Most clubs don't pay for transfers up front and managers certainly won't expect large initial sums so this isn't a issue.
-
Even if a takeover happened late with no time to strengthen and we got relegated, I'd still love the season more than almost any under Ashley. At least I could support the club again, go to games ect. Right now my plan is to ignore everything to do with the club (except potential takeovers) while that piece of shit is still in charge.

You. Making a bid on eBay isn't agreeing a price, it's a bid on an auction site. The club isn't up for auction. The exact nature of the bid isn't relevant, a bid isn't limited to any specific situation such as a auction site. A bid is to offer a specific amount of money for something that's for sale.
-
I can make a bid on ebay and then refuse to buy the item, that doesn't change the fact I made a bid. If they've agreed a price for the potential purchase of the club that's a bid, or offer, or however to want to describe it. Otherwise when is the bid exactly? Even with a house you can pull out of the purchase after making an official offer.

The fucker is monumentally stupid.

Just because the TV money is more than the season ticket sales doesn't mean losing the season ticket sales won't have a big impact. It will. He’s likely just to sell even more and sign even less. Does it really matter though? While he's here the club doesn't matter at all, not IMO anyway, each to their own. Only thing I care about now is him gone, anything else (who we sign, who we sell, next manager, relegation ect) means fuck all IMO except how it relates to Ashley fucking off.
-
Was totally bizarre and a few had previously backed him on here as knowing him and that he was ok. I know I'm pro takeover, but would I f*** even think about faking stuff to try and get people to think something was happening What happened exactly?, missed this completely. EDIT: Seen it now, bizarre thing to do.

It doesn't seem pointless, it is pointless, stop talking about it. Stop giving a shit.

A multi billion pound company and its expensive lawyers don't just take some cockney wide boys word for things "you reckon all debt is gone eh Mr Ashley?, mint here's cash in hand"... They go through everything and have a singed legal agreement on what they're buying to the last detail.

VAR worked. The referee didn't. the decision was still wrong despite VAR so therefore VAR didn't work VAR isn't there to make the decision though, the ref has the final say. You can have every aid in the world but if the ref is as hopeless as that with video help, you need better refs. so therefore its a waste of time and money. I despise this system it disrupts the game and if its not even leading to the correct decision then whats the point of it existing Nothing can ever give us "the correct decision" every time. Most decisions in Football are open to interpretation, so its not possible to make them always go the way everybody in the world thinks they should. I mean people on here argue over decisions after seeing them 10 times each, in fact its rare to find people that agree even on the most black and white things. The only thing that can ever be achieved is to give people the best opportunity to make the right decision. The idea that VAR is a waste of time unless it makes refs perfect is fucking ridiculous.

I get the thinking behind the abuse, but Ashley has literally sat there and laughed at supporters in the ground giving him abuse. So would I counting all of that money that section in the ground has just given me. Turn up on match day without a ticket and give abuse outside the ground. Imagine a empty stadium with 50-60k outside instead for the entire matching doing nothing but abusing that fat cunts name. £30m down in season ticket cash, Sky would have more cameras outside the ground than in, meaning Sky money would drop. He'd be gone within a month, unfortunately its not going to happen.

Ok that's me done.

Sorry not going along with these conspiracy theories. Let's just wait until the 30th, but I honestly think that's a bit far fetched mind. It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a fucking good idea. Its a good idea to setup a group of people to buy your own club so you don't have to sell it to someone else? What are you on about man?

As much as Rafa is key atm I do agree with this. New owners could come in and appoint Mourinho he goes on to win the FA Cup or league people would forget about Rafa quickly Sacked while 16th with Chelsea Then wasted £400million at Man Utd sounds the perfect man for a Sheikh investment. I think everyone would rather have new owners and Benitez staying. But I also agree the most important thing has to be new owners. With Ashley here all a top manager like Rafa can do is continue to bail water out of the dilapidated and sinking ghost ship that is NUFC, he'll never be allowed to do anything more under this fat cunt. New owners with some kind of ambition are required for the club to really mean something again.
-
You claimed the club hadn't confirmed anything, then when you're shown to be wrong (again) you move to "well they're liars". Surely you can see why people aren't taking you seriously?
-
No, they just have no idea what's happening. They’ve been like that since the dawn of time and it never stopped them posting shit before. Agreed. They must’ve had hundreds of requests for comment today and not one of them has made mention of anything. Just seems odd tis all. Not beyond the realms of possibility that they’ve agreed to embargo themselves in exchange for access to a big story. If all is silent tomorrow too we know something is up If tomorrow is silent how would it be any different from the last 30 days He's talking about silence of journalists.
-
Additional income from that would be peanuts compared to all the TV money. Not if average prices increased and more expensive corporate facilities were added and taken up, which wouldn't be a problem if we showed ambition.
-
When was it introduced? And have they taken steps to address this criticism? One thing I don't like is how long it takes, you're right, and you only see the two officials huddled around a monitor. Again, it didn't really affect my overall excitement of the game, it was a minor stoppage in play. In football, especially, watching teams like Stoke comes with far more stoppages and pain. I would say that the major difference is the importance of a goal in football vs scoring in basketball. The feeling of celebrating a goal in football really isn't mimicked in basketball unless you're in buzzer beater territory, at which point the VAR/stare at the monitor process is a little more palatable anyway. VAR in it's current implementation robs the fans of really feeling that rush after their team scores. Whether it's chalked off or not. I never feel that rush about us scoring in the moment even without VAR, because I always expect our goals to be disallowed. I mean even our penalties get fucking disallowed after we score FFS!
-
Officials will always get things wrong, or at least do things people disagree with. Its rare people agree on here or anywhere else after seeing incidents many times over. At least VAR removes the "ref didn't see it/was in a bad position" excuse. It should also improve in how its used given time as well, so I'm all for it.
-
He never has to come out and say anything about ambition or transfer money ect, but he has in the past to put pressure on the club. Unless he's happy to be offered something he isn't willing to accept then why would he stay quiet? Point is Benitez isn't the type to just sit their quietly if he's unhappy about something.
-
No but he could be speaking out a lot more, he's been quite quiet as far as demanding things of the club in the press like he has in the past.
-
Whey, I know 100% I won't be having anything to do with the club in that instance. I was ready to walk away before Rafa came in, he's the only thing that's kept me involved. Can only hope others feel the same if it comes to it. But yeah in all likelihood the stadium will probably still be full for the foreseeable future.
-
None of them were setups.. The only thing setup about any of it was the timing of leaks about those past takeover attempts, which always happened near transfer windows.
-
Only separated by 1.3 million votes?
-
So he's both crap at football, and dumb. Nah he can definitely speak, I've seen him being interviewed before.
