  1. Get help. The only thing Martins has over Smith is goals Oh, so not much then? The point lost on you it seems is goals as infrequent as they come from Martins I might add, are not enough. We need more from Martins than the odd goal. yeah, we could've done without Martins' odd goal last year.. wonder how Smith's creative genius would've fit next to Sibierski.. or from the right wing.. oh wait, we've seen that this season What Martins did last year doesn't matter in regards to this debate. Lets re-sign Andy Cole because of what he did in 93-94... No. i wrote it, because you keep saying that the odd goal is not good enough yeah, surely, if we are Real Madrid, it's not good enough.. but we are a team that lacks flair so much it hurts my eyes watching model pros like Smith playing their pointless side passes.. Martins' goals were good enough to save us from certain relegation last year, playing in a team that created even less chances than this season's.. in my eyes, he has proved here that he is a good striker and a danger for every defense.. sure he has his shortcommings, but who fucking doesn't.. if only Allardyce had some common sense to play him more regularly instead the lost cause of Mickey Owen, maybe his form wouldn't have suffered so much.. He's an average striker and an average goalscorer too, and he's a poor footballer full stop. This sin't opinion, it's based on clear and present evidence. He's poor in almost every department to ever be a top striker/footballer. As for your other comments, he's featured more this season than Owen so what the hell are you talking about? UTTER MONKEY POO POO
  2. He has holes in his education, he certainly wasn't the finished article when he came here, but really we've done him no favours. He's a confidence player, its easy to say but he really is. There's no confidence in the team, in the manager, in the formation, so how is he going to shine in that? He's a young lad who isn't ready to carry a club of this size on his shoulders, he should be the one sparking games, providing the magic moments not doing the bread and butter points scoring. We've got no one doing that, but that doesn't mean its his fault or he's a bad player. Put him in a team with a settled formation, a settled squad and a purpose, then he can bring to the table what he's good at. At the moment he doesn't know where he's at, and that is not his fault. Even if City bought him he'd be magic, if we swapped him with Elano i reckon due to the mess the club is in we'd make the guy look below average and people would be picking up on the bad points of his game and not looking at the good as the good wouldn't shine through as much here as it does at City. Completely agree with this post and your previous posts about Martins I also think that if Martins was playing alongside Shearer when SBR was manager he would have been phenomenal.Back then we were playing good atacking football. Our team was solid and our manager was top class and most of our players were in top form. Now our team is a mess and none of our players cant show what they are cabaple of... I think alot of people forger last season when Martins was probably the only sparkling thing in our miserable season What about his goal against Tottenham? How many strikers in the Premiership can score that kind of goal? Not many. I think it will be huge mistake if we sell Martins... If someone offers 13m for Owen i'll take it but not Martins.

    USE ENRIQUE

Just thought the same thing. Milner was shocking against City while Zoggy and Enrique looked solid and played pretty well. Against Stoke put Duff on the right and Enrique+Zoggy on the left
  4. something i find interesting in this current climate is the role of mort/ashley...they're not "football people" in the sense that they've never owned/ran clubs before and as a result they seem to be taking a non-football view of the current situation and taking a large account our recent hire and fire policy under shepherd, it's almost like they won't repeat his mistakes the question is this: are they right this time? is allardyce the man that NEEDS sacking when others didn't or is he the man that needs the time when others didn't? if they're wrong we'll be playing stoke again next season in the championship I think he is. The performance against the likes of Wigan Derby and Reading were just shocking. I mean the manner of this defeats its just not acceptable. If we lose some games but we showed some spirit and good football i dont mind but with Allardyce i think we are seeing the same football when we played under Souness and Roeder The big head must go now or in the summer for sure.
  5. Roy Evans was the manager before Houllier, so the above is incorrect. Also seem to remember Houllier having his Liverpool team play some dour football. So if we appoint Houllier for arguments sake and we are laying mid table after 21 games playing dour football will people want him sacked. Houllier is past his best and i dont thing he will be good appointment
  6. Del Bosque and Kuper are without a job atm and i think they are realistic targets Hitzfeld and Scolari will be free in the summer and its worth at least trying to bring one of them as a manager. I admit that Mourihno and Lippi are fantasy targets but in football as in life you never know what might happen, especially when you have a billionare owner.
  7. Klinsmann. Laudrup and Fransisco Flores are good managers but they are similar with Allardyce. They havent won something big and they are in the managerial business not that long. We need someone with 10-15 years of experience and with proven CV. With the likes of this 3 guys we are risking to do the same mistake as we make with Allardyce
  8. NO YES, for now. NO,NO,NO he is not the right manager for Newcastle United Football Club
  9. Like i said before SGE was a manager from that list and he was realistic target and we missed him. So why not try in the summer for someone from that list again. I didnt say we will succeed but its worth giving 100% to bring someone from that list as a NUFC manager.
