So they’re handing out these long term contracts to lock in players at “lower wages”? And accepting the risk that player might turn out to be crap or get injured?

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe that Arsenal will see benefit in loaning Tierney to Newcastle as it would improve us and hurt the chance of Chelsea or Liverpool getting Champions League football next year. Arsenal know the damage that missing out on the CL for consecutive seasons can do to a club…. Well, we can dream can’t we?

So, now Chelsea are going to turn around and try to offload Conor Gallagher on West Ham for similar fee? I can see that Moyes must be desperate to get some players in, but it seems like Chelsea needs to sell more than the Hammers need to buy. Could help them to get a decent price. He certainly hasn't proven himself to be "world class". He may well become world class in the future. Until that time comes, he is unproven.
