There are legal safeguard preventing you from incriminating yourself and handing over evidence that does so. Sure they cant just walk in and ask them for it but if this ever goes to court they'll just order them to release what ever documents they need to make a decision.

I havent read any of that but is the idea that a supporter group challenging them would lead to a faster court date / decision than the consortium or Ashley doing it? Why?

I think he explains it there that he was and is supportive of a lot of the things but not giving all the power to top 6 etc.
