  1. Apprehensive excitement was my initial reaction. The apprehension was mainly because I loved him so much from his previous spell that I didn't want it ruining. I'm convinced he'll keep us up, and I'm dying to see what he'll do in the summer. He may be less likely than a Hughes or Redknapp to get us playing reasonable football and sitting in a consolidated mid-table position, but I'd say he's more likely to get us up into the top 6.
  2. I agree. Saw some real promise in that as a partnership, particularly second half.
  3. Always a shame to see a player have to retire at such a young age.
  4. Did I see you've released Dixon? Weren't you saying he was as talented as Rooney a while ago?
  5. Given that you're still much longer than evens and 3rd favourites with most bookies it still doesn't look that great though.

So as it stands, we're 3 points clear with a game in hand (tomorrow's) of Fulham. We don't have a game in hand on Bolton, but they've got ManU away on wednesday and a very, very tough run in. We'll be fine.

Bolton seem to be on top at the JJB this half.
  8. I'd probably have Carvalho and Toure as comfortably higher than Laursen tbh, and even then there are comparisons to players such as Carragher, Agger, Dunne, Distin. There are quite a few good CBs in the prem at the moment.

3.4 for the home team? Fucking hell that is good. That's what I thought. I know they're in a bad run of form, but to be massive underdogs to Flavour of the Month FC at home was very steep. Mind, they probably still won't win

Good odds on Citeh today I thought. Put a couple of quid on at 3.4 on Betfair.

Sounds pretty tasty at the JJB.

    I fucking hope they do....
  13. Not one of your better threads, facilitator.
  14. I reckon we're almost exactly as good now as we were under Allardyce. We probably play the ball on the ground more now though.
  15. Wiki said on SBR's first full season: You are not in the same league as SBR you useless big faced twat do not flatter yourself by thinking you are.
  16. Butt and Kanu are the only two I know of. Pretty sure Yorke hasn't been relegated.
  17. Gold star. He's won the UEFA Cup too, you could add that next time. Couldn't throw Nicky Butt in then!
  18. nicky butt? That's the one I got that he didn't know about. There is one other, but I'd never have got it myself.
  19. Here's a question for you: I got asked this the other night, came up with an answer and the person who'd asked it was furious because he'd previously believed it to be a one person answer: Name me a player, currently playing int he prem, who has won the prem, been relegated from it, won the fa cup and won the champs league.

    Alan Smith

Thinking back, I'm certain the cut off for 5 cautions has gone, the cut off for 10 may well be different.
  21. Allardyce must be the only manager ever to have been sacked mid-season having received such vocal support at his final game in charge. Even on TV the 'Big Sam's black and white army' chants were clearly audible throughout the Stoke away game.
