Man City and Aston Villa have been approximately as full as us this season. Everton less so. Sunderland spent a shitload and aren't as full. Do you think there might be slightly more to the attendance dropping than you say, NE5? Btw, before you try and accuse me of it, I am not saying the current state the club is in has nothing to do with the current falling attendances, I am saying it doesn't tell the full story.

I'd love to be optimistic about the game, but I'm far more excited about the noise that'll be coming from the away end.
-
I'm planning to get extremely drunk before kick off, lose my voice during the match, end up passing out before 10pm and barely being able to remember the spanking by the next day. Should be a classic.

Whelan hates Ashley. Well known. He's a cunt.
-
Its not kneejerk mate its not this game, this has been coming for a while, I'm sick of being told "We'll get better" we've not been in the UEFA Cup for good 2-3 years now. As NE5 would rightly point out, you've been spoilt. On a personal level I'm enjoying this season a lot, because I can afford to get to a few more aways now, love the days out.

Still a no.

I'd be happy. I reckon he could work with a DoF given that he was one.

oh yes and i remember waiting for bananas after ww2 had ended as well. stop acting like you're 70 ffs. there's been plenty of skilful players in the past 8 years, players were still paid huge sums back then and were just as arrogant as they are now. rose tinted nostalgic bullshit. Is there any real need to get offensive? I don't see how it furthers your point in any other way than looking a bit of a t***. In the 90's the term "Great" wasn't chucked around half as much as it is now, and when did I say there have been no skillful players since? Stop trying to be all big and clever, and read whats in-front of you and don't attempt to make connotations that were never implied. And as for "Huge sums". A top player back then would get 40k say, yes an obscene amount of money, but if you looked, I said for scoring a goal, bonuses now are equivelant to what the likes of Shearer and Ferdinand got per week. My comment regarding Zola was the fact look at him he came to the premier league and he just tore up the rule book, he came into this league and was a true joy to watch goals like his one against Norwich to even try that sort of thing (yes I know it was post millennium) but still, his goal against Man Utd at Stamford bridge. In my OPINION which it is something we are all entitled to, because at the end of the day the money didn't ruin it in my opinon, yes money was there I was never saying players got a shilling and six a week, but it wasn't at the point where everyone was clambering for a Middle eastern consortium to come in and spend 100 million every summer, just look at that figure 100 million, Alan Shearer England's best striker to date cost £15m, do you think you'd get his talent now for £15m these days? No you certainly wouldn't and I know that its inflation and that once upon a time Trevor Francis went for £1m but its all just esculated so quickly to the point of stupidity, you would never see a Newcastle of the 90's happen now. Hull are a close comparison but they are already faltering, but just imagine hypothetically Swansea, came up, with a striker who had previously played in League 1, who in his debut season was in the top couple of the scoring charts. There was more lee way for movement back then. But seriously, don't be a prick and get all offensive its a Discussion forum after all. I wonder if you even saw the irony when you were posting that Quite a difference really. I agree, you actually insulted him personally rather than just his opinion.

And he couldn't even do that.

I'm pretty sure the team will stay the same apart from Bassong in for Cacapa. Acceptable. I'd have Guthrie in for Butt and Zog in for Duff as well, but neither of those will happen. edit: We'll cock all over them. Come on!
-
Done a very good job at Wigan. Bit of a tosser, but would be a step in the right direction.
-
Hey, all of that's on my to do list too!

Shearer could quite easily have suffered the same fate at the hands/elbows of that Grimsby centre half a few years back. Shearer's an absolute legend but he left his elbow in there loads of times. He took kickings from CH's but could look after himself and was a dirty bastard too. It's the moral outrage I'm more concerned with. How the severity of the injury alters people's perceptions of the incident. Oooooh he's fractured his skull.......burn the twat, throw the fucking key away, he should suffer the same fate, ban the cunt, fucking disgrace to the game...etc. Absolutely insane. If what Morgan did was with deliberate malicious intent, then i'd say a bit of outrage is warranted, really. Surely that's what they're investigating, isn't it - whether or not it was deliberate? I'm not condoning all the moral outrage. Tbh though Midds, i'm surprised you can't see how it's deliberate. It's quite obviously done with malicious intent to me. Ok, so if it's that obvious then it'll be easy to prove it then. Fire away. You can't prove anything on a pitch. You can't prove that Shearer was trying to score when he whacked in that volley against Everton. I'm not calling for it to go to court or anything, but I've seen it enough times to know full well he threw that elbow on purpose, making him (imo) an utter c*nt.
-
So you want the person who threw it at Drog banned for life but don't really give a shit that he threw it back? Mixed up standards there.
-
How do you know that? Can you prove it? Obviously you can't prove it, you know that full well. Just the same as you can't prove that Steven Gerrard has ever dived. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I've watched it enough times to be convinced now though - although I'm well aware it's only an opinion.
-
It's more the fact he had a look and deliberately elbowed him in the head that concerns me. Nothing to do with Shearer as far as I can tell.
-
I know the fan won't be caught, but it's far more disgraceful for a player to retaliate than for it to happen in the first place.
-
Where I'm living right now: Closest is Crystal Palace at 2.5 miles. Newcastle is 254 miles
-
I've no doubt he's gutted at how much he's injured him, but having watched it again it looked to me like he deliberately elbowed him, which is shocking. Should be longer than your standard 3 match ban imo.
-
No chance after Carra didn't. I'm more shocked about the lack of stick he's getting in various media outlets. It's mentioned, but no-one seems to care.

Rose tinted specs. For me there are aspects I'd take from now and aspects from the past. Fence-sitting, but fairly obvious.
