  1. Oh please.. How about selling Taylor to bring in something we need much more?, a good striker. Taylor's our third choice center back at the moment and even the ancient Campbell would be ahead of him.
  2. Is this definitely not on any radio channel?
  3. Yes!, stop the rumours in the rumours thread, its totally off topic! EDIT: That website is shit like

Wahey! To be fair I think most people will realise that in the main Everton fans are annoyed about losing the fee they could have gotten for Gosling rather then losing the player. Though after reading some of the opinions of Everton fans on here I was suprised to find some fans on Everton forums being quite disapointed to lose the player, and not just because of a lack of a fee.

The only thing that concerns me is that the Evertonians are all saying he is slow and lacks flair. You would like to think he has one of the two, like for instance Guthrie, who might not be quick but has some ability on the ball. However at the same time they seem to think they should be getting £3-5m for him which would suggest there's more to his game than they care to admit. Looking at their forums plenty of them think he's a good squad player now with the potential to become a very good player in future. Apparently he's decent on the ball, but his main attributes are an ability to get into goal scoring situations, a good shot, excellent workrate and a nack of scoring important goals.

The club (and fans from what I've seen on forums) wanted to keep him and rated him at around £4m so of course its going to matter to them despite him only being a squad player at the moment. He's only 20 and can still improve after all.

To be honest, I'd agree that none of them are excessively bitter (especially the first one which is very fair), considering what's happened. That second one is a bit cringeworthy though

What's he supposed to be checking? I doubt he wants to read that pompous shit a second time

for the best until something happens which wont for another week or so Could only be a few days if they don't apeal.
  10. Considering the calibre of players they've signed in the past it wouldn't take much to make people say wow.
  11. People are suggesting trying to loan Ireland, not sign him permanently.

Yet even in that scenario we'd still end up with a free young player on reasonably low wages who at worst we could sell on (and be at least good backup until then). How can that be a bad deal for Newcastle?

Wasn't Sturridge rated considerably higher then Gosling? EDIT: Man City rated him at £7m, they got half that.

IF there's any compensation it'll be a fraction of what the player was rated at, which was about £4m-£5m.
  15. What a bunch of bitter cunts, as if Bolton are an attractive option I'm sure Gosling was raring to play in front of 20k fans at some shithole of a stadium for a club that have never been and never will be anything other then fodder, but we offered him more money so he decided against it..

He's only going cheap because Everton fucked up their contract offer, otherwise it would have taken a good few million to sign him. As it is we've (if true its true.. I don't want to jinx it) nearly doubled what Everton were offering him and probably promised him a much bigger role here then he was getting their. IF this happens we've signed two players before the middle of July. which is promising. Being negative about it is quite pathetic IMO.
  17. Drogba missed an open goal in the world cup. What's your point? I remember Forlan missing the easiest open goal chance I've ever seen when he was at Manure.
  18. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-utd/2010/07/11/newcastle-sweat-as-race-for-dan-gosling-hots-up-79310-26827341/http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-utd/2010/07/11/newcastle-sweat-as-race-for-dan-gosling-hots-up-79310-26827341/ that would be a neat trick considering everton have 14 days from the day of the tribunal to appeal its judgement so he can't really make a decision until that time has elapsed Him & his agent will be argeeing terms now with clubs. can't actually sign a deal until the whole thing with everton is fully sorted as evertons appeal may be succesful and they may be due compensation for him He can sign a deal, it would just be unwise for any club to do so now unless they're prepared for the possibility of paying compensation.

Surely you accept that Forest fans and Newcastle fans are going to have two entirely different views on what constitutes a substantial transfer fee? Out of interest where did you get info on the top 6 spenders in the Championship for the last two seasons? (I collect marginally pointless financial Football info like that).
  20. The same rag said we were signing him yesterday. I suppose if they claim he's signing for a different club each day then they have to be right once
  21. I'd prefer the debut but without the following uselessness personally.
  22. We don't have the money to sign him, he'll cost at least £5m. You mean like the £5 million we offered for Erding?
  23. Am a bit wary about this deal. Old bacon face will probably expect Newcastle to give him Haris Vuckic for nowt to show their thanks and appreciation for lending Cleverley. My problem with that deal is that I know that Hughton will play Cleverly all the time like he did with Simpson as well. Is Cleverly that good? I haven't seen him play a lot tbh, but I don't think he'd be better than a fully fit Barton or Guthrie. He's comfortably better then both of them.
