It's going to get silly, the logical conclusion is that clubs start owning other businesses and stores to generate revenue. You'll get Chelsea FC Waste Management, Chelsea FC Burger Company, Chelsea FC Agreggates. Let alone stockholding and dividend payouts being added to the bottom line.

Beginning to think we're not the vanity project we hoped we would be. Yes we'll spend the pennies allowed in the regs but not seeing massive investment in the infrastructure yet, they've had plenty of time. But you're right, if we're just an investment piece then it doesn't make sense we're not trying to maximise the value of the business for almost no outlay.

I'm hoping I'm right in my thinking that the club sees him as a right-winger, and they think he might have the potential to succeed Murphy and that's why we're seemingly light on that squad position. Barnes/Gordon on the left and Osula/Murphy on the right. I'm hoping he's not had nearly as many minutes as we'd all want due to the famous Lewis Hall effect. If this is the case we really need a squad player to help Isak our with minutes and we're not too bad off across the top of our squad.

The problem of our first XI turning into England's is that they win even less trophies than we do

8 years ago Pickford was on a similar trajectory to Trafford and went for 25-30m. I'm not saying they're the same player, but 8 years later... 30-35m for Trafford seems a snip.

I think Palace would prefer to keep Guehi for next season than take £50m now, personally. Due to European football, I'm not seeing him leave this summer. January might be a different story depending on how they're doing, but also in January he can talk to clubs abroad and get a free transfer arranged as well.

Aye, if you've read any of my previous points around transfers/tactics, I've always maintained the most transformative signing for our first XI would be a ball playing keeper. I just hope we go into the new season with added depth of quality in central midfield and a cover striker. Willock/Longstaff/Wilson is not the answer for this season imo.

Have to disagree with chicken dancer, if we buy one player for our team to solely improve our first XI, a ball-playing keeper for tactical reasons alone would be transformative in the two main aspects of our play we struggle at, under a high press, and playing against a low block, in my opinion. But I don't think it's the most important signing for our squad right now. We're 'fine' at GK but would rather see 2x £20m potential players to pad out our squad up front and in midfield first.
