Aye I always thought that was quite obvious myself. I think he's a good lad and I'm fully hoping it works out for him. I never understood the hate for him, at the end of the day he loves the club and is trying to carve out a career for himself that involves the club and is something he loves doing, whats wrong with that? If people can't stand him don't watch his content and leave the lad be. Its pretty clear that people who give him shit in person are just picking on an easy target. I remember some 30 something Southampton fan calling him out for a scrap last season, as if he does that if its someone like True Geordie standing there with a camera.

I'd take that if I'd confidence he'll start every game. He should do, but Wilson will start a few.

Standard Moyes and standard form for most if not all aging British managers. West Ham should have binned him off and done a rebuild with someone new. They just won the Conference League and are in FFP paradise and they've wasted it with Moyes. They could have realistically created something that could have ended up with them in the top 10 and maybe getting into a European spot. Instead Moyes will be sacked before Halloween probably.

Murphy did well too last season. I think the problem we have with RW is that last season we rotated players in form to get us through. Almiron was on fire until January and kinda went off the boil a bit, then Murphy had a purple patch towards the end of the season. We need to put a quality RW in there who will play most of the season. We know Miggy and Murphy aren't all that long-term. Think of Almiron's form last season and how many points we got from it. If he or someone else can replicate that this season we'll fall behind compared to last year. We need someone who can be relied upon to deliver that consistently. Players like that cost a fair bit and we've obviously got FFP limitations but I think we missed a trick with Diaby going for £50m, we'll see.

I can see Carragher's point of view. He is basically saying he would have expected us to make those signings anyway, which for Livramento and Barnes he's probably right, I definitely don't think we'd have got Tonali without our CL qualification. Carragher was expecting us to push the boat out a bit more because we have CL football now, instead of the likes of Barnes and Livramento go for players who are established in Europe already. I think it'll pay off for us either way, plus we're not done yet.

Loved the clips on Adams video of the players meeting the kids before the show. Was pissing myself at Adam signing shirts after it thinking about the fume it’d give a few on here.
-
Would loved to have got a real quality RW and LB but if we get a CB then we’ve done very well this window. Could still maybe sort a loan to buy deal late on who knows.
-
Ill take his word for it to mean Livramento +1.

Away and third tops posted by DH Gate for me. Away top was ordered when it was announced.

Did he get a pre season in with Southampton after his injury?
-
Join the ballot and potentially pay a ton or more for a ticket would be absolutely crazy.
-
Is this for the season or could Liverpool at home be £55 to £105 or something mental? I'm guessing this is another thing they haven't clarified?
-
Aye, and you’re having to deal with twats coming out with shite like this as well. Aye sure pay hundreds for a hotel and flight when you don’t have a ticket. That makes sense.
-
You should be able to yeah. Just tell them at the turnstile that you're scanning two tickets. The last couple of concerts I went to had this system and I had to scan everyone because I had all the tickets on my phone.

Its going to be interesting to see how Howe deals with the Isak/Wilson situation from the start. I personally would like to see Isak start every game when fit so hopefully he starts here. Tough game to call really, Villa are a very good team. Obviously hope we win but could see any result here.

I dont think the Saudi League impacts us in any real way. PIF could invest in us enough to make us another Man City and the money spent will be nothing to them. I'm sure they will still want to be one of the top dogs in the PL and Europe regardless of how the Saudi League is going. My only concern would be if they had ideas about some of our top players going to the Saudi League to improve the product over there. There's nothing we could do to stop it.
-
They're getting free money from the government/PIF. This would be happening here if FFP didn't exist. I guess the plan is to try and fast-track their league to the levels of Europe's top 5 leagues and sell the product globally at a high price from there. It may well work because there's no denying there's a big interest in the league now, but they surely need to improve at a grassroots and youth level as well to make it properly sustainable rather than just throwing crazy money at established players. Having said that its hard to see the league ever having a pull other than it pays more than anywhere else.
-
Why does it seem like every season there's a big change in the rules of the game in the PL? We always seem to be adjusting to some change in the first few games every year.
-
In fairness they took a punt on Gerrard when it looked like he might be a half decent manager and it just didn't work out. Were we not looking at him at the time too?
-
Oh no doubt they are very well run. I just never would have predicted Villa being the team going toe to toe with us at the start. I would probably have seen it being Leicester, a team that was in and around the top 7/8 in recent years. Mental to think that they're not in the top flight anymore.
-
How is it that we got bought by the Saudis and the team we're competing with is Aston fucking Villa? A lot of people seem to think they'll finish above us too.
-
Does top 5 make CL this season?
-
He won’t settle and will be back here in 6 months or a year.
-
Selling him in his prime for that price is shocking, but to do it to a Saudi club who are throwing money about for fun is even worse.
