Currently like Dawson in form and having their best season, both have got to do it again next year not to be a one season wonder. Though Dawson will have the easier ride playing at the top rather than Cole at the bottom. I wonder how much wham would want for him? Chuck in Shola, Smith & Ryan Taylor. Either way he has improved massively. Could barely trap a bag of sand nevermind score until recently.

This. The league's are over anyways so it's unlikely that injuries would happen. Makes for good competition, no one is safe and to be there as back-up and not first choice if an injury happens in camp could effect morale of that player. Gives a chance for fringe players to get in the spirit and build their hopes up, of course they'll be gutted if they miss the cut, but still until then you've got a fully focused player training his heart out to impress before a WC. Good point TT. On a side note I'd drop Baines, King, Parker, Bent, SWP, Dawson and Barry/Huddlestone (dependent on fitness). Carra shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. Atrocious RB and I'm not for people playing out of position.

Is it just me who doesn't see the pointed of naming a 30 man squad just to knock it down? Surely just name people as stand-bys would be fairer instead of getting peoples hopes up for no reason.

Of course i don't know whats going on behind the scenes and maybe a few didn't care what was going on but if someone like Hughes or Grant can install a bit of passion and team spirit then they more than have enough to finish away from the relegation places. Their squad hasn't changed drastically from the one that came 9th season before last.

Got the basis of a decent team WHU Green, Upson, Faubert, Behrami, Kovac, Diamanti, Collison, Parker and Cole are all decent enough. Its a bit unity and team spirit they seem to lack.

Wolfsburg has much more money than HSV. Magath got there about 50 million to spend in his time there. HSV only sell their best players to Bayern or nowadays to Man City for much money. That Wolfsburg has more money comes from the fact that VW is fully behind that club. I know about the money issue but I think most would still regard HSV as the bigger club would they not? Plus as they haven't won much recently if he did so he could achieve legendary status. How come HSV stuggle so badly for money, they've raked in a fair bit recently for De Jong & Kompany and probably Boateng & get decent crowds. If they don't get much money they should stop giving away the likes of Olic and soon to be Guererro on free's.
