Eddie Howe didnt look to happy with the last one he passed out of the field.
  2. Thats Joe out for 3+ weeks 😕
  3. for Wilsons standards this wasnt his best game, so glad he got a goal.

    Anthony Gordon

They will say he got one last week, only one pen pr week.
  5. You forgot Joe Kinnear, think he was the most embarrasing ever. I totally agree with you about Eddie Howe.
  6. Who was worse, him or John Carver?
  7. Thats true, there where a lot of champions untill 2010ish. But still the group of 2005 was the last world class team that looked unbeatable, the tactics, the play everything was just right at the time and even when they won the final in 2007 they didnt look as good as in 2005. Baresi was a true legend, the 88-90s was a group of ubeliavable players. But still Van Basten got me on the edge of the seat, think Sacchi said it best: "No other forward has worked as hard for the team as Marco did at Milan. Above all, however, I remember him for his elegance, his grace and his incredible ability."
  8. Think the final killed Shevchenko, especially missing that penalty. That 2005 group of players was very good, and looked unbeatable untill that fiasko in the final. My favourite player growing up was Van Basten, what a player!

6 games in to the season + another 16 from last season. So when are we allowed to have an opinion to this lad? I dont think he is or see himself as a winger, according to some articles in the summer he believes his best position is central striker. I think his postional play, pressing and tackling is his weakest strengths, he is often in no mans lands and only jogs back instead of helping his team mates out defensivly. Tonali covered his postion most of the game yesterday, something I think he was having an argument of with some of the players and Howe at some point. I do think this is one of the reasons why our midfielders seem so unbalanced this season, and you can see teams are taking advantage of this side. Attacking I dont think he offers more than Almiron tbh. Also should be noted that it looks like a red card waiting for him for loosing his head and could/should have had a couple all ready. Havent seen enough of Barnes to know if he could balance the midfield more, so atm I hope Big Joe will come back as strong as he was last season. Gordon is still young so still have faith in him, but we or mainly himself needs to find out his best position in the team.
  10. Howe needs to bring the jou back in the team again, and play with more freedome, atm we look shit scared of doing mistakes. We look afraid to try passes and more often than not we play the safe pass instead of threading it through. Hope we get it sorted out soon.
  11. Dont understand the love and hype for Gordon.. Think especially defensivly he is really bad, his positional and pressing play is very bad, when pressing he leaves his man open (instead of closing down covering his man), and he often leaves Burn alone which leaves us to have one off the central midfielders to help Burn out, which leaves us unbalanced.. he is much better offensive than he was last season, but he was really shite last season.. atm I wish that we didnt sell ASM… i really hope Gordon proves me wrong this season.. I would take off our wingers for Almiron and Wilson, play Isak on the wing.
  12. I think this season we have on to many occassions hold the ball for to long. Its like we need to wait till a player presses before we can pass the ball. Hope for more one/two touches play.
  13. We should put gps trackers on our players, maybe they can find each other with a pass then
  14. A couple of things I have seen this season is that we often uses to many touches on the ball(which slow down the tempo). When we miss pass or miss a tackle we dont work to get it back, but the player just stands ball watching and hoping someone else picking it up..
  15. I didnt read the comment as negative as you did. It all depends what you put in the words "good" and "great" managers. I read it like Howe is a good manager who just had a great season with us on all aspects, he is in the making of a great manager but not there yet. ie he is a good manager. If he continues the progress and win things with us or the next club he manage he might be considered a great manager. In my opinion there are 4 categories: Shit/terrible, average, good, and great managers. We had a bad game against Man City, we normally are able to upset teams but this game we just couldnt get it to work, and a really bad result against Liverpool. People will react especially with our history against Liverpool, and the way Klopp has been talking about us. I do hope Howe have learned something and that we bounce back the next game. Also I do hope that Howe becomes a great manager and take home some trophies!
  16. Yes in season I expect them not to go out and "enjoy" themself. They are getting a hefty amount of money that should be enough compansation that they are professionals on and of the field. They would still be able to go out and have fun with friends and family, its just that they cant stay out drinking and partying all night. Off season holiday they will be able to partying. Premier league players are playing in the best league in the world, the edge/margins in the league get smaller and smaller so imo players and clubs should do what they can to get the edge/margins to get even better. What alcohol and litle sleep do to the body is not getting us edge/margins it is actually putting us back. If Newcastle United by Eddie Howe are allowing our players to go out partying in season I must admit it is dissapointing especially with all we know about what alcohol and not enough rest do with the body.
  17. Agree. Also think we are playing to safe, and not trying to play direct. Dont think Bruno and Big Joe is up to speed yet after the summer break. Bruno has been better but I think he was much better this time last year, and we are also missing those smart passes from him.
  18. I love the way Howe have us playing. One of the negative thing I find is that our central backs(especially when we have the ball) are to far away from each other and I think teams will notice this and exploit this like we saw Aston Villa did. Whenever Villa won the ball they tried to instantly thred the ball directly threw our central defenders. Neither Botman nor Schar imo have the gratest accelration which make them struggle in these type of situations. I do hope we figure this out without disrupting the way we play.
  19. Lets hope they can loan players to us for cheap
  20. You are robbing Sir Bobby Robson and Keegan of their acheivments, and imo underminding what they did at the club. I agree that Howe`s first 18months have been fantastic, but he still have some way to go before he reached those two legends. Keegan was appointed to a team that was struggling in the second tier, and steadied the ship, brought us back to the premier league, and made us title contenders. The entertainers Sir Bobby Robson also took over a complete hoples Newcastle at the time, we had 1 point from the first 6 games. Kenny Dalglish and Gullit had ripped appart our team and team Spirit. Sir Bobby managed to get us up to 11th with those players, and later he made us a top 4 team in the league for some seasons. Give Howe some time before we crown him the best manager ever, remember even Pardew looked the real deal for a season.
  21. I disagree with that. Yes Gordon was more involved in the first have, but he made bad decisions and he slows down our build up.It looks like he cant play it on first touch as he always use 2-3 touches before he pass the ball, and this also slows us down and makes us loose momentum in the counter attack. Murphy did not have a good game, but he is much more direct which suits us more, also he is more of a teamplayer than Gordon is.
