    Hatem Ben Arfa

I actually feel he is pretty consistent in terms of end product such as goals, assists and general attacking play. You do feel though given his extreme abilities and skills he could do far more and become far more. There is nothing lacking in his game in terms of ability to say that he cannot score 20 goals and create as many for example given the likes of Lampard, Rooney, Van Persie et al get to such high figures. What we need to do is build the team around him, give him total freedom in an attacking sense and get the ball to him as much as possible. Yes he will not always beat his man and he will give the ball away but for me his showing against Spurs is probably less than 50% of his true capabilities and look at how he did them. As for his work ethic off the ball, tracking back etc., anyone who says he does neither or little of doesn't have a clue because he does that in abundance which is all the more remarkable given how much effort he puts into beating his man, trying to score and create and to win games etc. which is a lot. Agreed mate. We definitely need to get the ball to him more. I would rather see him lose the ball twice a game while trying something than him never losing it because we dont get it to him. I've seen every minute of him here and i dont care what anyone says he does work hard when we dont have the ball. Postional defending is maybe a bit off but that isn't why he's in the team. Now as for Simpson... That's all I had to say. I <3 Simmo btw, I'm not one of his constant crucifiers.

It's not just Sunlan fans but a lot of footie fans seem to be pretty retarded. My gooner mate keeps telling me each time I'm singing praises of Parder, "you're such a sell-out mate, you were moaning when he got appointed." Is one of the pre-requisites of being a footie fan being able to tell the future and react accordingly? Bizarre logic.
  3. What a fantastic player, broke up so much of the play on Saturday and won the ball back a fair few times in the crowded midfield. Really holds his own even when he's not controlling the entire game, as it was that day. Love him.
  4. Apology excepted I just hate the thought of one of our players reading the form and seeing us refer to player like that, would make us look bad. Oi, who's gonna apologise for this, then?
  5. Needs to improve his crossing and final ball, but hopefully it'll come with time. Although, we're still waiting for that time to come with Obertan. He's way better than the baldie, though, and has at least time and potential on his side. I like him a lot, tbh.

    Papiss Cissé

Probably the wisest words to have been spoken this pre-season? Oh, and he scores when he wants.
  7. All well and good everyone sticks up for him beginning of the season, but we all know this thread will implode again when he backs off to the post on another free-kick and watches the ball go sailing over him. I don't rate him, I think he's the weakest link in our defence -- ever since Raylor was replaced in the first team -- but that doesn't mean I HATE his guts in the same way Android users hate everything to do with the iPhone. I'm not there yet.
  8. I'd agree with that. You can see how reluctant Ben Arfa is to pass to him. Just one more person to nutmeg, tbh.
  9. I'm actually so nervous, anxious, fluttery in the stomach about this match. Argh, opening day of the season, why do you treat me this way, every year?

Agents, like hangers-on family members, clutch at your ankles for the rest of your life even after migration to a first-world country. Ask me, I'm still trying to block my numerous uncles' friend request on Facebook, but they make new accounts every day and keep trying. Havin' none of it.

At least that clears up what Dennis Wise did around these parts in his time here.
  12. Has been since he lost his dreadlocks. From what I know, he works very hard closing down similar to Tiote, only had 3 yellow cards last season which suggests he's a bit more subtle than Tiote. That's him pwned by Catts then in the first 90 seconds.
  13. Oui oui, moi aussi in Tdot. Although this weekend I look to watch it from my bed. Been a rough week already The Duke of Gloucestor is always good to catch toon games.
  14. Who the fuck is injured? What the fuck.

    I can't tell if they're being sarcastic.

    Leon Best

Let's not remember that day. Poor JDT had to transform into Big Al alongside Andreas Andersson, if I recall correctly.
  17. I was expecting a healthy mid-table with a jaw-dropping, dream-inspiring finish upto 10th, to be honest. 10th was the position I was going around telling all my mates we'll finish, and they would laugh hysterically, being glory-hunting topferers.
  18. The Magpies were tipped for relegation last term but confounded the critics by finishing fifth in the Premier League thanks mainly to sensational strike duo Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse. I don't understand the media constantly spouting that line, WHO was tipping us for relegation? I don't know a single person in their right mind who'd have thought, "oh yeah, there are no squads worse than Newcastle, like."
  19. Don't want him, don't need him. He'll be regressive to our playing style. And anything above 7-8M quid for Andy Carroll is a ripoff. If he's willing to sit on the bench while we continue to play our 4-3-3, then sure. He can be an impact sub, as he has been at Anfied.
  20. Ba is 3 times the player Carroll is and ever will be. People may laugh but Best is better than Carroll and as a footballer, so is Shola. Sour grapesque Eh? Ba 3x the player Carroll is, and best and shola also better than him? Absolute drivel. Big Andy polarize opinion, but he is still a very good forward. Unfortunately Liverpool fail to capitalize on his strengths with Stewart Downing the 0 goal/0 assist winger, also he has looked a bit lost for them this season. Give Carroll two good wingers and proper service and he will be a consistent 15-20 goals a year forward. Just so you know Carroll had one of the worst chance conversation percentages in the league last season. It can be difficult to catch his eye when you pass him by with all that hair, tbf.
  21. Simmo doesn't do backup. From the way he's stalling over a new deal it's clear he thinks he should not only be a starter, but one of the top earners. Just guessing.

So now our chief scout is sh1t. Is there any aspect of our club they don't find "overhyped?"
