t just change the rules ffs Im sure they can tbh citing the PIF public withdrawal PIF are not the consortium, they can't assume a process ends based on a portion of its funding. Especially considering arbitration has already started. I mean either way they can change the rules at any time. But that doesn't change any court action, in fact it may help any case against them.
  21. Everyone is saying no to it, but the Saudi takeover shows most will ignore their moral conscience when it suits. Why should it just be based on morality though? I don't even understand how people could truly enjoy victory if they knew its all rigged in there favour anyway.
  22. again, what were you expecting? As far as I can tell it’s all going to plan. Also it’s been confirmed De Marco is involved in a legal battle with the PL from what I can see the man works wonders. but aye this all might take a good while which is very frustrating It's not really a direct result of todays, erm, news. It's just the whole thing seems a f***ing mess and this is just adding to it, I have been pesimistic for a while basically because we don't get good things, and this farce isn't making me feel much better about it. Not sure where everyone is getting the confidence from tbh. If I heard something from NDM about how his work is coming along, I'd probably feel different but this other stuff is being played out far too publically which never ends well. Fair enough. I don't get the idea that it's somehow a farce. This is a legal battle against a incredibly stubborn entitled organisation. It was never going to be straight forward or cordial. They seem to be trying to create a overwhelming legal storm. If its correct that the fans group are working with club and buyer approval, which seems pretty certain. That's never going to be pretty, but might work. Masters might run out of flop sweat blocker and just settle for fear of dying of dehydration.
  23. How can they possibly have more confidence than when they said "its a matter of days away". 6 months ago. That line is an obvious lie. While everyone would like to believe what these "sources" are hinting at, their track record is abysmal. Why should we believe these people now, honestly? All I can see is them pulling out of legal action citing time constraints or some other excuse (they've already laid the groundwork for this). I'd be amazed if this goes anywhere. Who said anything about 6 months ago?, you're stating something as a lie based on vague assumptions.
