If we are amortising the Tonali contract o ver six years it will propabaly work out at 20 M per year (purchase and wages). Means we have enough for two more similar signing to keep within FFP (Maddison/Dom + Other). Also, as every season goes by we will increase our revenue streams and will be able to spend more.

He is a typical italian “Regista”, the lowest midfielder who both starts the plays from defence and also who is the man who breaks up opposition attacks. A No.6 (pivot) who is both elegant and aggressive. Supposedly Italy’s best young midfielder… Would be a cracking signing and his best years ahead of him!

Iraola is very well respected in Spain for what he has done and the football he likes to play e.g. hard high pressing with quite direct attacking football.

At 17 million it looks like a bargain. Also, if it came down to choosing between Dom Soz and Maddison i think we would be getting a player more suited to Eddies philosophy if we got big Dom.

Would rather play the tough teams at the start of the season, some will not be playing at their best and we could take advantage… plus, nobody will be looking forward to playing us this season.

Had a quick look at the scouting reports; he is a right sided N.8 and has a great progressive pass rating and is a hard and relentless presser who reads the game like a modern day Yoda! PLEEEEEEEASE!!!!

Aye, I am not a huge fan of the high performance podcast. The pair of them just seem too far up their own backsides. They seem to generally compete with each other on who can ask supposed high brow management questions. I think we might evolve into a 4-1-4-1 this year. If we buy a specialist defensive midfielder to sit in front of the back four (three when wing backs get up pitch) we will always have 1 midfielder and 3 defenders to screen against counter attacks. We will also have more numbers up front for a high press and attacking zeal! If Kalvin phillips was available, and has no long term injury doubts, he would fit us perfectly. Would also look to get a pacy right back, the only tines schar has looked bad has been against speedy forwards (rashford/watkins). Add to the above a decent number 10 type (Dom or Mads) to unlock low block defences and we have a great starting eleven, with decent back up on the bench.

Obviously a loan to a decent championship club would do the world of good. If he looks quality we keep him, if not sell him on for a profit.
