Would far rather Joelinton or Bruno contributed directly to a goal tbh.

Thanks. Please feel free to keep him at Villa for at least another year.

They don't give a shit who they sell to. They are just trying to use Spurs to get us to bid higher given that they would probably rather not sell to anyone in the first place. Staying in the PL is worth far more to them. We are daft to be pursuing a deal where a club has no benefit in selling unless it's for a ruinous fee.
-
Maybe they just don't want to sell Wissa? £40m vs what it would cost them if they get relegated? I'm not surprised they are hanging on for dear life.

If he's good enough for Unai Emery who knows him better than most, then he's good enough for us. Get him in.
-
Just get the Jackson deal done FFS. This one isn't worth pissing about until the end of the windo for.

Not that it really affects my position, as I have accepted players/agents will act up in order to get moves for financial reasons, but in Wissa's case this is probably his last chance to land a move to a CL club so from that perspective, I can sort of understand his desperation. He's 29, Isak is going to be 26 so still has time on his side. I don't condone players under contract acting up btw, but it's something clubs have to deal with these days, especially in an age where agents are so powerful.

You'd like to think we've put the feelers out to Wolves to see if a deal is possible before wasting the rest of the window chasing another lost cause.
-
Agree, I think he'll accept he has no other option but to play another season here. He's damaged morale at the club but I think once the window closes and he's accepted it, we'll be fine. He'll want to play, and Howe is the right man to get the rest of the squad on board with bringing him back into the fold. There might be a few twists and turns before Sep 1st but this is how I see it playing out, and the club statement suggests as much.
-
I'll absolutely take him if we can get a deal done. But we need to make a decision right now whether this is actually realistic, otherwise we have to move on, a Wilson replacement should already have been done IMO, it's the big transfer failure of the summer so far.
-
We just need to bring in one good quality striker along the Wissa/Jackson category as a Wilson replacement. We can't worry about replacing Isak if there are no strikers of that calibre available. Get the Wilson replacement in as of yesterday, and then we can at least put out a winning team while Isak gets himself fit to return to the fold in the next few weeks.
-
The Jackson deal's still probably there for the taking but the price is probably rising to the tune of £10m/week.
-
We did go for Wissa early, this has been dragging on for over a month now. Pretty sure we were told he wasn't for sale then as well. We seemed to think we would get it done, turns out that we have misjudged it badly. Hence starting the season with Gordon up front.
-
We said this last summer after the Guehi debacle though. A year later we ended up signing the same player who was considered a realistic alternative to Guehi back then. So I'm not sure the lessons are sinking in.

Yep. We've had ample time to get a Wilson replacement, and while Wissa was a great choice, our transfer team seem to be none the wiser as to if he's even available or not.
