  1. Only futile optimism in this thread then we can all be on suicide watch when the inevitable happens...meanwhile lets be positive as we gorge the absolutely unbelievable tweets.
  2. From Paully And interpretation from Jack Chaytor ?? @jchaytor16 · 3h For anyone wondering 9H-VJQ is owned by Vistajet, who are a charter company. So anyone could be using this aircraft. As we know Ashley is in Miami, 9H-VJQ, has just been to miami. And now back in Riyadh??, also been to barbados, ashley was there not long ago #nufctakeover
  3. If any of you missed the MANU stuff seen earlier in one of the threads here it is:- https://mobile.twitter.com/ManuLonjon/status/1248565243384598528
  4. Starting the thread by moving this from Braindead to this thread...Thanks to Sheikhshearer for the idea. I’ll start the ball rolling.....From REDIT Turki Alalshihk, Saudi Royal Court advisor and Chairman of their Entertainment Authority has just started following NUFC’s official Instagram page... https://instagram.com/turkialalshik?igshid=k2uapx38lxzk
  5. I like this idea. Not everything will be on twitter so a separate thread would be better. Start it up! Call it something like "Futile Optimism - Saudi Takeover Edition". I like it....suits my feeling ATM

  7. Jinky Jim[/member] OK thanks.....thought it was just for Twitter bull....perhaps we can put in more takeover talk from other various sources......Thanks Greg
  8. Thought of that but thought it was just for twitter stuff.....I’m thinking more advanced bull?
  9. How about having a thread just for people, and I admit to include myself in this, who want to soak up and believe every weird and wonderful issue regarding the takeover....be it Twitter bullshit, flight appearances, ITK, or just I heard this from the taxi driver. At this time of global catastrophe, some very lighthearted positive reading about the takeover relieves the boredom during the day. All other proper discussion either believers or non believers about the takeover can remain to be discussed in this thread.Just an idea from someone who wants to believe everything positive I read.....sad as that probably sounds.Having supported us for over 50 years I just want rid of this devil incarnate and lap up any positive bull from all sources.Quite possibly yet another complete load of crap I’m scrolling.
  10. Newcastle about to be sold! Proof of the progress of negotiations, the recruitment unit has just been laid off until further notice! The club is looking for a new coach (Benitez back?) And is auditioning DS
  11. Cancelling Leagues and having current league position as final, then if we promote top 2 teams i suspect those teams fighting for play off positions may feel aggrieved.....Basically it’s “Dammed if you do Dammed if you don’t” situation. Whatever answer the Premier/EFL come up with, will not be a unanimous decision, but hey ho, there are more important issues around the world.Just thought I’d put in my twopenneth.
  12. Just using that as an example.i’m sure villa,Bournemouth etc wouldn’t like to be relegated because the season was rushed through just to placate the media. Placate the media? Eh? What's the media got to do with it? Why is next season, which doesn't exist, more important than finishing this season, which does? Flip this the other way...why are you so adamant that this season should finish with all the problems the country is facing. Why are you so adamant that next season should start with all the problems the country is facing? If we accept the notion that at some point football will resume, whether that be in a week, a month or a year, it should be the current season that we go back into. I'm not advocating they all kick off at 3 o'clock tomorrow. I’m not.....next season will start when the government deems it appropriate for sport to restart.Until then cancel the present season, as i don’t think IMHO that this season should be left in mothballs for months and months
  13. That's really dumb sorry. OK accept that

Sky Sports/BBC/Prime tv etc who pay for tv rights and are part of the £1 billion tv package
  16. So teams deserve to be given reprieve from relegation or not allowed to be promoted just so next season can start as normal..... As i mentioned earlier, teams in the top 2 positions in all the leagues would be promoted. Just no play offs.
  17. Just using that as an example.i’m sure villa,Bournemouth etc wouldn’t like to be relegated because the season was rushed through just to placate the media.
  18. Everyone to their own opinion...I’ll stick to my guns for all the reasons explained. And will you all be of the same opinion when Pork Pie Chops f**** up the remainder of the season behind closed doors and we sneak into the relegation places.Teams don’t deserve to be relegated purely to just finish off the season at all costs.
  19. Why do we have to finish this season.......Liverpool are champions, no relegations....current leagues position stands.Even if they are allowed to restart in June/July, the players will have had a longer close season than in a normal situation.Fitness levels will be low, training at home does not replicate full aerobic team training. There would have to be at least 3-4 weeks of pre season type friendlies to get everyone back to fitness levels. Behind closed doors or at a neutral venue does not reflect a fair contest Bournemouth v Leicester with no crowd hopelessly advantages Leicester...Norwich v Chelsea, AV v Liverpool....the home team would have expected a slight help. Is it fair that we’ve played all but Man City away and those teams in relegation positions against similar away venues now get to play them on a neutral ground. There are so many other reasons where clubs will be disadvantaged....I would hate to be relegated because Pork Pie Chops couldn’t gets his players motivated enough to get any more points etc etc.No for me, end the season now, prepare teams for the new season whenever it might start....oh and what about lost revenue for this season....we’ll how about try and negotiate a better deal for media companies next season, as a one off, to compensate them for lost revenue this season.....Rant Over!
  20. Only for one season....though I agree it’s not ideal
  21. SOME OF THE OPTIONS CONSIDERED Null and void the season End the season now Set a deadline for completion Play behind closed doors The season that goes on and on They seem to have missed out another option. Finish the season now....but no relegation in any league. Leeds and WBA promoted to Premiership. Coventry and Rotherham promoted to Championship. Crewe and Swindon promoted to League 1.Barrow and Harrogate promoted to League 2. All these promoted teams are top 2 in their division by merit, teams behind do not have games in hand. Play 2020/21 season in premier with 22 teams...more games i know, but offer Sky Sports/BBC/Prime Tv etc more games to view and some of them at 3pm..this carrot might offset them from asking for money back for 2019/20 season. At end of season Premier league has 4 relegated teams, and championship only promotes 2 teams, thus bringing premier back to 20. In Championship/League 1 and 2 only winners automatically promoted, whilst teams in positions 2-5 have playoffs. Personally i would hate to see this season played out just to accommodate the media, and i believe it would be unfair on teams in relegation positions to have to play games either in neutral surroundings or with no fans.....that negates all the advantages a team may have by playing at home in front of a big crowd....Anyway just an idea but i can’t see the government allowing 50000plus to gather for a match up and down the country for many months to come....and as an extra incentive..Sunderland miss out on promotion and have to spend a third season in League 1
  22. Match 28 last year was against Burnley(we won 2-0) giving Rafa 31 points and 13th Position......assuming we lose next Saturday (v Burnley) we will have 31 points, a vastly poorer goal difference and possibly 15th place(at best 14th).Perhaps then the media will stop comparing how much better we are this year than last....I’m not holding my breath!
  23. When we lose to Burnley next week both seasons read played 28...31 points but Rafa has a much better goal difference
