If Sunderland were higher than Newcastle.....................
Mowen replied to Martin Lol's topic in Football
Worked well for Ramos yesterday... O'Hara was wank and Taarbat was getting a right slagging on GG. Now Juande seems to be the fall guy -
Played a captains role very well yesterday, getting involved, organising people at set pieces, etc. I think he's evolving into the role very nicely, and now he's scoring under KK I don't think it will be too hard to persuade him to say. That's based on the reasonable assumption that we want him to of course.

Only once under Allardyce, and they battered us 2-3 last time at WHL.

Fair play to you for coming on here today. I thought you just about shaded the first half, but it was by no means a travesty it went in all square, I can only remember one save from Harper, and Beye hit the bar. Dawson and O'Hara may have been committed but they were both terrible - Hutton looked good to me though. Your midfield is shocking, completely overrun, and whilst Bent and Keane looked threatening Berbs put in one of his classic 'couldn't give a shit' performances. I'd agree with you that we weren't brilliant, but we were very, very good, and tore you to pieces especially as you pushed on for an equaliser. Geremi's goal showed why Robinson shouldn't be playing for you anymore.

It's fucking magic. Showing no signs of wearing off
-
Looked almost like a midfield diamond to me today, with Owen pushing on.
-
Has Gary O'Neil done much for 'boro?

He's not in the team under Keegan though...wouldn't be surprised to see him go. Would be disappointed, but I agree with sicko's post above in the main. he's picking a team for the moment, but I'd be surprised if Keegan doesn't see him as a player who could be a big one for him. Keegans aim will be to create a club again where our best players all want to stay, whether thats too late for zoggy we don't know. A few more results like today would make him think though. I'd like to think we'll keep hold of him, don't get me wrong, but if he wants out then there's a chance he'll need the promise of first team football to stay, which I'm not sure KK will be able to offer him.
-
Hutton was pretty decent today, their best player by far imo. Still haven't seen anything of him that would make me want him over Beye mind. Also I agree with whoever said we need one more centre half. That would be acceptable.

Did they stewards manage to try and get our lot to sit or did everyone stand? They normally give us loads of bother for standing and end up ejecting a canny few people. Nah, we were just allowed to stand in the lower section at least. I think they realised it would be pointless trying to impose it. They did throw someone out though, not sure what for.
-
I only knew it was Woody because I saw the replay on the big screen Berbs didn't look as though he could be bothered today, Bent and Keane looked much more threatening throughout. O'Hara seemed well out of his depth at LB.

Agree with almost everything there, probably would have marked Enrique slightly higher though, thought he was very solid defensively. Some pretty funny chants today, especially enjoyed "Should have signed for a big club" at Woodgate. Thought Hutton was their best player mind, Woody almost gifted us a goal when Beye hit the bar. Excellent from Barton, really hope he can produce that sort of form on a regular basis.
-
Fucking excellent performance today. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game like that, we absolutely battered them second half. Much improved from Barton in particular, both the fullbacks were excellent defensively and I thought Owen put in a very classy performance.
-
Isn't his shooting and crossing meant to be a bit weak? He runs fast = he is mint. The way it works. He's not amazing by any means. But N'Zog and Lennon on the wings could pin back any team. I think it would improve our balance and scare any opposition. £8m would be a reasonable price in the current market as well, imo.
-
Lennon for £8m would be a very good bit of business for us. By no means the finished article, but would add some much needed pace and drive to our team.

Bump.... Approaching the end of the season now, who still makes the list? Can't believe how many mentions the Yak has got, looking back. Smith is obviously well up there, Barton has to be as well really. Most people Sunderland have signed, bar Andy Reid probably, couple of important contributions from him already. Nani and Bent are both overpriced but could have done a lot worse. Other shit signings: Zat Knight, Florent Malouda, Diomansay Kamara, Mido.
-
Emre's injured, as are Milner, Given, Carr and Cacapa. I'm absolutely buzzing for this game, really looking forward to it although I will be a bit surprised if we get anything from it. I'll stick my neck out and say 2-2.
-
I'd love to see him go for Carrick, I doubt we'd get him but you never know, if he's home sick then we'd have a chance. I've lived away 3 times and wanted to come back the day after I left, I wasn't earning £millions to soften the blow which is slightly different. He's an excellent player, and worth trying for but I fear it will be in vain. Can't see ManU letting him go, and he was excellent by all accounts today.
-
Who is it? Pretty sure that's Fernando Redondo. As elegant a player as I've probably seen, not that I ever saw a huge amount of him.
-
Me too. Intrigued to see what he'll do. As some have mentioned, I think a bid for SWP will be in the offing. Beyond that, I have no idea.

Ludicrous decision. And that female commentator is shit. Not because she's female, but because she's a fucking terrible commentator.
