I did try to explain where the £60m could come from. I don't think it is that far off really. At best its correct but being used in a very misleading way, possibly due to simply being misunderstood. After all when Football fans talk about transfer profit they don't mean accounting profit, they mean transfer money in vs transfer money out.
-
I'd predict a smaller loss then the last accounts, but a significant loss none the less.
-
Don't get it either..
-
Don't bother to work it out, its not worth it
-
Didn't realise he was talking about transfers since nowt is mentioned about that in the title. That's almost worse really since we can all see how much has been spent and brought in through transfers (within a few million either way anyway). We've brought in about £75m from transfers and spent about £56m.
-
To be fair they were docked 9 points which means they've had nothing to play for since March.
-
He's gone from a £30m loss to a £60m profit in two years during which time we were relegated and lost £50m in revenue? Amazing that like, some would say its completely unbelievable and in fact total bollocks

Current shirt http://images.soccerscene.co.uk/images/Newcastle-Homme-shirt-0910.jpg Sexy Mockup http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/5241/newcastle10.png The horrible black box stuck on the front and placement of the badge and adidas logo totally ruins the current shirt for me. That mockup design is much better IMO.
-
Its not the best mockup, but still better then our current strip if only for the lack of the horrible stuck on box. This is clearly the best one though: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/5241/newcastle10.png If that was the real strip I'd buy three!

Nah has to be one big fishing trip this, I'm getting out of this looney bin EDIT: Finally some sense from the Minister

So you've forgotten his decent performances earlier in the season already? He's not particularly good, I'd try to get rid of him in the summer. However we're talking about Butt, are you telling me he's contributed no more then Nicky Fucking Butt?
-
Smith at least does the basic job, he doesn't overstretch himself with some delusion that he can play 40 yard passes every few minutes, or push on and be a attacking threat. Butts a complete liability, Smith just isn't that good. Anyway you've got to be and I'm not playing
-
Probably because they don't produce identical performances. On several occasions this season Smith's done what Butt is supposed to be doing. Breaking up opposition play and passing it simple to our own players. Without the attempted Hollywood long balls that go wrong every few minutes and crucially giving away dangerous freekicks to the opposition the rest of the time.
-
That's a fair point, tbh. Still, Butt did provide our most skillful and athletic moment of the season. That was some decent comic relief I suppose.
-
Closet Butt fan? At least Xisco not being here saved us some money, what did Butt being here do for us?
-
Lets get Xisco back and let him lift the trophy, he's done more for our cause this season by not being here then Butt has.
-
done as much as smith who no-one seems to have a problem with. He hasn't done nearly as much as Smith, who actually had some good games earlier in the season.
-
That's so contradictory They say Hughton knows he'll need more then £15m (so we'll sell Taylor), then they suggest we'll sign players that wouldn't cost anywhere near £15m let alone more.
-
Won't help Liverpool much, the amount of money that comes in from the Uefa cup is tiny compared to their usual Champions League entry.
-
Plymouth do seem to have some of the better fans we've come accross this season, along with Blackpool who I thought were very honest and respectful. But I don't agree with the way their club acted, and I think the majority of their fans would agree. I really hope nobody's suggesting we should learn from the antics of their management like. Would anyone here be happy if we got relegated in the same game as Manure won the Premiership and our club bent over and took it up the arse to satisfy the big club on our own territory? I'd be baying for blood.
-
I also said Hughton was a poor manager with balls like a used teabag and most people agreed with that sentiment if I remember correctly. No doubt he's done very well in the Championship, but I'm still wary of him in the top division.
-
Is Petrov on massive wages or something?
-
Don't think so, at the time most of them blamed the club from the people I talked too. Now I doubt many give it a second thought, would have been nice to sign him but he's just not that big a deal.
-
Would the Arsenal game have had a fanzone? Because I'd love to see the fanzone commentary
-
Probably just wants to be proven right with regards to his opinion that he should have come here instead of Wigan, I can understand that I suppose. We all have pet dislikes and want to see certain clubs do poorly based on things that are often quite petty when looked at in the cold light of day. Personally I've got no problem with him, we never had any fee agreed anyway, Wigan offered the money Palace wanted and got him.
