This is truly fucking dismal, but if anyone needed a demonstration of precisely how Liverpool's position re. the Suarez affair is going to legitimise racist behaviour, this was it.

The overiding sentiment seems to be one of positivity and well-wishes for the guy throughout the thread so I fail to see the miserable sod comment holding much water btw. As for my cynicism, I'd say its well founded and my view, on this specific case, is that we should be concentrating all of our efforts on pushing for 7th which would be a fantastic return by anyone's expectations. To achieve this, we'll need more than one body in January. Therefore, I'm not all that bothered about 'thinking outside the box' if it means nicking a kid from under Eastleigh's noses. That said, if we go on to strengthen the first team squad with a minimum of two bodies this Jan, then I'm happy for this lad to trial his socks off, so long as it doesn't impact our moves elsewhere. Wouldn't surprise me if they're looking for the next Loven though ahead of the summer, which would frustrate me if done 'on the cheap' due to the Carroll move - hence the earlier comments. What on earth are you on (and on) about? Why or how should trialling a player "impact our moves elsewhere"?

But I don't still like him and I want him to know that.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/29/liverpool-jose-enrique-newcastle-fans Yeah, José, it just came right out of the blue. It's not as if you spent a year stalling on your contract in the hope that a CL club -- or even Liverpool -- might come in for you. Hope this Scousito gets booed every time he touches the ball.

Actually a quick Google Image search shows that Mick is correct, but it seems to be about 90 percent the other way around, and ten percent in the "fuck off" position.

Not true, he did it both ways. Post photographic evidence.

This is a myth btw. And Churchill's "V for Victory" gesture was different -- hand the other way around.

My dad was a Liverpool supporter. Personally, growing up in the years where they dominated English football, I've had a rivalry with Liverpool ever since I was a small boy who decided to support his home-town team.

We "don't have a rivalry" with Liverpool?
