  1. Frazier Campbell caused a few problems when he came on. He'll be a decent striker in years to come. Could've effectively killed the game if it wasn't for his 'where am I' impression. Our defence simply had turned off at that point.
  2. Is it just me or is Campbell the worst striker in the league? And why was our defence completely oblivious to his existence in the six-yard box?
  3. I think the prices are extortionate, tbh As a Canadian, I have to convert every Sterling Pound to CAD, costing me 2.5x more (or whatever the current rate it. I'm sure it's somewhere up there). Add the delivery costs and I'm looking at what... $60 for a freakin' tshirt? Discounts for the non-Brits! I can simply copy the designs and make my own here though, I especially like the Nile one on yellow. $25 at my mate's store. PS: I'm only bitching. I'm sure you lot aren't making 300% profit on them or something Fruit of the Loomish.

It's been around for years. Even posted something about it on this very forum years ago. Still don't know why it's not more widely used around the world.
  5. The most perplexing tactics since the Allardyce days. Almost Sounessian in its execution.
  6. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article3341861.ece There is a book on the subject, but I forgot who wrote it. edit: http://www.routledgesociology.com/books/British-Asians-and-Football-isbn9780415395007 Cheers for the links, Spins. But why on earth is the book worth $150?! Note: There goes my first post on the new server.
  7. Who is John Carver? Craig Bellamy used to bounce chairs off him back in the day.
  8. Bennett was, is, and always will be, a fuckin' prick. Don't know what he has against us but he has carried this grudge now for far too long, someone needs to fuckin' demote him to the Sunday league.

Wait a minute, it's not even "your thread!" lol... you're hilarious.

Your thread is a cliche, and a broken record. Make one that doesn't regurgitate the same old comments and maybe I will bother with an articulate reaction. By the way, it wasn't your thread that emitted that reaction, just some really stinted views posted within it of one of our best players, about whom this topic has been done to death. And as for "your thread," it's as much yours as it is the forum's. Take that head out, and maybe you'd realise not everything's about you.

You lot are all fuckin' wankers. Nothing more to say. Fuck off.
  12. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=586366&sec=europe&cc=5901 MILAN, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino has been banned for two matches for scoring a goal with his arm in Sunday's 3-1 win at Palermo, the Italian league said on Monday. The league's sporting judge said in a statement that after reviewing television evidence, it was clear the Italy forward had deliberately used his arm when he slid in for the opening goal in the 19th minute. The statement said the act was punishable because it was "serious unsporting conduct". Palermo were furious that the goal was allowed to stand and even more livid that Gilardino ran away to celebrate. "Gilardino deserves a five-game ban. He even celebrated, incredible," the Sicilian side's president Maurizio Zamparini told reporters before the announcement. Former AC Milan forward Gilardino, top scorer in Serie A this term with seven goals, will miss Wednesday's home game with champions Inter Milan and next Sunday's match at Siena. Post-match use of video evidence often leads to soccer players being banned for bad tackles or violent incidents which were missed by the referee. However, it is rare to punish a player for handball using replays. --------------------- Fuckin' get in. Let's hope this makes a universal splash. Now if only we could get those 3 points we lost to Blackburn back when Chops scored that offside goal and their wanker palmed them to a win.

Imagine if this thread had been made about Dennis Wise if he had no connection with our club. I think it'd look exactly the same.
  14. The greatest thread I've had the honour to witness. Ever. Also, the biggest whoosh job in the history of the World Wide Web; brilliantly executed, lads.
  15. the answer is an obvious 'yes.' although some on this board will take any sort of criticism of the fans' actions as treason so just get ready to use your mongs-out pitchfork.
  16. I find it even richer from a guy who by the end was having players bought over his head, and even then got sacked for finishing 5th. Even dafter is the notion of Freddie Shepherd proclaiming Keegan should be re-installed when he was the same Chairman who sacked Robson and appointed Souness. how is any of that 'rich'? first of all, Robson's success despite his hit and miss transfer strategy shows that when you have a good boss you have to back him despite errors in the transfer market. you don't get rid of someone cos you disagree with one or two of their transfer targets. the overall record they should be rated on is how well the first team performs and Robson did brilliantly. a good scouting team alone will not run a side for you (not that a good scouting team has to be at the expense of a good manager). it's like demolishing a house cos you have a nice pair of windows that don't fit the current architectural blueprints, only to be left without a house to fit them into. secondly, Robson knows first hand what it is like to be undermined from above on first team matters, and how destructive it can be for a side, so speaks from experience. He tried to work through the conditions and influence the club from within, whereas Keegan, a more explosive character, tried to use high-stakes brinkmanship to effect change. both these strategies failed as those in positions of power didn't want to relinquish that power, for various reasons. The first situation led to a decline we've yet to rise from, and the 2nd situation has left us in the shit. what i do find 'rich' is the same people who criticised Shepherd for interfering in first team matters are somewhat sympathetic towards Ashley for doing the same. i find them both guilty of the same thing, effectively, and these actions have taken us into dramatic decline both times. Aye aye, cap'n. "How can you sack Sir Bobby? You just can't..." "Sacking Sir Bobby was the hardest thing I've ever done..."
  17. True. Shep was in a fuckin' coma with tubes sticking out for the club to be taken from him. No wonder Ashley had no time to check the books, the fat one would've woken by the time and snapped the drawers shut.
