  1. Why not?, the Spuds have done it with Defoe.
  2. It's basically what he's done with 50% of the Milner money. Where's that £6million? Surely that could be used to buy at least one or two decent players instead of us having to sell first. Selling one player and finding yourself unable to replace him, or simply deciding not to replace him is quite different to selling 4 or 5 players and not replacing them, that's called guaranteeing relegation and isn't in the fat pricks interests.
  3. IMO all of those players should go, appart from Given. We need to totally get rid of the shit overpaid injury prone moaning losers in the squad and start again with better younger players who are happy to play in one of the best stadiums in the country. Unfortunately this isn't the window to do it, if we sell all those players we'll them need to sign 4 or 5 good quality players in this window to improve, which is important if we're going to make sure of staying in the league. Which isn't going to happen.
  4. That's not the impression I get from his comments on the issue.
  5. That's not the issue. If he wants to leave he should put in a transfer request.
  6. We should definitely fine our players for these kind of comments. Its no different to any other job, if you tell the press inside info on your company, especially damaging info you'd get sacked. We can't sack them but we can fine them. To be clear I've got no problem with player expressing their opinions, but what N'Zogbia is doing is trying to induce a transfer without having to actually ask for one, greasy little cunt!
  7. So he's seven times better then Smith Seriously while I don't really like Mido he's still far better then Smith, and if we can get him in a straight swap on not too high wages I'd be happy enough with the deal.
  8. You can't compare Downing to Veron and Shevchenko. Absolutely, Downing's a much better premiership player then either of them
  9. We'd have a better team, better squad (since Smith and Cacapa are useless) and knock millions per year off the wage bill, sounds like a plan.
  10. He's a volatile player off the pitch though and has been out of form for a while. Also we're a club in freefall whilst Man City aren't. He could do better than us and he knows it. They're very much in freefall at the moment, much more so then us. Of course they have the hope/promise of buying themselves out of it while we don't. Though they're signings/targets so far have hardly been inspiring IMO.
  11. I'd say this is the most moronic thread ever, there was some stiff competition out there on the net but this is the winner alright!
  12. Sky Sports News just had quotes from Stewart Downing's dad. He was saying that Downing has become frustrated that Boro are once again struggling near the bottom of the table and that's why he's decided he has to go to the Spuds. Who are currently struggling near the bottom of the table on exactly the same points as Boro
  13. Sorry yes your right, I should have said that our net spend for the two seasons before Ashley was £35 million while the net spend for Ashley's first two years has been about £5 million per season. Net spend for 2006-2007 itself was about £10 million. I'll edit my post.
  14. Logically well over £100 million in revenue a season. Meanwhile costs will be down from previous seasons. Where's the profit going Mike you fat prick? Didn't the books show for the season ending in 2007 that we were going to make a £30 million loss? We've got the extra sky money but if we are making a profit I wouldn't think it was much, unless you think such a dramatic turnaround has happened in the last 18 months. Yeah you're right we made a big loss in 2006-2007. £8 million of that was interest payments though, plus we're now making £20 million more per season from TV money, which basically wipes that loss out. Meanwhile we spent about £35 million net on transfers in the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons, while in the last couple of seasons our net spend has been around £5 million per year. Of course not all of that transfer money will have been included in the financial statements from the respective year, but its a good indication that 2006-2007's spending in that area would have been significantly higher. I definitely don't believe we're making massive profits now by the way. Just good profits, and I don't think we're seeing that spent on players.
  15. As much as I think Given's a great keeper I don't think him leaving would cause us to be relegated. In fact selling Given and spending the money on a really good central midfielder would greatly improve our chances of staying up. Simply because we have good cover in goal, while we don't have a single really good central midfielder. Having said that we shouldn't have to sell Given to finances the signing of a midfielder.

  17. I'd rather have Bentley or Pvlychenko. Having said that, I'd rather have all three mentioned ahead of our strikers. Why?!
  18. Like people have said where was the alternative to Modric? Also if Milner was only sold because the offer was too good to refuse then why wasn't that money re-invested in players? We were willing to spend £40 million net but we just keep failing and ending up basically breaking even? I gave them the benefit of that doubt at first, three windows later I don't believe it anymore!
  19. Woodgate never made Shay feel so sick he wanted out. Can't actually remember Given blaming Coloccini like.. By the way, Coloccini is better then Bassong in some ways and Bassong is better in others, that's why they work well together. I stick by my opinion that Coloccini will be better then Woodgate ever was here, simply because he'll be a class player that plays every game. If you're judging them on when actually playing he won't be better than Woodgate. Really don't know what you're trying to say.
  20. Is it you who's added the hack-tastic interpretation of Mourinho's words there Sicko?
