  1. Aye, lack of movement or lack of running off the ball is what does my head in most. Whether it is that they are told to hold certain strategic positions on the pitch or they just don't train well enough to do it.... No idea!
  2. Mostly have an anxious feeling if going to away matches when entering and leaving periphery of ground, Liverpool and/or Leeds were always the worst back in the day... Used to properly crap myself when I worked as a steward at Bradford FC for a couple of months, stand in a line between home and away fans and try to keep the peace (gulp). I have once been "scared" to say something but properly annoyed about it at SJF, two very big ugly tattoed "knackas" marched to the fornt of the food queue at half time and ordered their food without anyone saying a word. Looked like they'd both come out of prison the day before. I was with my two kids and one of them was moaning about them, quietly covered his mouth... I have always felt uneasy at England matches, seem to attract only scum of the earth, don't know why...
  3. I would go for the Williamson back post corner & free kick plan this weekend as they are a team full of midgets, apart from Skrote-l and Gerrrrrro. The main difference in tactic being that williamson is absent and saylor in his place. Colo needs to man mark Buck-Cheat and that will render them completely useless...
  4. Another issue is that he's always played on the left, he's a right footer so when we moan about his crosses it's because he either has to turn back on his right or put in a crappy cross with his weak foot... We may see a different player if he was on the right, wouldn't do us any harm to see HBA on his stronger left side either??? Another thing Jonas does well is hold the ball up well under pressure, when we are under the cosh he is great at drawing a foul or getting the ball out of tricky places and to one of ours.
  5. Aye, he is much more suited to a 433. Fergie, sammy or Oberton would be much better for us in a 442 (**if we want to win the game, rather than hedge our bets!**)
  6. I am not sure whether he is under instruction not to push as far up the field, he doesn't seem to commit to attacks as much as he used to and he never hugs the byline like he used to when playing 442. As for names on the team sheet his would be in amongst the definites, in this order: Krul-Colo-Ba-Cabaye-HBA-Jonas-Tiote

The pace for me, they are used to much more time on the ball and more elaborate paly therefore. When against prem league sides they struggle to do this and make more mistakes, apart from one or two obvious teams (Barca)
  8. Let's just hope they spend it on movement off the ball and passing to our own team...
  9. They play in the fizzy cup tomorrow, let's hope Gerrro and Buck Teeth Cheat both get injured or extremely tired. I never like this fixture, we never turn up to be honest. Would be nice for Pards to have them making space and passing & running this week, we just don't seem to be clicking. A bit of confidence would be nice. I think we need Saylor back in defence just for a bit of extra pace, Williamson and Colo leave us bereft of speed at the back. Would also like Pards to grow a set of balls and Put Ba back on the left of a 433: ----------------------Krul---------------------- Simpson-----Saylor---Colo--------Santon ----Cabaye-------Bigi--------Jonas ---- HBA----------------Cisse--------------Ba

"Confidence" is the main word missing here. I think I have only seen bits and pieces this season when the team has played with a little verve and passed the ball around like a team that knows they're not going to lose it. Lately, we seem to play only the "safe pass" unless we are twenty yards into the opposition half, our movement has also been very pedestrian and predictable, we need more freedom and interchange of positons to compliment our attacks. The only attacking formats we employ at the moment are: Ben arfa... on your own mate! Santon overlap Long ball to ... Shola/Ba/cisse (whoever is last man) On paper we should be a lot better... Who is to blame? players and confidence (we didn't buy anyone of note in summer, are they disgruntled? Is it that they don't fit into either a 442/433?) Or Are Pards and the backroom getting all the decisions wron? Team selection...System...Training Team selection and system for me... Sorry but we just aren't doing it, Cut Pard's cock off so that he can friggin concentrate on what he's supposed to be doin!!!

The only players who are performing consistently for Pardew at the moment, and that doesn't mean they are playing at their best (they need others and a system to help them reach this), are Colo, Ba and Ben Arfa. I don't think Pards' training sessions are the reason for this; Colo is our captain, Ba and Ben Arfa have been Mollycoddled for a while now and all get great plaudits from their manager...Roll on confidence levels! The rest of our team are playing in fits and starts, these boys are saving our bacon at the moment. Why is this? It can only be confidence when you get out on the field, I think we lack a reason to be there, we don't know whether to go all out, Attack or defend? possession or direct? knock it about and draw the oppostion forward and counter attack or just bung it up long ball all day. We lack a real system and a characteristic of play. Keegan had his "We will outscore the opposition", we knew we were going all guns no matter what... Dalgleish played a team of old mates who weren't up to it and our games were non descript without format whatsoever... Bobby played some very well organised 442 or 4411 which only fell apart when his team got too big for their boots. Everybody knew what was expected then... Pardew has great soundbites but the team hasn't got their own style yet, We need this so much. A team is a team and I don't think the 442 we play when all are fit is the answer, it just doesn't work for us. We all know the names on the sheet but the team just doesn't perform... What's the answer?

Agree completely, seems like we have no idea of which system to play and which players suit them better. It is great that we are playing shint and will hopefully start playing well soon at some point and start tearing teams apart...Have to be optimistic!
  13. 4-1-4-1 for me: ----------------Krul--------------- Simpson---Saylor---Colo---Santon ----------------Bigi----------------- HBA----Cabaye-----Jonas---Fergie ----------------Cisse (if ba out)----
  14. It's worrying that we can't seem to get into any rythym and keep it going for a while. We are relying on flashes of brilliance or the consistence of our main striker. We really do not know what our best side is or our best formation, too many changes for me at the moment. I think it's clear that shola can only play as a target man, simpson can only defend (to a certain level) and Perch is not up to holding the midfield together when we play 442. Nice to win when you're playing shi*t though! Liverpool away must be a 451 or 433. We can probably do this lot the way they are playing, if we keep Suarez quiet they look pretty ordinary.
  15. would think about bigi or anita on for perch, he's been clumsy first half, don't want to be playing with ten again...
  16. Aye, shola on the wing isn't very inspiring, mind he has won his share of the long punts. Yep, obertan or fergie on for me, both of them will track back a bt more aswell...
  17. They need to sort out the offside trap, been caught a couple of times already... Ben arfa lookin' magic!
  18. Having a look at the table, it would be better if Liverscum won or drew today to keep everton in check, also spurs losing would help. If we win we can only go up to tenth but their is a big group with little points difference up to fourth place. Still wide open if we win today!! Coomee onnn!
  19. Jacob will play according to Clarke's match interview, he has been training since thursday. Jerome Thomas is also in contention. We really should beat WBA at home though, with the defence at full strength I am confident we will nbe heard to get past, hope Pards picks the right midfield and formation so that we take the game to them. Cisse to score a stunner!
  20. I like the above formation, but I'd have Jonas in the middle instead of Bigi, gives us a little bit more "nous" in the middle whilst under pressure. Don't mind the front three but would think obertan will have a part to play at some point given the performances in Europe...
  21. Counter attacking fast football upfront with a solid base behind them: --------------------Krul------------------ Simpson-----Saylor-----Colo----Santon ----Cabaye----Perch----Jonas----- HBA-------------Ba-------------*Fergie or Oberton*
