  1. We dont need another street fighter at the club We recently got rid of Bowyer We dont need another like him.
  2. How do you know? In Italy one of the most important things is the players to have adequate defensive tactical knowledge. Why do you think in the italian league the vast majority of the teams are playing defensive football. Havent you all of you heard about the "Italian catenacho" Also i said "the main thing" they teach the players. I didnt say that the coaches didnt teach the players the other aspects of the football game. Why do you think the Italian league is the most defensive tactical league in the world? Its not because they accentaute on the techniqual football and attractive football for sure
  3. There were some stories and rumours that they want Messi and Robihno ;D
  4. In Italy the main thing they teach you is how to defend and defending tactics
  5. Tottenham are getting alot of money from their sponsorship
  6. I know most of the papers are writing bollox but in every lie there is some truth
  7. aye comparing a player who got 11 goals in the league to one that got 12 in the league is a bit unfair. Here's a question then. Do you think Spurs would have finished 5th with Martins in their side, and do you think we'd have finished 13th with Berbatov in ours? Spurs wouldnt finished 5th with Oba in their side because Oba is not the type of player they need. They have Keane and Defoe who are similar players. And yes.I think if Berbatov played for us we wouldnt be in much higher position then where we actually finished. And i'll tell you why Berbatov played this season in a very good team who is playing passing football(not long ball 90min).Berbatov played in a team where his teammates where in great form and everyone was playing at his real abilities. Also Berbatov goals werent something phenomenal like Oba's goal against Tottenham,Berbatov's goals were more product of the style of passing football tottenham are playing all season. If Berbatov played for us this season-with this incompetent manager, with this underperforming teammates, with this shit team who isnt playing anything near "passing" football i think he wouldnt scored more then 10 goals. Most of the Oba's goals were scored not because of some great attacking move or some great passing combination but because of the Oba's pace. People here are underestimating Martins too much imo. Valencia and Juventus wouldnt be intereted in some player whos movement and touch are shocking like alot of people thinks. He is not Pele but he is 22 and he is developing. He can improve his weaknesses and can become better player under the right management People on this forum will sell him at first opportunity for 12m which is mental. I also think every club can cope without every player. There isnt a player on this world who isnt replacable. Thats the case about Oba too. But i'll only consider selling him only if offer bigger then 15m comes for him. Only then...
  8. SBR during his time when he signed Craig Bellamy who at that time was 22. SBR improved Bellamy's movement and he used it to the most useful way it can be used. Bellamy's movement was based on his partnership with Alan Shearer who was master in the air and this use of Bellamy's qualities was improvement as well as on his movement but also as an improvement on the players career itself.Bellamy's reasonable use of his pace and therefore his movement made him better player. If Allardyce can use Martins's pace that way it will be improvement of his movement doesnt it? You see, I think Bellamy's movement was spot on from the off, or rather from as soon as he started playing with Shearer and it stayed that way, so I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Dont you agree with me that under Allardyce Martins's movemenet might get better, more reasonable(not runing like a clueless chicken),runing into empty spaces, runing for balls headed from some tall striker we might sign. Which tall striker might that be then? it doesnt necessarily have to be tall.He just have to be good in the air and to hold the ball upfront

The whole point i was trying to make is that Allardyce will use Martins's pace far more reasonable then the idiot Roeder. You make your conclusions about Martins's poor movemenet from the things i mentioned before(poor manager, poor teammates, poor team to play in). Dont you agree with me that under Allardyce Martins's movemenet might get better, more reasonable(not runing like a clueless chicken),runing into empty spaces, runing for balls headed from some tall striker we might sign. Also don you agree that if we sign some decent player who can play well in the air and under the right management from Allardyce Martins's pace and movement can be useful as Bellamy's?
  10. I think you are making things up Where did he say that?

  12. Agree with you about Martins He is super talent and i hope that he'll remain with us next season. If not i hope we dont sell him for less then 15m because that would be a disgrace About people wanting Anelka as a replacement for Martins: Martins-43=17 goals Anelka-38=12 goals I would rather go for Darren Bent instead of Anelka Bent-34=15 goals Try counting the PL goals only and not goals against Latvian part-timers or whatever. Martins has 11 PL goals so Anelka is not that far away with his mighty 12 goals Agree with you about Martins He is super talent and i hope that he'll remain with us next season. Under the right manager the firt one will be transformed to more productive element of his game. Under Roeder he ran like a clueless chicken Under Allardyce his runs will be more reasonable and if he has some decent player playing alongside him who is good in the air he will get even better and his runs will be even more productive. Remember Shearer-Bellamy partnership? What makes you think that he will now learn something (movement) he couldn't learn in Italy, probably the most tactical astute league, under various high profile managers? If you think that Martins has learn everything about football movement at the age of 22 you are crazy and also if you think that players cant learn something new from different managers you are wrong again Agree with you about Martins He is super talent and i hope that he'll remain with us next season. Remember Shearer-Bellamy partnership? He's not that coachable imo. He's more an headless chicken instinctive player you'll never change that. every player is coachable under the right management. People are judging Martins on his 1st season in the Premiership where he played under very incompetent manager, with teammates who were competing who was worse and in a team which 99% of the performances this season were shocking What do you expect from him, from his form and respectively from his touch and movement?

