As if Carroll's going to become our record signing man. The club has shown exactly what they can do with £20 million and I would hate to see them blow that sort of cash on one player, especially a player who hasn't even played well for so long.

My main worry is that if we pay this kind of money for him then he'll almost become the first name on the team sheet. Realistically we won't be paying £15m plus for a third choice striker. So who do we drop? Cisse or Ba? I'd rather we stayed clear now and invested that money in other areas of the pitch and got a 3rd choice forward for possibly around half of that fee. How good was Ben Arfa, Cisse and Ba up front together last season? If we get Carroll that is gone and I don't think it should be. We should keep the formation that played so well for us last season and just improve on it in areas such as RB and CB, with some squad players as well.

That is ridiculous money! Given how well we have spent in recent markets, I would hate to see us spend this kind of money on one player.

The stadium looks brilliant, but I fear it has just showcased more Sports Direct logo space to Ashley. Still great to see the Olympic stuff up though.

I think if he had an offer from the likes of QPR he would still wait and see if a top 10 club comes in for him. He is probably too afraid of signing for a relegation threatened side in case he has to play Championship football in 13/14.

The idea of a Scottish club moving in to the English league system is ridiculous when their independence could be just around the corner. Scotland has to say no before the question of the old firm joining the English league system is raised again imo.

I can't really see the grounds diminishing that badly, I mean the grounds and fanbase they have now won't just disappear, it'll half I'd say. They will still have their loyal thousands who may just see the next 3 seasons as a waiting game before getting back to the top flight, similar to us when we went down. After a while we knew we'd be going back up and just enjoyed the ride. It'll be interesting to see what happens though should they fail to get promoted one of the times.
