Souness fucked up massively with his treatment of Robert, but given how poor he was for Pompey the next season he was clearly on his way down. If N'Zogbia ever turns out to be as good/productive as Robert was in his first three seasons here we'll have struck jackpot.

Absolutely. It would also be an excellent addition to the team.

Krancjar wouldn't work there imo, he's slow as fuck. Got a nice touch, decent pass and vision etc. but not suited to that position at all. I'd be tempted to have a look at Appiah for that position, not seen him play for about a year now mind.

It's highly unlikely, but we'll give it a good go, I've no doubt about that. Finishing the season on that much of a run would certainly give the place a bit of a buzz and make us much more attractive to potential signings. On another note, I'd absolutely jizz it if we finished above Spurs.

Yeah, they seem to have been doing better away from home this year, think they had something like 6 0-0s on the trot at home after the Reading game. Maybe not particularly defensive but they're quite a brutal team and not the best to watch in my experience this season.

The fact that Bent got a running jump on to it made it even harder to defend. Excellent finish, the crosser should have been put under more pressure though.

How would that team line up? Looks like 5 defenders, 3 attacking midfielders and 2 strikers to me.

He's the kind of step up I'm thinking of..Clearly better than Butt especially distribution. Bouba Diop and Muntari would also do well for us, Pompey seem to have an abundance of midfielders that could fill the areas we need filling most desperately. Don't think they've got enough variation as a team, but there's a lot of strength, pace and power in their midfield which we seem to be lacking at the moment.

I like him as a player, although he's looked slightly less assured of late. If I were Keegan I'd probably be looking to buy a first choice CB to partner Taylor or Faye, which would also give the option of Faye in midfield when needed.

If only we'd picked up Diarra. He could play either of the positions Butt and Geremi occupied yesterday very effectively imo.

Those marks are all laughable, but 4 for Carroll (who did the few things he did pretty well) and 3 for Edgar is ludicrous.
