Damian Johnson off for Brum against Wigan.

Oba's presence/harrying always seems to garner mistakes from opposition defence

Barry, Villa one up on Bolton. Woo.

Wouldn't laugh, myself. Feel bad for King, and the club just won a trophy. No less happy we keep trouncing them, mind.
-
Yeah, I'd say that the fact that they were missing two of their most influential player rubbishes your claim. Not necessarily Apisith. Who's to say that they'd have made a difference! Man Utd never stepped out of second gear.

They're hitting some good form, and Coppell usually has them well organised and prepared. That said, with very little run up [all of two games, no less!] we seem to be flying! Happy as I am at that, against Fulham we weren't threatening tremendously from open play, or carving out easy chances for ourselves, perhaps because they defended deep with lots of men behind the ball - a tactic that often has blunted our play since SBR, really. Spurs played three strikers and got outgunned in midfield, pure and simple. Reading's capricious defence isn't always shambolic, and if they defend in numbers they could frustrate us. The first goal and its timing will be huge in this game, IMO.

Quite under-rated, I always thought.

We need an immensely talented, enigmatic underperformer on the cheap, iyam. Keegan can mould them into a matchwinner that this board will verbally malign during his tenure at the club, but who will nonetheless underpin the creativity for our strikeforce on a consistent basis.

Keegan's man management skills already doing wonders. Such a wonderful aura about the club now. He really does deserve applauding. A couple of weeks ago, he was insisting to the press that everyone blame him, not Owen - whilst continuing to encourage and praise him. Owen starts scoring again! Next port of call - getting the best out of the fantastically talented Oba. Keegan is an ancient grandmaster at getting the best out of his players. As someone mentioned earlier, I haven't celebrated at a Newcastle goal as much as I did for that fourth in far, far too long.

DJ_NUFC'll be chuffed.

Has anyone ever got a second yellow for it? I'd love to see the face of that person.
-
have you tried it? is it any good? (Beye is having a really long piss) Forget Beye, Geremi can get his stream to bend!

Brilliant thread. In response to the initial question: Aroused. Thank you and goodnight! [if you have to pigeon-hole me: Optimistic]

Happens to me all the time lately, unfortunately.

And even if he is this braindead dunk machine standing under[/alongside] the hoop - he's just one man. The entire sport and its merits aren't invalidated by this one superhuman physical specimen.
-
Haha, fair enough. Nonetheless, I'd like to see him just standing there under a net for a whole game. Have you seen him play, or are you assuming he can barely move around the court?
-
If he is as effective as you claim he is by virtue of his size alone, he would be famous. He isn't.
-
Just a shame it isn't a real sport. Why? http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/38/386129.jpg He can barely move around the court but could become one the most effective basketball players ever, simply because he is 7'7" tall. Could be. If he has some skill. Look at Dwight Howard. Another 'big man' of basketball, but also ridiculously talented.

Basketball, I would say, requires a lot more fitness. You're always in play.

Not the fittest professional sportsmen, in truth. Lots of casual strolling - even when you're not a lazy bastid.
