Does he still have any legs left?

Newcastle v Swansea, 15:00 Saturday, 28 November 2009 Pre game thread

Argh I had headpains reading that. -
'And Shola Ameobi, the England reject, scores the goal that puts England, out of the World Cup'.

You didnt think any of our managers were any good ?

Played for england loads of times. But he is being unfairly overlooked now. FYP Good point, I'd have him in the England team for every game. Sure, there's a chance he'd pick up a career threatening injury and the FA would have to pay his wages for us, but that's the chance you take. I would pick him for the England Rugby team as well Is there an England Basejumping team? Nicky Butt should create the Basejumping team. Chuteless basejumping team more like.

No loans, remove the transfer window, 5 British players in every starting 11.

It's now or never lads, lets make some waves! :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic:

this thread wouldn't even be happening if we'd won tonight but the idiots on here have to find a scapegoat and seeing that Butt's came in and we've lost its all his fault!!! Don't get me wrong i wouldn't have him in the team if i was picking it but the reaction to Butt on here is just mental and completely OTT. This. Anyone who defends Butt in any way is a mackem in disguise. Mods get your fingers out. He has been a central figure in the decline of Newcastle United among other things and I'm thinking of just driving up and down outside his house at 90mph doing handbrake turns at each end hopin to catch the fucker on the way to training.

I hope he gets gang raped.

Because this is exactly the thought process that landed us with Roeder as manager. We are comfortably stronger than most of the teams in this league and Hughton is doing a competent job at getting us the results we should expect tbh. Things would change quickly if he had some difficult personnel issues to sought out. He's not a manager but is proving to be an excellent coach who's done a great job in the short term, as Roeder did in the past. But don't be fooled, he hasn't got the backbone to do this gig for a sustained period of time. roeder was one of our better managers in recent times No doubt you have armed yourself with a whole bunch of useless stats to back up that argument. Key one is going to be that 7th place finish. I thought Roeder should not of got the job but I wont slag him off as he was good captain & when he has spoke about since leaving Newcastle United he has wanted us to do well. I dont get that vibe from Souey & BFS. So because one guy was found out playing above his level that means in future that all coaches will make bad managers? The level of logic on this forum is breath taking. I suppose it's also no more foreign managers after Gullit too. To break it down even further, Hughton isn't Roeder and we won't know how good/shit he is until given the chance. It would be fairly sensible to say that he wouldn't be very good in the end, siting that he would be managing already if he was any good. But because Roeder was bad when promoted after a good run? That's just hill-billy thinking.

absolute hogwash of the highest order. if you sign a contract you stick to it if you expect the other to stick to their side. lets say he was s***, would he have admitted it and said, "nah sorry newcastle, i've been s***, you shou;ld be well within your rights to slash my pay"...but no it doesn't work that way. the club have to pay him as per contract regardless of performance...he shouls fulfill his side of the contract likewise. So what would you like him to have done then. fulfill his contract and if he doesn't like it go through the official channels with a written transfer request. Signs for a foreign club with the prospect of playing Champions League Football (that's what they told Enrique at least), a decent Spanish Under 21 International, turns up and the manager is wondering why one of the ball boys is wearing a training kit. He got shafted from the word go. It cannot be assumed he's a slacker, he's good enough to play for his country at U21 but not at relegated Newcastle. The fact the top brass were trying to flog every one of our squad and he didn't go obviously tells you that no-one wanted him back after his year out. It would have been safe to assume on his part that a Spanish side would come in for him. No-one did and he thought his career was over. Don't know why people are being so harsh on him. It'd be far worse if he insisted on rotting in the reserves. he shouldn't be insisting on the reserves . he should be doing his all to get a regular place or putting in a transfer request. if players want clubs to uphold their side of contracts then they have to do likewise. sooner or later players will be in for a shock when a club "does" a player over it. Look I'm not here to score points in a petty forum squabble, but you cannot assume that he wasn't doing just that. IF he wasn't then I'm sure he'd be sent packing by whoever was running the club/team at the time last January, let alone this transfer window.

Can't fault him. Not his fault he was signed here by the old regime. Now he isn't going anywhere here and wants to go back to get his career on track. People who are lynching him are out of their minds, put yourselves in his situation and tell me you wouldn't do the same. Not like Luque or Marcelino who stayed for the payday, he actually wants to play. Good luck Xisco

Hazard a guess that he couldn't be moved from the point of occurrence, i.e. on the pitch, for 30 mins.
-
Why can't we just leave it as status quo? Hughton is sending us up pretty much if we carry on like this. What'd be the point in bringing any body else in? I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If we start a-tumblin', then we can start banging on about a new manager. For now, I thank god each and every day that Hughton is in charge and not Kinnear.

Aces in their places, Enrique is a quality left back and that's where he should stay. Wouldn't even want to consider unsettlin the lad further by putting him somewhere he's not comfortable with or where he's not going to show his best ability (for potential buyers)
-
If we have Smith playing like he did last night also, I agree. I think the lack of Nicky Butt also is a factor in our new found defensive capability. I'm dreading his return.

What's the normal penalty for attempted murder? same as for substantive offence = life, though no one ever serves life, look at that lockerbie bomber bloke, he served 2 weeks for every murder he comitted! a disgrace. Always thought that life sentence didn't mean you serve the entirety of the rest of your life behind bars, but that it means the sentence stays with you for the rest of your life, or until you are pardoned. So if you are released on parole and commit another offence, you go back in clink for that old offence again, as well as serving time for the further offence. I may be wrong on this. Think you're getting mixed up with a suspended sentence. But if you were to be released early from Life then I guess that would form a partial suspended sentence, need a lawyer in here.

Tbh you're talking about him as if he was N'Zogbia when he first arrived, jonas isn't a young, inexperienced player. He's a full international with one of the top teams in the world and has already cut the mustard in Spain. We should be expecting close to the finished article with him and for all the want of the world he just does not deliver.
