I'd be less worried if our ownership knew the first thing about football.

You don't need a "tackler". Do Bayern have a "tackler"? No, they have three competent, very athletic ball carriers who can all pass with metronomic accuracy. They then teach them how to tackle sufficiently to win the ball back. If we had a decent coach, or any coach, they could just teach Vurnon how to tackle sufficiently to win the ball back and play it. The British obsession with having a holding midfielder/destroyer is another thing holding our game back. Midfielders are the links and the engine in a football team, they all need to be comply comfortable in possession, accurate in passing and adept at finding space first and foremost. Then you teach them how to tackle. Of course, this being Pardew's team, the priorities are ability to tackle, hoof towards a vague space in front (preferably where opposition team member is standing) and then stand on defence's toes as time goes on.

I think he's crap, personally.

I feel bad now... you haven't wound me up, I just misread Venkman's post because I'm hammered
-
Excellent; all is clear. I think I misread Venkman's laugh. Anyway, Istanbul hates Alan Pardew

Hope you're enjoying Istanbul mate, amazing city. Maaaaaaaaaan I did not read that as him taking the piss. Hope that wasn't the case Ian after our midfield dynamism for the Blue team...

That's the real problem. Doing that will muck up next season as well. Debating this with my mate as we speak. He's all "based on last season he deserved at least until Christmas" - what's the point? Overwhelming evidence says we won't go back to last season's form, so we in effect write off 1/3 of a season by allowing this. I hate him. Pardew, not my mate. Aforementioned mate points out that in fact he said "he will be given until Christmas" - drunk conversation so have fudged, woops
-
The penalty and the offside goal were both balls-out incorrect.

Hope you're enjoying Istanbul mate, amazing city. Cheers Ian! Yeh it's boss, really top place, glad I've come along. The Grand Bazaar is epic. People here are wicked. So much great counterfeit tat as well.

I'm currently in Istanbul; if either the Galatasaray or Fenerbahce manager ever said such a thing they would be lynched. If he's said that that is utterly indefensible. It is his job to prepare us to try and win every game and to finish as high up the league as possible. In technical terms that's gross misconduct for admitting that you don't give a shit about attempting to complete your job to the best of your competence. As someone who 5-6 times a year forks up to come up to Newcastle from London, at a cost of £100 train return and then £30 per match ticket, he can go and fuck himself. Go and fuck himself for embarrassing my club this year. Go and fuck himself for making us a laughing stock again. But first and foremost, go and fuck himself for the pathetic lip service he pays to us fans when he clearly has not one fucking iota what it means to follow this club with your entire heart. Prick.

Did well to overcome another 2 abhorrent refereeing decisions; not a penalty for them and cisse's goal onside. -
It's because that he's a skidmark on the y-fronts of life and should be sacked ASAP are no longer debatable whilst purporting to maintain a semblance of rationality.

It's going to be a completely tedious 2-0 win for West Ham, with us picking up 2 injuries and dropping anybody capable of doing anything, reverting to 4-4-2 with Shola starting and Pardew blaming our "lack of experience" and "fatigue after an emotional week" for the result, "promising" that things will improve for the rest of the season.
-
Pardew will decide that what we lack is some solid "experience", and will play 4-4-2 as follows: --------------------Elliot------------------------------------ Simpson-----------Colo---------Taylor-----------Haidara HBA--------Tiote-----------Cabaye------------------Jonas -----------------Ameobi----Cisse---------------------------- I can almost smell it. Inevitability has a somewhat vinegary woft

Why has every team you've managed followed the same pattern? Do you believe you are capable of developing a team in the long term?