  10. Keep dreaming Tell that to the City fans genius because they got their man and we are stuck with this big head and we are suffering defeats from the liks of Derby Wigan and Reading when City are aiming for the top 4... Stupid
  11. I think now its obvious that Allardyce is not the man that will take us to the level that we were under SBR. We still play crap football and the team is a mess. There isnt any slight signs of improvement or development I was against the appointment of Allardyce at the begining and i wanted SGE all the way. Of course i hoped i was wrong like alot of people here i presume but at the end of the day Allardyce is huge dissapointment so far and its a fact. So looking at Man City this season i think we need to find someone who has good CV behind him and has won something in his managerial career=SGE So i'll put the names of some managers who is worth looking now or in the summer: 1.Marcelo Lippi- Titles With Juventus F.C.: 5 Italian League Championships 1994/95, 1996/97, 1997/98, 2001/02, 2002/03 1 Coppa Italia 1994/95 Runners up: 2001/02, 2003/04 4 Italian Supercups 1995/96, 1997/98, 2002/03, 2003/04 Runners up: 1998/99 1 European Cup 1995/96 Runners up: 1996/97, 1997/98, 2002/03 UEFA Cup Runners up: 1994/95 1 European Supercup 1995/1996 1 Intercontinental Cup 1996 With Internazionale F.C.: Coppa Italia Runners up: 1999/00 With the Italian national team: 1 FIFA World Cup 2006 2.Héctor Cúper 1997-1999 RCD Mallorca final of the Copa del Rey final of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup winning the Supercopa de España 3rd place 1998/99 season 1999-2001 Valencia final of the Champions League 2000 final of the Champions League 2001 2001-2003 Inter third and second place of the championship semifinals of UEFA Champions League 2002-03 3.Ottmar Hitzfeld 1984-88 FC Aarau 1985 - Swiss Cup 1988-91 Grasshopper Club Zürich 1989 - Swiss Cup 1990 - Swiss Cup 1990 - Championship 1991 - Championship 1991-97 Borussia Dortmund 1995 - Championship 1996 - Championship 1997 - UEFA Champions League 1998-04 FC Bayern Munich 1999 - Championship 2000 - German Cup 2000 - Championship 2001 - Championship 2001 - UEFA Champions League 2001 - Intercontinental Cup 2003 - German Cup 2003 - Championship 1997 - "World Coach of the Year" 2001 - "World Coach of the Year" 4.Vicente del Bosque Titles UEFA Champions League 2000 and 2002 La Liga in 2001 and 2003 Spanish Supercup in 2001 European Supercup in 2002 Intercontinental Cup in 2002 5.José Mourinho With F.C. Porto: Portuguese Championships (2): 2002/03; 2003/04 SuperCup Cândido de Oliveira: 2003 Cup of Portugal: 2002/03 UEFA Cup: 2002/03 UEFA Champions League: 2003/04 With Chelsea FC: FA Premier League (2): 2004/05; 2005/06 Football League Cup (2): 2004/05, 2006/07 FA Cup: 2007 FA Community Shield: 2005 6.Luiz Felipe Scolari Criciúma-Brazilian Cup Grêmio- 1993-1996 Brazilian Cup Libertadores Cup Recopa Sudamericana Brazilian Championship Palmeiras-1997-2000 Brazilian Cup Mercosur Cup Copa Lbertadores Brazil 2001-2002 2002 FIFA World Cup Portugal-2003-Present Euro 2004-final ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sven-Göran Eriksson Titles IFK Göteborg Svenska Cupen Winners 1979, 1982 Allsvenskan Champions 1981, 1982 UEFA Cup Winners 1982 S.L. Benfica Portuguese Liga Champions 1983, 1984, 1991 Cup of Portugal Winners 1983 SuperCup Cândido de Oliveira Champions 1989 European Cup Runners Up 1990 UEFA Cup Runners Up 1983 A.S. Roma Coppa Italia Winners 1986 U.C. Sampdoria Coppa Italia Winners 1994 S.S. Lazio Coppa Italia Winners 1998, 2000 Italian Super Cup Winners 1998 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Winners 1999 UEFA Super Cup Winners 1999 Serie A Champions 2000 Sam Allardyce Bolton 1999–2000 Division One playoffs FA Cup semi-final 2000–01 playoff final 2003–04-eighth place Carling Cup final 2004–05-sixth 2005–06-eight ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think that the difference between our manager and this 7 guys before him is from earth to the moon. Allardyce is not in their league and the proof is SGE performance with Man City this season. SGE is top manager and he is proving this with City. So the bottom line is that we need top manager who has won titles and silverware before in his career. Allardyce is not that kind of manager I know that its going to be almost impossible to attract the likes of Mourihno and Lippi here but now we have a billionare owner so at least its worth the shot...
  12. Milner and Butt were awful last night so i'll start with this: Given Beye Casapa Taylor Enrique Duff Beye Emre Zoggy Owen Viduka
  13. I also cant understand why Allardyce took off Faye when he was clearly one of our best players on the night and played Butt for the whole 90min when he was clearly one of our worst players if not the worst?
  14. Another miserable display and i think its time for big sam to go...
  15. So far... Butt=shocking display Casapa=shocking display Milner=shocking display Martins=shocking display The only 2 players that played well in the 1st half are Zoggy and Faye Allardyce OUT ASAP I just wonder where are the people on this board who said that SGE is not good enough for us???
  16. In every lie there is some truth so if we are not in the papers there is strong possibility that we wont sign any big names in January
  17. Spurs will soon be far above us IMO They have great manager who knows what he is doing and they play good football We in the other hand have manager who imo is making alot of tactical and managerial mistakes and we are playing ugly ugly football
  18. Same old shit like when we were under Souness and Roeder... The performance against Derby and Wigan were enough for me to see that atm we are playing the same shit football like when we were under Souness and Roeder. Thats why i always wanted SGE as manager not Allardyce. Just wonder where are the people on this board who said that SGE is not good enough for us?
  19. He was shite as usual but so were the rest of our players Shocking display against a team who lost 0:6 a couple of weeks ago... No comment...