  15. Why do I think Given is not doing this? The images on my TV screen tell me it isn't happening! In fact, this is exactly one of those cases whereby actually being at the game is superior to watching it on TV. Maybe Given is not as noisy and commanding as Schmeichel but we cant blame him for not doing this things you mentioned above. Actually, yes I can blame him for not organising his defence properly - it is part of his job! It's not as important as shot-stopping, but is at least as important as distribution (if not more so) I mean you cant blame the goalkeeper for the fact that the defenders in front of him are bunch of shit. Gee, I didn't realise I'd said that, I'm sorry. Oh wait, I didn't... But what I did say (or at least imply) is that Given has a responsibility to improve their collective performance by organising them properly, and in that regard he seems to be wanting... I'm not saying Given is shit (he is clearly a very good goalkeeper), I'm saying that he is deficient in one vital aspect of his craft. You ask why I think he doesn't organise his defence adequately - the evidence is plain to see. Given cant organise his defence not because he doenst shout enough and command the defenders enough but because most of the 4 players in front of him are pure joke. Actually the majority of the times i've seen Given after a attack was made by the opposite team Given is shouting, pointing, claping which means that he is actually organising his defence. The only problem Given has as a goalkeeper is his aerial abbility.

    Distin Rejection?

And Ramage is on 70k a week ;D
  17. I would Love Baines and Bale, both are mint! I believe Bale would be a cheaper option than Baines, and under Big Sam i bet he will become great! ....Cant say i have seen to much of Shorey to make any judgement. I think it will be the opposite
  18. Give us more then 15m and i will sell him. Also i think the chances of Martins going to Juventus are bigger then going to Valencia. He has played and grown in Italy and knows everything about the Italian league. I dont want to lose Oba but if his desire is to leave then we cant do anything about it. Ultimately i want/hope that he stays.
  19. Based on his unique view of the game, a keeper is responsible for talking to his defenders (and midfielders) for 90 minutes - telling his teammates about runs being made by opposition attackers, warning them of threats coming through from midfield, encouraging them to stick with their man, ensuring that at defensive set pieces no one is unmarked, telling his defenders when to pass back or clear, whether they are under pressure when on the ball etc... We've said all along that Bramble needed a wise head alongside him, that Taylor needs an experienced player beside him, that Carr is positionally weak. Well, in my mind, it's not just the responsibility of a senior centre half - the goalkeeper has his role to play in this as well. Think Peter Schmeichel - the benchmark when it comes to commanding goalkeepers. Yes, he had a higher quality backline, but he still bellowed at them every match, keeping them focused, organised and aware. In my mind, a goalkeeper would be unable to do a post-match interview - he should be too hoarse!!! Why do you think Given isnt doing this? Agree with you about Schmeichel though. He is the best example of what the modern goalkeeper should be like. Maybe Given is not as noisy and commanding as Schmeichel but we cant blame him for not doing this things you mentioned above. The point is that Schmeichel played with top class back 4 all the time and Given is playing with mickey mouses through his 10 years at the club and maybe thats the reason why people thinks he cant organise his defence. I mean you cant blame the goalkeeper for the fact that the defenders in front of him are bunch of shit.
  20. Apparently 2 of his most important staff members back at Bolton. Would be good for the club and the team if we can get them.
  21. I don't think people's problem with Given being handed the captaincy is related to his being a keeper - I think it's more to do with the fact his communication seems to be lacking. He can't seem to organise his defence - how can he inspire his team if he can't do that? How any goalkeeper in the world can organise that bunch of crap? Yes,maybe sometimes his communication with the players and the defence isnt the best but our defence is shocking for years and any world class goalkeeper will struggle to organise it. And what do you exactly mean by "organising his defence"?
  22. No fucking shit, if you go down Fred goes down, you fat mastermind Oh for fucks sake, he's back! and he didnt change alot... apparently Freddy will never go down
  23. Have they actually signed Distin yet? I dont think so. Only strong rumours and something that he'll sign at the end of the week. Signing 2 defenders doesnt mean necessarily that Campbell will leave but when we consider the fact that he has been linked strongly with us there might be some truth in that theory. We will see. We can only guess atm.
  24. There are also rumours that Big Sam wants Bolton's performance director, Mike Forde who was also very important part of his backroom staff at Bolton. If we can bring the most important staff members who worked with Sam at Bolton would be nice for the club.
