I think we ran out of legs after our second goal, couple that with the mindset to play a bit more cautiously and you are instantly deeper in your own half and defending in a panicked fashion rather than playing your own game. Thought Mcclaren was to blame as the subs came on too late. Although Ayoze played well, he ran out of steam after 60 mins and so did Mitro shortly after, should have both been off earlier...

Loved it when he flattened Cahil early on.

very ponderous in possession in the middle, thauvin is only one who is trying to do things but is failing miserably at the moment. Wijnaldum is doing nothing and colback with the ball slows the game down too much. haidara looks scared of the ball, ayoze has been very sloppy. Can't see how we are going to get back into this game at all. Aarons and deJong for Sissoko and colback. Drop wijnaldum back???

I hope someone has sat this lad down and explained the damage he has done by having to miss three games and leaving us totally exposed up front. If he gets many more cards I am going to explode

He's refreshingly honest, next thing we need is for him to act upon the obvious faults in the team and personnel! If he does half of what we are suggesting this weekend then I'm happy with him.

Nzonzi is probably 60/40 defense/attack minded, the thing is he is decent at both and is big enough to hack it with any midfield. he isn't the most skillfull but he is dominant. Would have him in a heartbeat over the current two midgets.

He's not bad, he's just average and 100% average every game. I think Anita beats him on the popularity stakes here because he has a good game every one in three where he stands out more whereas poor jack is just consistently average every game.

One of the things that make me laugh most at Anita: when he is full pace running around the pitch, his little legs look like they are going a million miles an hour whilst his body moves in slow motion, kind of like if roadrunner was being held by an elastic band... (closest emoti I could find)

Agree with most of this, and as far as the forum goes; I think we have all stated what Gary neville did in the aftermatch, so he ain't really this genius everyone tries to make out. Gary, come and get a few lessons from us mate!!

Should be dropped, playing any system with only one striker means he is ill suited to play. Ayoze did it well last year so why not again this time round but with more experience, he has shown more in his appearances so far... no brainer for me!

For me he would fit better in a 433 where his role would be an inside right midfielder rather than the wider positions he takes up in a 4231. I think the whole team would benefit from a 433 or 4141 formation, the fact that we could have more of our better players on the pitch at the same time would help enormously. For what it's worth I though Moussa had a decent game on Monday, he covered a lot of ground defensively and helped janmaat out a lot, he wasn't as good going forward but the whole team seemed off-tempo. previous games he has looked like one of our only attacking outlets, i don't understand the abuse he is getting. i do understand he is not a champs league team standard player and should pipe down with his annoying comments, but for a team that looks to be in the top 5-10 then I think he would walk into most teams..

The defenders are also capable of bringing the ball out further themselves, anita shouldn't be dropping so deep ffs! he should find space further forward and make the opposing team commit players further forward to get the ball from our defense, thus leaving gaps in midfield. Both colback and anita are playing too deep, so when they want to pass forward the other midfieldddders/attackers/fullbacks are too far from them to make a pass hence the sideways or backward ball.

You are right about not being able to fit our best players on the pitch and into a system to suit. I honestly think a 433 would probably suit our players better but would mean no place for de Jong, a 4411 would also be something we could look to do with widemen and dejong/ayoze dropping between midfield and the forward. 4231 is just not happening for us and is making the players position themsleves too deep, i can't understand why we aren't asking colo or mbemba to bring the ball our further forward with more options in midfield up the pitch, our defenders are all capable of bringing the ball out. I am a bit sick of seeing our two central midfielders two yard in front of the defense and huge gaps to those further forward....

If we bring back tiote we should deffo go 433 with him as our central defensive pivot, flanked by wijnaldum and sissoko

He's had a couple of very good games and one horrible game (after getting shafted with Holland), we can give him the benefit of the doubt for a game surely...

Had some nice touches and passes last night, deffo think he needs to play saturday. Cisse just doesn't look up for it, Ayoze or DeJong swapping positions as striker / no10
