Trippier must be leaving, that's what I'm taking from this.
-
Don't believe for one minute we'd spend £45m on a 27 year old Gomez. I wouldn't even spend half that tbh.
-
Fans usually know their own players bettter than anyone. If they rate him that highly then he's a good player.
-
From what we have read over the last few days though they haven't rejected us outright. They are just hoping to bait some other bidders and get the best possible price for him. He's obviously got talent, maybe still got some learning to do.
-
Can't see us signing any players from Barcelona unless they are youngsters who can't get anywhere near the first team. We want hungry players, not those who think they reached the top with Barca and we would be a step down.
-
There was a few suggestions that his England performances had inflated his value as he was generally up against weaker teams than he'd face in the Premier. Presumably he's not the finished article yet.
-
I always thought he was better with the ball at his feet than he was given credit for tbh. Lovely touch and finish though, worthy of winning any game.

It's not just mad, it shows how stupidly the laws are applied. That shove was hard enough to knock Schar over, it could easily be termed assault. I don't see why putting hands on a player face to face is a sending off offence, but when you charge him from behind it's because football is a contact sport.
-
Not even sure he's that arsed about coming here tbh, all we've heard so far is he's open to a move.
-
I think we will end up paying a premium for Guelhi, but I really don't want players like Gomez who won't close the gap with clubs like Liverpool.
-
Our midfield didn't really click when we had 11 men out there though so we really need players who can do good work on it. For this game once we went down to 10 men we needed grafters who would close the spaces down and for that situation Longstaff was perfect.
-
I really hope our alleged interest in him was only due to PSR forcing our hand. Liverpool are clearly trying to sell him rather than their better prospects.
-
If Schar hadn't reacted, then Diaz would have been the one in the spotlight - although I agree that sort of violence seems to get overlooked in football for some reason. Schar just got played and he has put us in a bad situation with this 3 game ban.
-
His directness for the assist to beat his man and get his cross in is exactly what Almiron and Murphy won't give us, they both hesitate to go for the jugular. Almiron is extremely irritating for this with his cutting back and going backwards, and Murphy tends to hesitate as well.
-
If it means we drop our alleged interest in Joe Gomez for £45m then get it done.
-
The cut off point at this stage seems to be just give Palace what they are asking.
-
That makes sense anyway, and it ties in with how we are doing our recruitment. Not really sure there's a better alternative, it gives us another window to sell surplus players, and if we can't then we'll have to sell purples for a big profit. Unfortunately we can't force other clubs to buy our surplus, and we can't force them to go to clubs they don't want.
-
Think it's pretty clear by now we are only going to bring in players who we think are capable of taking us to the next level and are happy to wait until they are available. If they become available now we can make it happen but would need to sell before next June by the sounds of it.
-
Tbf the £28m fee always seemed a daft figure and it seems it was pulled out of nowhere. £60m is obviously too much but Chelsea don't really need to sell as the FFP rules don't really apply to them.
-
Don't think that's right, sounds more like we have bid close to what they want. Although at this point we are obviously all in on Guehi so we are going to give them the full asking price if they hold out for it.
-
Would just rub in how bad we've struggled to recruit for the position which we do need, i.e. RW.
-
We did well to get Osula in last week tbf, could have been getting quoted £60m if we'd left it another few days.
-
Maybe all the best players are already in England. Chelsea have bought up most of them tbf.
-
I don't even think they'd contemplate selling him when they can get £30m for Anderson who is 28, unless Guehi has indicated he wants the move.
