  1. Because our owners are not as invested in NUFC as they are to other Saudi ventures including their own league.
  2. This has been badly handled. If we were going to sell it would have made more sense to do it right from the start, that way we would have got Ekitke.

It makes sense in it gives us a proven goalscorer in a crucial season. Honestly if we didn't land him our season would have been wrecked. I would have preferred Larsen because of the age thing, but I guess Wolves wouldn't entertain it.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

This is the only thing which makes me ok with selling Isak and overpaying for Wissa. I am quite optimistic that Woltemade could become the next Isak anyway, if in a slightly different way.

We've overpaid, but he is genuine quality so I'm pleased to have him. Needs must so at least it means our season won't go to pot.
  6. Imagine we don't even have another striker lined up.....
  7. This is me as well tbh, and I've been saying this since news broke that we might reach agreement on £120-30m. Fuck the price, which is bad enough, but it will blow up our season if we don't get another striker in. Surely to God, one is lined up!??
  8. If they let Isak go for less than we have been led to believe we valued him initially, and also fail to bring in a replacement, they are basically blowing up our season to get ahead of PSR. I'm sorry but that's not how we get to #1. But this is all speculation, let's see what actually happens.
  9. What about our season? Don't we need a striker in to replace Isak if he leaves? Brentford and Wolves don't look like they are going to bend at all.
  10. I'm holding my judgement until I see how this transpires tomorrow, but if we sell Isak for £130m or less, and fail to land a striker ourselves, then it's pretty clear where our priorities lie. Not success this season, but just a healthy balance sheet. But let's see, could all just be stuff purposely leaked to journos off the record to throw other clubs off what we really have lined up.
  11. That's been the media take for decades tbf.
  12. Would have been soft but he definitely lifted his arm there.
  13. This is why I've maintained from the start that he'll have no problem playing again if he doesn't get his transfer. Presuming Eddie wants him back in, I would imagine he's not in a hurry right now, he will be pretty pissed at the points we've dropped on account of him going AWOL.
  14. Feels like Liverpool have more threat at the moment, Arsenal are doing fuck all.
  15. Woltemade's signing has taken a lot of pressure off us. We are calling the shots at this point, don't care what Anfield Agenda or any other bald twerp thinks.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Going to be an interesting deadline day for a change, been ages since we were involved in any last day drama.
  17. Think it will be next summer now, and we'll be better prepared. He's had his fingers burned by Liverpool unless they come in with a serious bid, I think he would learn his lesson if it doesn't work out this time.
  18. He won't. Everything he's done has been Liverpool led, once he realises they aren't going to go out of their way to bring him in, he'll shrug his shoulders and declare himself fit and ready to return to action.
  19. Isak is Premier league proven as well. Wirtz is pretty evidently not.

Would love to see Isak's face when that was put to him.

    Not gonna happen.
  22. McAlistair with the headlock getting the all clear from VAR
