  1. Just to clear things up a bit, as far as I'm aware the club would have to pay the initial cost of installing the scoreboard (at least some of it) and would then be looking to recoup and build on this money over the coming years with sponsorship and suchlike. It would be an investment. I think this is why it's been held up in the pipeline for so long. Obviously there could be a possibility that a sponsor could pay for installation and enter into a contract whereby they have branding on the scoreboard unit and advertisements on the display as well, over a long-term period, but that doesn't seem to be the case right now. It's not cut and dried either way, basically, like most things.
  2. Nobody beats that. I don't even begin to know how people come up with stuff like that. Killed me.
  3. Brings in loads of money through sponsorship, I suppose, which is the be-all-and-end-all these days. I'm not a huge fan, but like you say plenty of the "big" teams have one. The scoreboard plans have been in the pipeline for a good while now.
  4. This lad could be excellent really but he's going to have to get some first team football sooner rather than later whether that be here or for another team, on loan. Doesn't seem to fancy interviews too much like!

    Tony Adams Sacked

Never heard of Harry Redknapp like?
  6. I did actually agree with you if you read it again You do have a nasty habit of looking at everything in "black" or "white", though, which was the follow-up point... and even that's being kind when I'd best most would only grant you the former.
  7. nowt to say then ? Just joking man, I'm pretty bored, we all know spending money improves your chances of doing well, but it's not a given, you need the right manager, the right scouts and the right amount of money but you can do well without spending massive amount if you have the right manager e.g. Moyes and Everton. on the other hand, if you are lucky enough to get a decent manager, and it IS a lottery, and don't back him, he'll be off. Like Moyes, unless Everton are taken over or it all suddenly goes tits up for him. When you say "do well", how well do YOU want to do ? It's a lottery getting a good manager? No it's a skill, not an easy one but it is definately a skill. is it now ? We'll see how easily Arsenal replace Wenger and ManU replace Ferguson. Or Everton replace Moyes .......... Even a "good manager" isn't necessarily the "right manager", which I suppose adds credence to NE5's "lottery" theory. Bit simplistic on the whole though, as usual.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack Tagadab had one of them to deal with, which would explain the slowness across their service. Sorry folks, but nothing to do with us for once!

Managed to get a server report, at least, although it took ages to complete and showed no signs of any trouble at our end. Tagadab.com itself was acting in the same manner to be honest, so it might be a pipe problem rather than our own server. Will try and get some information.

Is the forum slow as bollocks for anyone else?
  12. Have to agree with that. Makes Nicky Butt looks competant in the DM role. Unfortunately in a recent interview on the official site Kinnear was talking about him as "adding bite to the midfield".

    Aston Villa

They remind me of us under Robson. Scared of nobody, quick, exciting football, proper manager, good club. Will be glad to see them break the monopoly, but obviously wish it was us again.
  14. Feeling it. When did Habib tell you he was back again mate? The squad is coming together nicely again at a similar time to what it did last season, although our run-in appears a fair bit trickier on paper! I'd be satisfied enough with a draw the way Everton are playing at the minute, but a win would obviously be huge.
  15. He does have a lot to offer at times when we're struggling, but it can't be argued that he's been the most frustrating player on our books for a long, long time now. Like Bob says, the idea that he's shite is indellible now and it's not going to shift, so for that alone I think he should be moved on. He's not a world-beater but he's useful as a squad player when you look at him through unblinkered eyes, he is a Premiership level player but he does struggle with a lot of what you would expect to be "basics" for someone on the money he's getting. I think we're stuck with him for a while yet so we might as well support the lad as best we can. He's never going to shed his reputation though and he'll always be one of the first players who is howled at with derision, while others escape similar abuse for similar faults. Ideally he'd have gone in the summer, for decent money.
  16. I just find it funny these days. He's a clever bloke, knows what he's doing.
  17. Kaizy, baby, go and have a wank or a cold shower. Or both.

  19. Woah woah woah... let's not go putting unrealistic deadlines on stuff now, eh!?
  20. Spurs, Stoke, 'Boro. Spurs going down would be the funniest thing imaginable in football terms, although I'd miss playing them, Stoke are a stinker of a team who need to go back to where they belong and 'Boro doesn't really need any explanation. Mainly for their small-time fans ahead of any real dislike of the club or the people there.
  21. I actually got that shirt, and its lush must be said, recommended, also bought the Jonas shirt for a Newcastle friend of mine for his birthday (wich made him a very happy man, the asked the question what he would do with it when Jonas actually scores) I've ordered that Jonas one and had thought the same too! Also got "Duff is duff" on the way, which I thought was a safe bet until I saw Football First last night...
  22. Well done to junkhead, too, for what I think is one of the most erotic things I've ever seen. I genuinely think that a forum based on that design, allied with the hand-drawn logo he has already produced as well, could look absolutely fantastic. Just give us a few years to get it sorted...
