Bollocks. Apples and oranges. Whilst I do think he's a fantastic manager, obviously, I do find it a little unusual that Wenger is pretty much immune to any criticism in the press. He has somewhat dismantled the team of 'invincibles' and this is the closest they've got to the title since - and I'd happily wager they won't even come top 2. How has he "dismantled" them? He's sold them on for canny fees and very few of them are doing anything elsewhere. He hasn't had access to anything near the finances of Chelsea or Man Utd, even Liverpool for that matter, yet people expect him to not only compete, but beat them. Victim of his own success. I think the money has been there, but he's afraid of getting his fingers burnt. Had he wanted to he could easily have gone out and spent the Henry money on a big name, but he chose not to. It's the Wenger way, and he's had fantastic success with it, but I think this reluctance to spend big on a player can be construed as a flaw now, especially with the huge revenues Arsenal now have.

Exactly. Very much a common sense interview.

It was for persistent dissent I think. He was in the refs face about 6 or 7 times between his two yellows, sheer idiocy.

I'd certainly have Crouch here. Dunno though... i think i'd have Kenwyne Jones here if the Mackems were to go down (which i doubt). He could turn into a really decent player. yeah Kenwyne Jones looks like i he's going places so he must leave sunderland soon................ He started the season well, and looked a real handful against us, but hasn't scored for ages.

I'd imagine the rationale is that Viduka is far more likely to retain possession than Oba, whose first touch can often lead to us losing the ball.

Fucking hell, Alan Green is a miserable cunt. Mind you, Liverpool are losing so it should come as no real surprise.

What an absolute pile of shit.

I haven't seen the decision, but it's about time Referees started booking people for dissent. It's the only way it's going to be cut out.

Injuries/small squad are hitting us quite hard at the moment. I reckon at least 3 of the players yesterday weren't properly fit. Just in time for the derby too Was Pienaar out injured?

More like Ally did.

Whatever you think about them as a club, this is a fantastic gesture http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/7310358.stm

Chelsea surely have.

It'll be Jamie Redknapp. Did you see how Louise managed to get £100k out of him just like that? Blatantly knobbing.

I bet they are absolutely gutted every time they see that goal... which they will do for many years to come As mental as I went about that goal, when we squeezed one in two minutes later to win the game was probably a better moment... still buzzing from that and then the realisation that we'd somehow stolen 3 points when we didn't really even deserve one.

You have the other bottom clubs to play at home as well havent you mate. Hope things improve by then... whos next in line ? Man U at Old Trafford We always roll over and let Man U bum us in the face no matter how well we're playing. You're talking to a team that has conceded 5 goals to just one of their players this season.

The funniest early leave I've ever seen was Everton a few years ago. I don't get to that many home games, and we were losing 1-0, and playing poorly. With about ten minutes to go the father/son combo to the right of me left. Just gave me more space to dance in when Shearer scored the best goal I've ever seen
-
Shearer adapted and became incredibly effective after his injuries. Owen's main attribute, imo, has always been his brain. If he can adapt his game with anywhere near the results that Shearer had he will be a fantastic player for some time to come.

You're not the only one

They're also examples of us playing two of the worst teams in the league.

It was Stuart Hall. The man is a genuine living legend, love having him on as one of the people at the game.

Bullard. Sounded like he had a crack from 35 yards every time he got it.
