  1. That article has piles of shite written all over it. Why mention chanting for your teams manager. Just cos u got sworn at by him Why even bring up the Barton 'incident' pathetic shite again Crap ratings. Horrible anti newcastle tone. 'Perhaps that incident unsettled Agbonlahor because soon after he missed the best chance of the half when former Newcastle winger Milner created a lovely opening down the Villa right. The £12million signing, who was booed by home fans, skipped away from Jose Enrique with ease before playing a tempting ball across goal which Agbonlahor somehow allowed to slip through his legs.' Sick 'Fortunately for Barton, the officials missed all the nonsense, but the television cameras did not and the pair continued to clash for the rest of the first period. ' Bollocks 'Newcastle were lucky to still have 11 men on the pitch after referee Steve Bennett had missed an unsavoury incident involving Joey Barton, which could have resulted in another red card for the midfielder and a six-match ban. ' Eh? Why print this shit? At least The Guardian's version is spot on: "Barton's critics claimed he had enjoyed a significant escape after becoming embroiled in a minor contretemps with Gabriel Agbonlahor. Shortly after being bundled over by the Villa forward as they challenged for the ball, the Newcastle midfielder raised a hand, flicked his wrist and gently swiped Agbonlahor on the nose with a stroke of his palm. The contact was minimal, fleeting and was surely intended as a joke but Middlesbrough's Jérémie Aliadière was sent off for doing something very similar last season. Moreover, Barton currently has a suspended six-game Football Association ban hanging over him and, with his considerable previous, he cannot afford to be on anything but his best behaviour. Amid all the excitement Kinnear had lost his voice, so Chris Hughton conducted the post-match duties. "We haven't discussed it," said Newcastle's first-team coach. "But we are aware that any incident with Joey is going to be blown up out of all proportion." While raising hands on a football pitch is never wise, it is also true that had any other player done something similar it would barely have merited a mention. That said the former referee Graham Poll, now a TV pundit, claimed Barton struck an opponent and consequently should have been dismissed. Moreover Poll was convinced that, had the referee seen the incident properly, he would have given Barton his marching orders. If he did not spot anything untoward and explains this in his report, however, the FA could, in theory, act retrospectively on video evidence. Perhaps Agbonlahor can cite "post-Barton trauma'"as an excuse when he is asked to explain the sitter he missed shortly afterwards following James Milner's dodging of Fabricio Coloccini and subsequent fine cross. By then Martin Laursen had headed against a post from a Gareth Barry centre and a meaty tackle from Steven Taylor had denied Milner as Newcastle struggled to cope with Villa's speed on the break." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/nov/04/premierleague-newcastleunited written by Wheez Keys Louise n all
  2. Yesterday showed how we've missed Barton. Great to have a bit of drive going forward in midfield. Barton, Jonas, Martins and Stroller were all brilliant yesterday. A fine team performance against a poor Villa team, which highlights how far the top4 are ahead of the rest really as i don't think we'd have won if we'd been playing one of them on a bad day.
  3. I agree we don't need to be over attack we just need to pressure them high up when they have the ball. Only Barry and A.Young are what i would class as good passing players, the rest will be prone to errors if they are hurried. We need to be offensive without being irresponsible.

    One lump or two?

In terms of getting people in its impossible to say until we know what manager/owner etc we're going to have. Ashley has said we won't be spending if he's in charge so it would be loans only if anything. Perhaps we could go for Carlos Vela or Rafael but id be suprised if people wanted to loan players to a struggling team. Championship wise the only player i can think of off the top of my head that might be worth going for would be Michael Kightly.

    Players in public

It's on Dean Street, called "Shakamaka". Whys he named it after the overpriced Jamie Oliver kitchen utensil?
  7. Booooo-urns, Booooooo-urns
  8. So long as Carew is playing you'll be grand. We've never been able to cope with him and I can't see that changing tonight.
  9. The biggest c*** in football. Always has something to moan about, and is generally a prat. To the Everton fans here, hows that Fellini guy been performing?, coz he's looked like a very good signing to me. His performances haven't been all that tbh but he's showed his promise lately. Had a good first half vs Arsenal and put in a good shift against Man Utd on Saturday. He's scoring goals too so I'm reasonably happy with him. He's still only 20 so I reckon he will turn out to be a good player once he settles into the Premiership and matures a bit. He's a lot more attacking than I thought he would be. A lot of journos seemed to be billing him as a defensive midfielder when we signed him but he's not cut out for that role despite being 9ft tall. Good player and he will be a very good player in a couple of years but he is a terrible dirty b******. Already picked up 5 bookings and he's only been here 3 minutes and he must've commited about 12 fouls versus us. He's more just clumsy and is pretty rubbish at tackling really. Paul Scholes-style Gives away a lot of fouls but I can't remember him putting in any actual bad/dirty challenges since he got here. Bar getting booked for celebrating the other night his bookings have all been for persistent fouling. Definitely something he needs to work on! Aye that Scholes is a dirty bastard n all. Felliani probably isn't helped by his height tackling wise but he's a definitely has the potential to top player although not as DM, looked a lot better going forward those games versus Lpool for Standard. Could be the new Cahill (another horrible bastard)

    Given

Hooper used to be into birdwatching if i remember rightly. My everlasting memory of him will be when we got beat at home to So'ton when there were no home fans allowed and Le Tissier scored (quelle suprise!) a free-kick when Hooper had positioned the wall to one side and then stood behind it.
  12. Be happy with a draw. Hope to fuck Carew and Laursen aren't playing otherwise we'll get raped on crosses.
  13. People who say we're best off going down are mental. Apart from Sunderland which team has gone down and bounced back stronger? And even the mackems aren't hitting the heights of the top half really.
  14. Spurs have a lot of players who have sale value though so can wheel and deal like the cunt he is
  15. Are you fucking kidding me? His accuracy at finding an opposition player with 95% of his aerial balls is only bettered by that useless twat Geremi. Its a hell of a lot better than it used to be when it looked like he used to have a pitching wedge for a foot.
  16. I wish Guthrie was that good. I think Afellay is slightly over-rated good player but not top four quality. Not at the moment, from what I've seen of him he'd be suited to Arsenal. Young lightweight midfielder with no real position - Arsene's favourite
  17. Aye same, he can look very good at times and then others looks distinctly average. He should always be the one marking the 'smaller' forward though as he gets beat too much in the air.
  18. couldn't have had a better fixture. Hopefully no slip ups in the second half
  19. The last thing we need to be doing with our shite/paperthin squad is selling more players. The standard of our bench has been a joke so far this season, only Sats match have we had people to bring on who might change the game.
  20. Not many big foreign managers on the market at the moment really that I can think of aside from Rijkaard.
  21. I thought he was absolutely fantastic when we signed him. My favourite ever toon player.
