  1. Athletic Bilbao, one of the best away atmospheres and we are still well rmembered!!

    Big Money Offer

I think we would get more from the sale of Coloccini than from Taylor, there are still doubts about him at prem level so I would go for him at 10 mill and get two replacements for centre back and right back. Enrique and >jonas is a partnership that Hughton would be very stupid to break. Taylor would also fill in a problem spot at right back if needed...
  3. Saying that, he has been excellent the second half of this season... Please prove me wrong as I will devour humble pie!!
  4. Colo will struggle this coming season, being left flat footed will be his downfall. The strikers in the prem are one hundred times what we have been up against in the Championship. Look at our strikeforce, by premiership standards it's very poor and we have a huge goals for in this division...
  5. Has anyone spotted Prince Charles' lovechild in the middle of that photo?
  6. Lovenkrands had some "gilt edged" chances last night and I thought sheffield were toothless up front. There goal was a lack of fight and concentration from our marker, gifted him that header... A fair score I thought, although the defenders around Nolan suffered some "matrix" slow motion reactions whilst he scratched his arse, positioned himself, took a sup and then overgut kicked the ball into the back of the net. As long as he keeps scoring I'm not too bothered. He was all over the pitch last night regardless of how "overweight" he looks to some. Good shift! Hughton kept faith well when they looked a bit lethargic in the first half and they fairly dominated the second. I'll put it down to his half time tea cup tantrum Well done to hughton and good luck for next season, I am 100% behind him and would be dissapointed if another manager was brought in.
  7. Live streams in abundance (see more games) People talking about us and what we do. Getting up the rest of UK's nose when we win a few on the trot Getting close to winning against one of the big boys and feeling that we can do it for about 20 mins (at home...) Silly transfer rumours Will he sell? Will he stay? Will he sell? Will he stay? Will he sell? Will he stay?
  8. My opinion is that Chris Hughton deserves his chance in the premiership for bringing us back up. His good points are: -Backing of the players -Has created a team and spirit -Has two quite tangible plans of action for home and away -spent well and loaned well (van whatshisname was excellent cover) -No public ego and handles press well, doesn't let tricky situations override team work His bad points are: -I seriously think the team haven't played "well" until the last few games -Hasn't started playing the "right" players until now and had too much faith in the senior players (smith/butt) previously. -Doesn't often have a plan B or at least thats what it looks like with substitutions or lack of. To be fair his positives outweigh his negatives...so give the man some slack and get behind him for the season coming!
  9. Good Enough: Jonas Taylor Coloccini Barton Nolan Guthrie Routledge Harper Krul Kadar Carrol williamson Enrique
  10. We will stay up if Chris gets 20 mill to spend. No doubt about that. New players with right attitude, no big time charlies!!!
  11. wolves / Bolton / Wigan /West Ham / West bromich Albion. Come on we can do these teams surely? I left the top eight out as they are much better than these sides...
  12. Let's look at the teams we will have to beat next year to stay up and to stay in the top half: Birmingham/Stoke/Blackburn/Fulham/Sunderland/
  13. I would be seriousy thinking about bringing the lad on this season. surely he is of age now to start competing with Harps, who is probably on his way down....
  14. I think we can push for midtable. The 20 million (?) chris will be given is enough for a right back, a dominant dentre midfielder and a striker. With these signings and the usual youngsters/loanees we should have a squad that will keep us up. I reckon that if the attitude is the same next season we should win those hull/stoke/sunland games which are bread and butter to any team looking for survival. YES, but depending on funds given. 100% confidence in Hughton also, have to admit I had my doubts earlier in the season due to his love fest for Smith/butt but now he seems to have got a grip completely..Well done mate!
  15. I think we need a pacy inventive striker rather than a warhorse like cole. Need somebody beardsleyesque or ashavinesque to complement either shola or carrol up front an to add an extra man in midfield. Need a midfield destroyer who imposes himself on the game beside either Barton or Guthrie. New Right back and cover for left back. Could be: Harper Perch (simpson)--- Taylor (Kadar)----Colo (williamson)---Enrique (NEW) Routledge (Raylor)---Barton (Guthrie)---NEW (Nolan)----Jonas (Loven) --------------------------Carrol (Shola)------Rodallega (Ranger)
  16. I also think that a grand majority of the fans would find it easier to forgive Ashley if he got rid of his sneaky mouthpiece who has no grasp of public relations and has a huge chip on his shoulder towards our loyal support. If he puts in a half decent transfer chest and continues with his long terms plans including the soucing of youngsters and cheap players from first division we may be on to a winner with him. I am willing to give him another chance...Just hope he doesn't throw it back in my face???
  17. I would also agree with a net spend of around 15 million. I think our major problem if we want to sign any "good" players will be the newly enforced wage cap. this could put us out of reach of quite a few players. Need a striker who will guarantee 15 prem league goals. Need a centre midfielder who will also chip in. A creative midfielder come striker in the arshavin mould as we don't have anything like this at the moment....
  18. Playing quite well, just lack some definition up front. Back four look very calm and collected
  19. Irrelevant of whether he is doing this to get better resale value or to repay his earlier mismanangement, the truth is that we seem to be going in the right direction both on the pitch and management wise... I can't complain too much at the moment. We will all know the answer in the summer when he invests or doesn't....
  20. LOL.. Has a point though... Fat Lady preparing herself!

    Nile Ranger

Needs to be loaned out. Looks good on the pitch but lacks goals...
  22. I think we will scrape through at 17th or 16th, anything else would be unbeleivable. We need a decent right back as Simpson and Raylor are gash. We need to get rid of Butt, Smith, pancrate, Shola. We need a class striker and a centre midfielder with "presence". Couple of youngsters and loanees and we're away
  23. He really is doing far better than anyone expected. We all critisized FCB for making him manager last year and it looks to be another of his majestic decisions which turn out for the good.... I am delighted with Chris H., can't have done any better TBH, has eventually realised that Nicky and Alan are Shi*e and this bodes well...
  24. Weren't chelsea interested at some point due to the homegrown contingent coming into the rules in a year or so....
