Yup. Should have stuck it out till the summer and then given a new manager time to buy and implement his tactics. Whilst I agree that Allardyce should have been kept until the summer, it's worth remembering that most of our underachievement this season came when he was at the helm.

No-one has performed to the level which they are capable of for some time. I'm struggling to think of the last time someone turned in an excellent performance for us.

Usually it is, the magic of a club getting to the 4th round only to get twatted is not a lot of magic, but this year has been astonishing. Never thought I'd see an FA Cup like this, the way things have been going in football. No team outside the top 4 has won it since 1995, that's how boring it's become. This year has blown that to pieces. Thing is... even that "No team outside the top 4 since whenever" stuff is misleading. Chelsea won it twice I think when they weren't truly one of the big boys. West Ham where what 2 minutes away from winning it? That final was magical in itself. So many twists and turns, lucky goals and wonder goals to boot First part is spot on. The 'big 4' only came into existence with Abramovich, Chelsea were a big side but not consistent top 4 finishers when they won it.

From that list I think 'Numb' is the closest.

I had him down at centre back but it might well be worthwhile having big Abbers in the middle of the park for this one. We need someone who has presence of some sort.

That's what I went for. Geremi's been shit for us, but so has everyone in CM this season. At least he can take a better set piece than most.

Dropped away to Reading.

Good old "Martins" -
I wish I was old enough to remember watching him at Italia '90. I've seen some youtube clips, and heard the way people talk about him and I feel like I missed out...

Smith's got more fight than almost anyone. I'd still rather he wasn't playing though. -
I voted for "No" and "Fxxk off kneejerk post". I will be very disappointed but not shocked if he doesn't play though.

I can't understand why you would. Betting on something you really don't want to happen is bizarre imo, surely you won't get any comfort at all from the £25 or so you'd profit from it going ahead. I don't think you realise Wullie's recent record when betting. If that's the case the tight bastard should stick a ton on. Seriously though, no-one honestly believes that by betting on something they make it less likely to happen? Really? Might have misunderstood you, but are you implying that somehow by betting on something you can alter its probability of happening?

Teams stay up not because of the predicted wins but because they get points that nobody thought they would. I.E West Ham beating Man Utd last season. We need belive we can cause a upset against some club. I'm pretty sure we stayed up last year by mainly getting easy points that we should have.

Very true. It was much discussed on here that our first half of the season was noticably easier than the second.

Why hasn't he won as much then? Because Fergies had longer and Wenger has had stiff competition all the way through, some years it was a given Manu were to win the title at least, for Wenger he's had to break a dominant force that was backed my massive financial clout. He's done a great job. Wenger is far superior, but its a great debate though. Bit harsh on Fergie that like. Let us not remember it was some 20 odd years previous that Man Utd had won the league to him taking over, and him making the team one of the most dominant in English football history. Don't forget Wenger has to wrestle that dominant force while making his name. Fergie had nothing fighting him, we put up one of his biggest fights and we were a recently promoted club. Fergie has had it easy imo. He created the team that no one could get close to though. The gap was there mainly because they were so good.

You say this cause you don't understand the special position of this club. The people of the Midlands with all due respect are passive muppets who will put up with anything. If any owner or consortium wants a war we're perfectly capable of giving them one. Without the best wishes of the fans this club would disintegrate. It'll be a long range war then will it?
