    Styles a hero?

Interesting post in the F365 mailbox that might cause some debate on the state of referees: It seems to be taking it a bit far, but the lack of respect for refs in football at the moment is ridiculous. Needs to be addressed imo.

    Strongest 11?

Of the players currently on our books I'd probably go for Given Solano Roz Taylor Enrique Milner Geremi Barton N'Zogbia Viduka Owen Can't pick Cacapa as I don't know how good he is: on the other hand I have to pick Enrique even though I don't know how good he is. Zog shades Duff. Bench to include Harper, Cacapa, Duff, Oba and Smith/Emre. Pretty decent. Away games I'd probably bring Cacapa in for Solano and move Taylor out to right back to give us added physical presence.
  3. Just about all signed by Arnesen have now gone. Robinson? Dawson? Lennon? Keane? Defoe? Lee? EDIT: Was Carrick not also Arnesen? It's indisputible that he was key to the first 5th place, and he then went on to make you a huge amount of money allowing you to buy Berb with some to spare. Were they not of his era? As far as I can tell, those signed by Comolli who played regularly last season are Jenas, Berb, Chimbonda, Zokora and Malbranque although less frequently. I would have said Arnesen had just as much of an impact, he propelled you there, or so it seemed to an outsider. Feel free to correct on any of the signings though, it's almost impossible I've got the timings of them all correct in my head. Is much of this wrong? As far as I can tell you've got worse since Comolli started affecting the squad more and more.... When did he become responsible for signing players? Was Berb his first capture?
  4. An encouraging start is the best way I can think to describe it.
  5. So the squad that finished 5th the first time around (and did significantly better than the following year) had nothing to do with Comolli, and yet you side with Comolli as it was the squad Comolli assembled that any manager should take to Europe?

  7. I'd rather have Anelka, please. Me too, rather have Anelka over Martins ability wise. ...personally I'd swap any of our strikers for Anelka. Even Mark "He's totoal class him, you'll see, 20 goals a season" Viduka?? Annoyed at not being able to do it about Dyer any more, Northern Monkey now seeks to put words in to peoples mouths about Mark Viduka. Wind it in, soft lad. It was a generalisation about soem of the hysterical shite some people were putting on here about the Viduka and how great they claimed he was, in the face of all historical evidence and common sense. It wasn't a FACT, it was a tongue-in-cheek statement. Get over it. Sorry, think I missed this guy out It was a joke Monkey! Oh, ok. Twat.
  8. That's the point I was trying to get at by asking who Comolli had signed.. I'm sure that Arnesen has contributed more to the current first team squad than Comolli has, so for MJ (the poster, not the manager) to say "that with the squad that Comolli put together" seems to overrate what he's acheived at the club so far.
  9. 2005 wasn't it? Whereas Carrick left last summer. May well be true, must have got my years mixed up. So one of the first players Comolli unearthed was Jenas? Who else did Spurs sign that summer?
  10. Didn't Arnesen put together the bulk of the squad though? I was under the impression he left the same summer as Carrick...

  13. Yes Dave but according to you Roeder would still be here. Wasn't that you? I thought it was you? Nah. I even bollocked someone for FACTING he would be staying. It was you, you pulled those towers. YOu fuck I have it on good authority it was you. Let me look at those fingers. Where's your authority now, Parkman?

  15. Funny coming from an arsenal fan.. but i absolutely agree with you- no point having some radical non-direct freekick this or toss them off for 20 minutes that.. just educate the refs on what a dive looks like and book the offenders, full stop. I agree tossing them off for 20 minutes wouldn't work. We're supposed to be punishing their behaviour, not rewarding it. Besides, there'd be no point doing it any more after approximately 6 of those minutes.

  17. Aye, closest we came to creating a goal was from his great pass round the corner. That was a delightful move on the whole, something we haven't seen the like of for a while. That pass was particularly lovely. It was just a glimpse, but it's one of the few pieces of football that has been really pleasing on the eye there's been at SJP for a while now.

  19. does he tell you EVERYTHING?? You'd think he'd keep some things to himself for his autobiography.
  20. Yes, I did. Surprised that you knew that. Claiming that you'd never heard of the guy. My understanding is that Chelsea has some kind of buy out clause that they could choose to exercise or not. So Chelsea unearthed him. Had you heard of him before they did that?
  21. Dukes didn't have a good game, but his moment of class, one of the few times he had the ball at his feet created the best move of the game. Wouldn't have happened had Shola been playing.
  22. I think it'd be worth trying ------Geremi------ Barton------Emre for home games at least, it'll give us a lot of options in midfield. Might be worth bringing in Butt or Smith for Emre away from home, where he seems to go missing more often than not. For the time being, with both Barton and Emre out I'd be looking to get Enrique in asap and use Zog through the middle to give us some much needed drive. Don't know what option to vote for though!
  23. Bearing in mind they received about £11m for Koumas and Kamara it's hardly extravagent.
  24. Correct. The performances so far are vindicating your desire for a playmaker, we've needed one for some time now. Diego!
  25. Bugger, was hoping it was going to be on the 28th, I'm off on holiday morning of the 29th.
