  1. Aston Villa 1 v 2 Southampton Forest 1 v 2 Fulham Wolves 0 v 2 Man City Newcastle United 2-0 Bournemouth Spurs 2 v 1 Leicester City Brentford 1 v 2 Arsenal Everton 2 v 1 West Ham
  2. Don’t watch US coverage of the CL, but… fkn hell. Feel sorry for Thierry Henry having to sit there with Carragher and Micah Richards. what a pair of tools.
  3. I liked Pochettino when he was at Southampton. Got over that the week he took over at Spurs. (Hated Rafa at Liverpool.). Will have no problem adjusting my opinion of Potter. C*nt.
  4. Fulham 1 v 1 Chelsea Bournemouth 1 v 2 Brighton Leicester City 3 v 2 Aston Villa Liverpool 2 v 1 Wolves Southampton 2 v 2 Brentford Man City 3 v 1 Tottenham Arsenal 2 v 0 Everton West Ham United 0 v 1 Newcastle United Crystal Palace 2 v 2 Man United Leeds United 2 v 0 Forest
  5. Jean-Alain Boumsong. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/2317140/souness-raves-about-boumsong
  6. Milner, Joey Barton, and Chancel Mmemba all contributing a bit of madness to the Champions League in 2022.
  7. How long has this been in the works? Wonder if Chelsea’s reluctance to loan out or sell Pulisic, Gallagher, Broja, etc. can be attributed to their lack of commitment to Tuchel. Players were not in Tuchel’s plans, but another manager … who knows
  8. Guardiola Conte Klopp Howe Potter Tuchel Moyes Ten Hag Rodgers Vieira Frank Silva Arteta Hassenhutl Marsch Lage Lampard Cooper Gerrard Haven’t referred to my previous rankings, but I think that Howe, Conte, Potter, Moyes, Frank, and Lampard have gone up in my estimation. Tuchel, Arteta, and Gerrard have gone down. Yeah, and I still rate Vieira even though Palace throw away a lot of points late. I suspect that Hassenhutl is better than I thought. Looking at this now, I think I have Arteta too high.
  9. Their schedule lightens up over the next few weeks. They’ve got Villa, Tottenham and then a lot winnable games before they see Man City in late October. They’ve been woeful, but their schedule wasn’t especially kind. Not sure that’s much of an argument for retaining Rodgers if he’s lost the players (or the fans). It doesn’t sound like they can afford to can him.
  10. They were one only a few clubs that received a warning regarding inordinate Covid-19 deductions. West Ham were one of the others along with (surprise) Chelsea. The latest report didn’t say anything about Everton, maybe they were warned previously? Seems odd that they’d be in such financial straights given their relative spend and European football.
  11. So we can all agree that Arsenal really hadn’t played anybody yet?
  12. Definitely take Maddison. As others have pointed out his value could drop in January and the other clubs that might otherwise afford him will be scared off or bedazzled by the next bauble. You’d have to be depressed to be at LC now. He knows he’s missed out on the World Cup now. The club is going nowhere. Rodgers is halfway out the door, practically begging to get fired. They’re in a relegation fight. He won’t be signing a new contract. Anyone know if LC had a deal to sell Tielemans? Did he just choose to run out his contract? Hard to figure why LC didn’t get something for him.
  13. If we have ASM and Bruno, back we’ll win. Otherwise a draw or 1-0 loss.
  14. Yeah, for us. I thought the Man United score was interesting. Last year's A, doesn't seem so good now.
  15. I was unsure how to score our summer window. Is it scored relative to past windows? Relative to the windows of other clubs? Was reading around seeing what various sites/pundits were saying. A query returned something from NBC near the top. (Because I’m in the US? Because of my query: “transfer window grades”). Anyway, they grades (A-F) posted. For some perspective, I looked at the grades given for last summer’s window (2021-22). Resigning Lukaku and Ronaldo don’t seem so smart now. Our D- was generous. Thought it might be interesting to hear what NO thinks of how our rivals did. I couldn’t possibly give grades or numbers (7.3). And in some instances, I’ll just admit I don’t have a clue (Southampton, Forest). Chelsea and Man United spent, but did they really do that well? Good: Arsenal, Newcastle United, Tottenham, Manchester City Blah: Aston Villa, Leeds Bad: Bournemouth, Brighton, Everton, Leceister City, Liverpool

  17. Is that what he thinks we’re “a bit tampony” about? JFC. More riled by the Robson comments. It’s about football. That’s it. I really like this Palace side and I think Vieira is a good manager. He’s done a lot with a limited squad. Not getting smashed by Man City and Liverpool is an achievement. But damn they do seem to throw away a lot of points. Last minute equalizers seemed incredibly frequent last season. If ASM & Bruno are available, this will look a lot like the Forest and first half of the Man City game.
  18. It’s always nice to have fans of other clubs wish you well— a CL spot would be nice. But I want make it clear that I liked your post because I agree with your assessment of Tuchel. Maybe not as forcibly. I agree that Tuchel is something of a fraud. The pressure is coming.
  19. Don’t think this is fair. He played his best football under Howe. I think he’s up for it and will contribute quite a lot when he comes back.
  20. I’d read it was his wages or his agent asking for a large commission. Always something.
