Agree with the original post and I think that most fans know that Solano is a better RB than Carr and that when Milner came on it should have been for the round one. I think most fans also knew we needed Emre to help unlock the Man City rearguard etc Not just knocking Roeder, we all knew Souness would fail; we all knew Duff was passed it...oh well, fans can be wrong too!

I think we had the same problem as against Lisbon - we can't control the ball. Should have played Emre instead of Sib and flooded midfield. Mind you a better team would always exploit our lack of a LB.

I'll generally not say too much against roeder but he p1sses me off when he doesn't play solano at RB. I know he might not win any headers but full backs are the key to retaining the ball in the moden game and we have no LB so when we have no RB as well it bodes ill.

The only way to get rid is for retrospective video evidence. Automatic 2 week salary fine (maximum allowed) for first offence, all subsequent offences a 5 match ban and one point deduction for the club in the Premiership. Make the onus on the clubs to stop this.

IMO Taylor is the only defender guarenteed a long term future at NUFC (accept he is still learning). So play him in his long term position, CB. Use the next 12 games to see if Gooch will be a long term partner for Taylor. We should have made our minds up about Bramble a long while ago. If he's staying give him a contract. For me he goes and I'd only play him when Taylor or Gooch are out. After his recent displays Solano has to be RB. In the summer we need to sign another RB. The biggest disappointment for me was the failure to sign a LB. All our decent play is down the right and even though Duff has been poor so far part of this must be the quality of the various LB he's being asked to play with. I'd have started Carr at LB yesterday and accepted I'd have got that wrong. Edgar for me next time.

Facts are Taylor is in front of Zog and only has one defender (keeper) in front of him. Zog plays the ball backwards. Speculation. Since the ball is clearly not for Taylor, being hit backwards when Taylor is in front of him then Taylor is not active in this period of play. By time the ball hits MGP's hand Taylor is onside and scores with ease. Clearly the correct decision.

I hate the way the post match interviews just let the managers talk crap. So when Hughes says both goals were offside and Henchoz was unlucky the interviewer should have said 'Mark, the TV replays show both goals are onside and that Hechoz deliberatly fouls Martins and if the referee had seen this (shows clip of Pedersen fouling Emre) you'll agree you were lucky to keep 10 men on the field.' Am I the only person here who thinks Butt has done OK but no more. His tackling and committment are back where they should be but I find much of his passing poor. When we play the top teams or away in Europe I'd play Butt in a five man midfield but otherwise it's Parker and Emre for me.
