Class, that. Some goals I’d totally forgotten.

My little ‘un is 7 and is just starting to get into footy properly, playing for a team, playing FIFA, etc. He’s always asking me to rank players and stuff, and asked who the most exciting player to ever play for us was. Naturally, I said HBA, and he’d never heard of him, so I showed him a couple of highlight reels and he was mesmerised. Now he won’t stop talking about him and wants him on a shirt, etc. I’ve never been prouder. It’s such a shame there aren’t many/any like him in modern football, as that’s a perfect example of how one player can captivate a youngster. He can’t get his head around him retiring so early and never really making it big, but neither can I really.

What a pair of signings those two are, man, both seem like such canny lads as well. Hope they’re here for years to come.

There’s no way he’s been better than Burn at CB in recent times in terms of all-round game, passing out from the back he’s clear though. There’s very little between him and Fab, but until Botman puts a run of games together or stays fit for any sort of prolonged period there’s no argument between the two. I’ve said it before, but he’s been available for fewer matches than Woodgate was for us in his time here on average, which is absurd when you think about it.

Tonali has been poor in possession for ages and isn’t doing enough defensively these days to compensate. We are just a bit of a mess in general on the whole, though, compared to our usual extremely good standards.
