Fernando Amorebieta? Alien Lescott?...if only.
-
Well, they're building a club around big black lads. FYP
-
They're getting a solid, experienced defender for a small fee. They should be pissing themselves. He's not superb but I'd rather have him here, than have an extra £2m in the bank and have to promote Taylor to automatic first choice. I completely agree, only mitigating factor might be whatever has gone on behind the scenes. And also who might yet arrive. I'm still leaning towards it being a bad sale, but we'll see. If he's being a prick and causing unrest/wanting away then he's best off out of the door. He'll need replacing with someone because Coloccini, Taylor, Cacapa, Bassong and Edgar at CH doesn't exactly thrill me. Fully agree Midds, need someone who is going to push Coloccini and Taylor for the 1st team and not just people who will be happy to be in reserve. Lack of competition breeds complacency, something our defence suffers from at the best of times.

Does it matter who has the most English players? No.
-
Interestingly the article also says that in order to play on Sunday, the two Argies had to be registered by noon today. So if there are any late surprises they'd better crop up soon. Owen and Martins to get crocked in this closed doors friendly? Who we going to play now that Gretna have gone bust?

Hope you're right. I actually want Taylor to be really good. Disagree, while not a massive loss, we can ill afford to be letting experienced centre halves go without a replacement. We have no idea how Colo will fit into a new league (from posts on that Depo forum, he took a while there), Capaca is old, fragile and very shaky against physical teams and Taylor is both inconsistent and prone to the odd injury. This is on the nail - we need a replacement, Cacapa was poor last season, and is a year older now(AND slower...) Bassong has no Prem experience and Edgar isn't upto it unfortunately.
-
Neither of them make much sense to me, as did the Glen Little move. Harry mustn't have any money left.
-
Jerome Thomas from Charlton to Pompey on season long loan.
-
He will be here because if he doesn't sign he won't move I suspect and wait for a bumper payday.
-
You've got her well trained exactly what i was thinkin. My missus wouldn't dream of watching SSN

Creative midfielder? Selling faye? Lack of ambition? New striker needed? Just a few to keep'em going Aye, selling Faye is a joke.

Queen Of The South 1 - 1 some hard to spell Scandanavian team
-
We're going to be struggling to name a team and subs if we're sacking all these players off. Edgar is gash btw, nowhere near Premiership standard, would prefer Ramage to him, at least Ramage was strong(ish).
-
be pleasantly suprised if all that was true. Just have to wait and see.
-
ditto.
-
odds on Steve Bruce, he's a geordie don't you know.
-
Spartak 1 - 4 Kiev FT, might see Pavlychenko move perhaps Anorthosis 3 - 0 Olympiakos FT, Ketsbaia back in the CL?
-
English people always do that when talking to foreigners like. The old presumption that they can't understand so you put on an accent and speak stupidly slowly.
-
Liege have missed their chance like. Needed to score those two big chances.

I reckon Wigan will do OK, Boro will struggle but survive, we'll improve on last year and Sunderland will fight a relegation battle with the outcome dependant on whether any of the promoted 3 finish above them. Keane has bought badly, much like last season but no one in the press seems to mention it. Yet. He's bought ok but he has failed to address the loss of their two most important players for most of last season (Evans & Jones) and if they don't they're going to be in the shit. Wigan will do well this season, finished well last season and now have a better squad and will be better organised even more now Bruce has had a full pre-season with the squad. Hard to say how Boro will do although I'm amazed they haven't bought a keeper and Hoyte is gash if they're buying him. Probably be similar if not slightly worse than last time out.

Although we have this media blanket ban it is weird how from the outside nothing is happening here. We have had him signed him allegedly for a bit yet no announcement from us & he isn't training with the first team squad. Most peculiar.
-
you tell porkies Flamini signed for AC Milan ah shit aye. was close.
-
Be a very shrewd acquisition. Premiership experience, Juve have a wealth of midfielders and will definitely be willing to let him go (have bought Flamini and Poulsen this summer). Good box-to-box player who isn't afraid to stick a foot in or have a crack. Very similar player to Barton if my memory serves me right.
-
Be a poor move to sell him unless he is unhappy. We need competition for places not get 1 in let 1 go.
